  1. erm, if you have played as long as you claim, you have seen a autoer. RSC was full of them. Everywhere. Out of the top 50, more than 20 was autoing or rule breaking, ***, number one rs player over a long period of time, autoing. 8 people on my friend list. all above 100 combat which was a great achievement at those rsc times, was openly admitting to use auto programs such as **** and ********.
  2. I'm still holding on to my believes that construction was the one thing that started this. It was the first real money sink in the game, and it did work as a charm. People that would usually have millions now had less millions. Besides rune and dragon armour (both priced very low) and no skill capes there were little things to use the millions on, now you could spend it on a house, or a monster for only 10million gp. The price of 1 gp just got higher, as gp per person ratio just changed. Besides rares dropping for like one week, there dident seem that construction made any hard impact. But as i had predicted, the changes to a large economy that had been going on since january 2001 would not crash or dramatically change over night, (unless a dupe happend that is). But gradually it changed the gp value. People you see today with 4mil in bank and 60 construction would actually have more like 6mil in bank if the construction skill never got released. But jagex did not stop there, more quests with seemingly poitnless rewards compared to the time invested. A new skill hunter, that dont generate any money at all. What it does however, is using up your gaming time, so while you were bussy training hunting to level 80, and gaining 0 gp in the process , you would normally do mining, woodcutting, fighting, or other activites that would give you money. Then we also have other minor impacts, as skill capes, and third age. Everything added up, and you see a smaller market for the classic rares.
  3. This is a discussion board you know. You are supposed to discuss if you think the spec is useful to you or not, and if we are lucky, we will see some side discussions form out of the main discussion that we can learn or draw experience from. Its the essence of a discussion board. I believe. :D
  4. You guys totally miss the point in this article. If you read it again you should see that the exact amount of how much logs cost, and when you successfully burn them 100% is not relevant at all.
  5. Yes, exactly. If you already have a party hat to "buy a skill" you have already put tons of hours into the game. So a bought level 99 construction does not need to be a poorer achievement than getting 99 fishing. People seem to think that if you have "bought a skill" its less admirable than if you had "worked" for it, like fishing, mining etc. People need to remember that actually accumulating the cash takes a lot of time as well. And has probably taken a longer time than the time taken when he/she actually starts to train the skill with the money he/she have.
  6. You clearly missed the point. The thing is that you can convert a party hat into time, and you can convert a skill into time. Then you can compare them to see whats the greatest achievement. Its a personal calculation though. So its not a universal formula you can use to calculate whats greater.
  7. Runelaw: Unless you actually feel offended by abusive language you should not report anyone.
  8. Skill? Money? I think you should take a deeper look on how rs works, and what "wealth" really is in Runescape. When you reach a certant point in Runescape. Its actually not about "skill" at all, its about game progress. And game progress is measured in time invested. So comparing a party hat (game price ~600mil) to firemaking (80mil + X houers invested). (X hours invested = Y mil's.) But its really not as simple as that. Offcourse it is not! Taking it to the next step we would have to analyze how much profit( remember profit is equal to time invested) you get by having a party hat. And how much profit you get when you have reached 99 fletching for example. So, how much profitt you get by having a party hat. No-one can tell. The strength to the party hat is that it seems to increase its value over time. While the fletching skill don't give you any profit by just having 99 fletching, but you have to use it in order to extract profit from it. However if you constantly fletch for profit, getting 99 fletching would probably yield a better profit than getting the party hat. So all tho lets say (as an example) that a red mask and 99 fletching is equal in 'value' (which makes it equal in game progress) does not make it equally good when it comes for -future- game progress. Breakdown: Lets say one hour of game time is currently worth 130k for you. Theoretically lets say that at this rate you would need to spend 200 hours to get a party hat, or 200 hours to get 99 smithing. While thees two things are cost the same time, thus yield the same "game progress", you might be better of getting 99 smithing. because getting 99 smithing would raise your current value on your game time. to lets say 250k an houer. Instead of 130k an houer. While with a party hat, it might raise like 30mil in price over a year. But your game time would still stay at only 130k worth. So it depends on your style of playing. If you plan on quitting for a year. a party hat with a current game value of "200" would be a better investment than 99 smithing with a current game value of "200".
  9. Nope, not playing name: Bluerose13x Still in highscores. Last time i saw bluerose was in the wilderness agility course in summer 2004.
  10. He got banned before he could reach 99hp.(?) I was talking about the fighter "edition" :) Ps. People should note that Ashley is no longer banned. He got unbanned in JageX mass unbanning. Strange tho, as he was banned for account sharing. His char was almost on 24-7. Still he got unbanned after more than a year with a perm ban. Quite strange.
  11. Bluerose13x TKS Ashley Those names are glued into my mind. I would put Muhahaha in there also, but i cant remember if it was Muhahaha or Muhahahaha or whatever his name was :P
  12. Well.. I have spent the week killing more than 5k dust devils. I use the bones to peaches spell. So I can loose 8hp on average for each dust devil. If i loose more i will need to bank to withdraw food. I managed to stay there for more than 2000 kills. Then suddenly. I had a ruff round. and i did not manage to get 1:1 bone:peach ratio. Altho i had managed it for more than 2000 kills. So. Things are just random. You need to accept it and learn it. So, no. They have probably not become stronger.
  13. There are too many people "loving" zamorak. So being a Guthix follower just don't bring in any balance. So i'm with Saradomin.
  14. I have a card that don't charge anything on transfers, no fees on using the card in any form, in Europe, America or anyplace in the world. Atm's, no charge. Only fee is 10$ a year. Yes it is a Visa. I think that is a good deal. Why dont you just get a credit card. If you are above 18 its no problem at all. If you are under, get a visa electron.
  15. What have you been drinking? By the time you have gathered the 100's of mills for the big bones, found bone sellers and bought them all, and buried them. You would have level 99 mining twice. And you are talking about 1k bones.. Thats only 15k xp. We need more than 13 000 000 you know,
  16. Abyssal Whip at 2.4 mil. Quite cheep at the time. :D
  17. Defender2516 glad to see you on tip.it ( Ps. I'm 83 agility) Well, agility is quite slow at higher levels. 50k an hour is not very fast. (When you are 80+). Remember that you need total focus on the screen, all the time. Also, its no challenge at all. And it is static. While in combat you might get an insane hit streak, or you might get hit 7 times in a row by a chicken. Agility is doing the same over and over without change. At level 75 you dont fail the monkey course anymore. You might argue that woodcutting is static aswell. But when you are cutting a magic tree another person might show up and cut down your tree. In agility noone can interfear or affect your training with actions. You are alone, doing the same thing, without change. No wonder it gets boring.
  18. Well, its not proof. There might be a new game, based on the Runescape "storyline". Like Warcraft strategy series. (1 - 3) and World Of Warcraft mmorpg. So it might not be a RS3. But rather a entirely new game created by JageX.
  19. hm, Thanks for the info guys. I could swear that there were only 1 rune rock back in rs classic. (last time i visited heroes guild) But offcourse I might be wrong.
  20. Can someone post game pictures of the new skeletons and zombies? :D This sounds like a quite nice update. I always enjoy the "In other news..." section. I like that they have made the leaf bladed spear untradeable.
  21. Fletching cape. I think that is the easiest one. Its fast to level, and it yields a profit at the same time. Logs are too cheap because of F2p. F2p can get logs, but they cant use them. (They can use them for firemaking offcourse, but there is no point in that in f2p). Too many logs = very low prices. Cheep fletching exp.
  22. Slayer. If i'm not training the skill i kill monsters such as dust devils. Currently camping at dust devils 2k of 16k kills.
  23. Started summer 2001. RSC combat: 74 Total: 1000 RS2 combat: 102 total 1536 (Fredz)
  24. Indeed 400 - 600k / hour is good. But when using the wilderness mining site (2 rocks) you risk getting killed by player killers. Making 500k constant each hour in the long run less likely. Off course you might have developed anti-pk tactics. Or maybe your combat is 110+ so your pulling it up. But this will vary from player to player, and its a luck factor involved. Offcourse you have the Heroe's guild spot (1 rock) and the Temple of light (1 rock). But I doubt you can pull of 500k an hour at those places, mining the ore, and selling it. Making 500k an hour. :-k You will at least need to get your hands on a permanently buyer to achieve that kind of speed.
