  1. Been waiting 7+ years to put an "i" in my username. This update is gonna be awesome.
  2. Feathers, runes, all those items traded up in the millions ever day...There must be so many. Kinda scary when you think about sheer volume.
  3. Sometime during the public rs1 beta...What year is that, 2001? I was in 5th grade lol. Now I'm in college. Talk about growing up with a game.
  4. You have to be s***ing me! This is the best news of the day for me (coupled with the Alch update) I sure do hope this is legit and has a chance of happening! I have wished for a new name for many many many months now (but without having to loose all my stats) Aside from personal benefits, imaging how awesome being able to change your name would be for Clans. Clan Tags anyone? That will make clans stand out a lot more and get improved recognition. I Love Jagex. Same here, you have no idea how long I've wanted to add an "i" in 1wngedangel. I think they increased the character limit for usernames sometime after I made the account, so I'm totally ready for the opportunity to change it.
  5. Pages of text are sure hard to load. OT, I would love a list sorted by year+month of registration, simply because it would be cool. I've wanted to know for a while now when exactly it was I started playing this game, just too long ago to remember :/
  6. I hate to cite WoW again, but its rated T (meaning if you're a teenager, aka 13, then you can play it). They have an optional censor, and I haven't been able to find a single lawsuit over offensive language. I don't think a lawsuit would hold any ground given that runescape has legal terms you must agree to before playing, stating you are over a given age. You can't sue over an underage child getting verbally abused in-game, because they agreed to the legal terms before they started playing, and were in violation of those terms from the beginning.
  7. I really fail to see how anyone has a problem with this. If your censor is on, you play runescape exactly as you do now. There would be absolutely no change, other than perhaps seeing *'s a little more often. If its off, nothing is starred out. WoW implements on optional censor, which is on by default, and you have to turn off manually. It's nothing complicated. How would this effect children at all? If their censor is on, nothing changes from how it is now. People can cuss all they want, its still going to show up as a bunch of *'s to that little kid you want to protect so badly. I think some people are interpreting an "optional censor" as this: If my censor is off, everyone can see me swearing, regardless of their settings. Having a censor would mean that you, as the user, determine exactly what you see. For whoever said Jagex wants to avoid lawsuits, I'm pretty sure having an optional censor that is on by default and must be changed by the user (with a warning of some form) makes them immune to any legal trouble.
  8. This man has the right idea. We need some Max Harvest vids ASAP
  9. Seems to make good sense to me. I remember all the quests but you had some stuff in there I'd never seen before, so kudos to you for discovering it.
  10. Sorry but I like to play my games, not work on them. If you consider a game work you shouldn't be playing it. Move on or stop complaining, this isn't rants. How long have you been playing? Excuse me for failing to believe you have any idea of what its like to have played this game for 6-7 years.
  11. Someone else posted this, and I agree with them. You should consider taking a break. I've had an account with this game since the public beta, but I think I would be in your position if I hadn't taken several breaks since then. When you come back after 8-9 months (or hell, even 2-3), there are always so many new things to do (at least there have been in the past), not to mention you're more interested in grinding skills again, that it takes a while to get bored again. Besides, then you have all that free time to pursue other interested. You might even find out that you've outgrown the game entirely (although I've thought that more than once).
  12. One thing I noticed reading through your original post (I haven't read through all your responses, I'm in class right now and will repost if I find anything to reply to), you advocate that people shouldn't have to grind incessantly to get levels. Which is all fine and good until you talk about money. You want less reliance on money, with players being able to use equipment based on stringent level requirements. But if you can rapidly gain exp, then everyone would be able to use the best items anyway, and there wouldn't be these rare, respectable items in the first place. In short, whether you meant to or not, you want the game to be easier. I think that, if Jagex actually implemented these suggestions, you would find out pretty quickly that these changes are something you don't actually want. The sense of accomplishment from 99ing a skill after countless hours of work, or finally earning that party hat, are what keep a lot of people playing this game. Yes there are people who play for the community or just for fun, but I don't think you'd disagree that you felt happy when you achieved a goal through hard work, whether it be in runescape or real life.
  13. With the introduction of summoning, I'd probably say (for p2p) that a high combat would be 120-125+ High skill level would be around 1950+ imo.
  14. Before that there was "Paralyze Monster", which stopped monsters from attacking altogether. Didn't work on players, but it certainly made monster killing easy. Obviously they got rid of it for a reason.
  15. So someone in another thread (which was locked and referred to this thread) said that if the quest gives you a level upon completion you miss a cutscene? Is this actually true, and if so can someone sum up the last cutscene (I got a thieving level :/ ), and the last scene I saw was that a statue had been built for Zanik and myself.
  16. Been playing since public rs1 beta, not sure about the month, I was very young lol. Decided to get my account hacked a month before scythes (by the way, changing your password to "goldrush" doesn't give you 99 mining (I was 11ish :( )). I have a scythe on my account now, so unfortunately no ears for me.
  17. Wow really? Man time flies...
  18. Seeing as Jagex is focusing on improving already existing features this year, it would make sense that they're going to finish up some of the older quest lines. I just hope its not a continuation of the Red Axe storyline. Those were terrible quests IMO.
  19. Statius Warhammer (Finally sold the other day for 4.3m, 4m under what it was when I got it :/) Rune kite (g) I really want a dfs though :{
  20. Seriously? This is already widely practiced by clans.
  21. On a somewhat different note. Lets not forget RFD continued the Cooks Assistant storyline (using the word "storyline" very loosely of course). They may (although reading this thread and the speculation about MEP3 makes me doubt this more and more) release a sequel to a quest that would have seemed like it was over, such as cooks assistant did prior to RFD. I mean really, who saw a sequel for that coming? Seeing as so many people have predicted MEP3 already, I'd almost be a little disappointed if jagex didn't throw us a curveball. Not that I'd let that get in the way of having access to Prifddinas (What an awkward word to spell).
  22. They said in the BTS this month that MA won't happen for a while still. I'd expect it sometime in the summer at the earliest.
  23. I saw someone else mention it, but I'd really like to see the conclusion to the Fairy Tale series. Maybe some serious updates to farming, additional trees/plots etc, its been a long time since anythings been done with that skill. That being said, looking at Legends and RFD, 150 will probably incorporate many if not all skills, and give out some decent exp for all of them, in addition to a lamp or something similar (Remember that both Legends and RFD rewarded the player with exp in a skill of their choosing). No reason to break from tradition now.
  24. I remember back when I first started in RS1 Beta, and there was only 1 server. I sat in the varrock bank all night picking up that 3gp spawn because this guy offered to sell me a MITHRIL SHORT SWORD OMG for 500gp. That was hard too, because back then you had to physically move every five minutes or it would log you out. That and you couldn't stand on top of people, so I had to make sure that the other 2 people that were there couldn't get my gold (Those two people were probably the only other people on, I remember getting on at midnight once and seeing "There are currently 0 people playing") And then the time I collected Bananas on Karamja for a Mithril Long...
