Your links are outdated, most of them are from before SP1, and they were pretty much all in the times when computers didn't have today's specs and at the time Vista still has bugs. Now it doesn't. Also, dual core processor + 4GB RAM, your computer will most likely be faster with Vista than XP. Just needs the graphics card to play the game. Also, Vista has dx10, which gives much better graphics.

I think that's pretty much your problem tbh. And IE sucks, especially the version Jagex uses. MS has a general disrespect for the web standards. Nobody should be using IE. For the sake of the web developers. THIS. Have you ever tried to put together a layout for a website? You get it right, it looks perfect in FF, Chrome, Safari... then you check IE and WHOOPS the menu is 300 pixels from where it's supposed to be and you're wasting hours trying to figure out what's doing it. I thought that it used the version you had on the computer, stripping the menus and all?

What? That leaves almost no space for other application. I would partition 30GB for Windows 7, but I don't recommend windows on external hard drive, especially on something as slow as usb.

Are you using USB or e-SATA? I wouldn't install an operating system on an external drive though, it will be too slow to make the communications between the computer and the external drive.

That's because it's a fat32 drive, the filesize can only go up to around 4GB for any give file. You're going to have to either cut your iso file in parts, or to format the drive to NTFS. If you want to format, though, make sure it's not one of those you buy already in the case and all and that has programs with it, because it's going to break something on your case. I experienced that, had one from staples, fried the case because I tried formatting to NTFS. Bought a new case and there we go. Anyway, now it's going directly in the computer.
