The virus actually activated as they said. The only thing is that it only made a botnet and is sending queries for adresses. They say the hackers are waiting until the hype goes off to do something with this huge botnet.

I'd go with Nvidia for the reason already stated and also for the reason that Ati drivers suck, despite them making stronger cards. The cards are nothing without good drivers.

Update your graphics drivers. For some reason it did the same for me on Windows 7 until I installed new drivers for my Geforce 9800GT on there. I know they're not the same, but still, worth the try. Else, I don't know what may be causing this right now.

No doubt about that. I guess Ms is getting back at making good products so they don't lose more people to Linux and Mac.

Same for me, except that I'm on Vista on both my computers. Never had any trouble on them ^.^ . I used to have a lot of problems on XP though.

Looks to me like McAfee is doing that. Most of us at college experienced it when they installed McAfee on our laptops. As soon as I removed it, and replaced it with Avira, I didn't have problems anymore, they were all caused by McAfee. So was it for anyone else that uninstalled McAfee, since they were our laptops and not college's laptops. Poor people that loans the laptops at the college..

Weird or wacky facts if you want, but Windows Vista works a hell of a lot better on both my computers than XP used to. Nah, that's just normal, Vista has been much better than XP since SP1.

I don't have much protection either and I don't have it either. I do have a firewall on Vista, but it's always at low since I run a server on this.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I have a friend that first used Windows 7 a few days ago (he never used Vista), and exclaimed that Win 7 was easier to use than Mac OS X, although he has an older Mac laptop (can't remember the name).

You put a blank CD in your CD writer, and move your things by dragging them from your desktop to the CD in different windows :).

Well, it depends. If the college require you to use ms programs like Office and all, you should go for a PC. Same if you want to play games. Make your choice for the mac if you want if what I named does not affect you. Anyway, wait for laura0077 to answer here (I think she will come here soon enough), she knows more than most of us about Macs.

Still, give us some speedtest results. It could only be the ping for all we know.

I think there's something wrong with your paint. I always use paint for screenshots and most of the time I save to .png format, and the usual size I get out of them is much less than 1MB.

You were obviously doing something wrong. 95 is one of Microsofts most stable OS', which is why many businesses still use it. Pretty dangerous to still use that OS if they're connected to the internet. :roll:

Yep, Logitech products are very good. As for the screen, all I will say: For quality, go with HP. For longevity, go with Acer.

I will be using Vista 64bit instead of Vista 32 bit when I get my new 1TB hard drive sometime this week :D. Of course I'll use Ubuntu and windows 7 as well, all on dual boot :P. The hard drive is a WD 1TB black edition with 32MB cache for those that want to know. I got it on sale on ncix.com, for any canadians that want one.
