  1. what exactly are you trying to do? train past 99 str?
  2. My route from alkharid to ardougne for free is to use the glider to gnome stronghold and then the spirit tree to battlefield of khazard. Free and fast trip to get back to wildy agility course whenever I was forced to return to lumby.
  3. I have never had a hit over 25 with full crystal bow as far as I can recall. I wouldnt be too surprised if 26 was max and I was just unlucky.
  4. Alternately, keep 2 or more of every f2p item you will ever use and keep all the rest of the stuff in bank. Thats what I did. That way, if you ever get back members, you wont need to go on a buying spree again.
  5. total xp: 88,842,262 combat skills: 40,335,911 --> 45.4% combat xp.
  6. The max hit according to the calculator was already at 96 with all the bonuses before today's update. How come I havent seen any pics of hits higher than 82? Has anyone seen a higher hit or is everyone blindly following the calculator which could easily be flawed? If there is a legit pic of a higher hit, please post the pic or a link to it.
  7. magic dart hits 19 only after 90 mage. Also, the highest hit with ice barrage is listed as 28. I thought its 30 isnt it?
  8. Theres an ad on TV that I saw recently where a guy buys something at an auction and then asks to sell it off again. It was probably an ad for ebay or something like that. The first thing that came to my mind on seeing the ad was the market in runescape. When people keep buying some item hoping to make a huge profit on it by selling it the next hour or the next day, dont you think theres something wrong with the economy? Funny thing this greed ...
  9. Although i am no longer a member or playing much, I had noticed this trend almost as soon as I got 85 slayer. The first time I had gone to fally to sell a whip drop, there were people shouting out "buying whip for ..." with prices around 200k-300k lower than the going rate. Some sellers are easily lulled into thinking that thats the best they can get and sell at the lower price and within days (or even hours) the going price is supposed to be lowered. Although I stuck to selling the first whip at the highest price I could get, I did quite often sell the later ones at lower prices just to avoid spending any more time in the fally market. Although I did not spend too much time getting whips (I got about 8 whips in 6 weeks) the time spent at abbys per whip seemed to me to average around 6-8 hours. For those looking to make money off whips by training slayer, the gp per hour averaged around 400-600k per hour at the 3.4M per whip that used to exist at the time. Considering the effort and expense required to get the level, thats a measly amount. Runecrafting is far better in that regard since there the reward is assured and not as reliant on luck as with abbys. Once the price of whips falls below 2.4M and you average a whip every 8 hours, it is more worthwhile to craft nats than to try to get whips if you are doing it for the money. At a rate of one whip every 10 hours, whips need to be 3M ea to be worthwhile. However, the abyssals are still good as a training area and in that sense, the whips are just a bonus for which the price doesnt make any difference.
  10. try and try again... if it were easy enough to get in one try it wouldnt be worth it.
  11. The wildy canoe spot is close to some moss giants. For someone wanting to train afk, take an axe and 2 armor pieces and camp at the mossies till you are killed. Set your respawn to lumbridge for an easy trip back.
  12. 99 range. cause its so cool to range. most monsters are weak to range and with safe spots, you never have to bank without good drops. also, the monsters die a lot faster with range than with mage.

so you scammed a new player and now you are proud of it ! way to go...
  14. Runescape is the best free-to-play MMORPG over the long term. I have tried others which are more fun in terms of combat types and graphics and clan events -- the one that stands out to me is called "Astonia" but you can only play it free for one month before you have to start paying. The price is 5 bucks a month - same as runescape; but since it allows you to try out almost all the aspects of game play as a free player, I never felt the need to become a member to try out new things. If you like good graphics and pking, you will easily like Astonia. At the same time, you have the option (similar to WoW) of being a non-pker and still enjoying the game. It too has skills like mining, thieving, herblore and such which improve with levels. It even has merchanting as a skill so that better merchants can make more profit per trade. And these merchants there are actually a sought-after entity because they are quite useful for everyone. For pkers, it has runescape-like features where you get the items of the player you kill and the best part is it keeps a count of how many players you killed and shows it in your description to other players. For mages, it has the option of keyboard shortcuts for spells which is very useful. Also, it has the option to train different aspects of skills so that one can be a "pure" similar to what you find on RS. Since pkers are limited to attacking those within 5 levels of themselves, pures are the best pkers there as well. Best of all was the community. Everyone is very helpful and since the chat is worldwide and even across multiple servers if needed, the rude players get blocked by ever-present moderators. One player that had helped me with getting a high level item at the time I played is now the leader of the biggest clan in the game as well as the highest level player in it.
  15. fletching: 98 slayer: 86 thieving: 82 herblore: 75 agility: 70 farming: 70 runecraft :68
  16. Sorry to hear about your ban and I agree that from the stories I read here on the forums, the bans seem to be based on some faulty logic. I have found your post on the items very useful and I am sure so have a lot of other tip.it users. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
  17. sorry but thats way too expensive a way to do barrows. Your prayer robes are little use in the barrows. This is because the prayer drains a fixed amount in the time it takes to cast 5 spells. To reduce the pray pot usage, you need to kill the brothers AS FAST AS YOU CAN. This means having the best mage attack bonus and using the best spell available to you (preferably better than strike spells). I have usually done the trips using 3-5 doses of pray pots (NOT 6 pray pots). Also remember to run out of the crypt the instant a brother dies. You can save 10 or so pray points just by being a second faster in getting out of the crypt. Doing that in each crypt saves you at least a couple of doses of pray pot. Similarly dont waste time standing inside the crypt and chatting with friends. Its a waste of pray points.
  18. pretty good guide although i must admit I knew most of it already but its going to be useful to all the new slayers. some of the info on the training spots i am going to hate you for having leaked out. About kurasks and turoths, you say that its better to mage them. I dont agree with that. I have always ranged them and the returns have always paid for at least twice the cost of the arrows. Usually the nats alone make up the cost of the arrows used up.
  19. Heres an idea: Jagex actually uses random numbers to generate the hits by you on the monster, the hits by the monster on you, the reward from the chest and all the rest. Every once in a while, one of the thousands of players gets a sequence of random numbers that leads to a 'lucky' result. He tells the story to a friend who has a dream about something similar and relates the story back to the first guy later. Pop comes a new theory about the drops seemingly in a random manner (no pun intended). Of course this is a random idea from a random player but it could just randomly be true :P.
  20. 1) How many hours per day do you play to get to that level and do you think it was worth it? 2) Do you play so much to gain fame in the online game community or is it because you set a personal goal to beat the game? 3) After going past 99 in the skill, what motivates you to keep raising a skill?
  21. The first time I had a mysterious old man event, I thought it was someone asking to talk to me and I tried talking back. Eventually, I saw all the players around me asking me to click on it and that broke the spell. Then theres the time when I was mining and seeing the coal dropped by some other players appear on the ground (usually with them no longer around), I used to think the ore dropped on ground randomly when you mined some rocks. Ah the days of innocence....
  22. If lag fascinates you that much, try a 56k modem connection on a PC with pentium 133 or older CPU. You may not want to take your eyes off the screen. And before you thank me, you are welcome.
  23. never heard of such a bug .... maybe you are just numerically challenged?
  24. I had made a couple of accounts aside from my main basically to take over the items that I couldnt store on my easily filled f2p bank. After the main turned p2p these were forgotten until I again quit members and now I log on to them once in a while and walk around on the lvl 3s :P. Sometimes I train their skills as its more fun to see the levels coming in one trip instead of the hundreds that it takes on my main.
