  1. Wii dated and priced for Australia. Link Here Still havent heard anything about Europe dates yet.
  2. To be honest, I'm not totally sure. But hey, you have all this money to spend on one, you can always get a second battery. Keep it close and when your current one looks like its about to run out, save all your stuff, turn it off, swap to the fully powered battery and yeah, you'll have more power once again. Didn't think of that before, but the second battery is an option which lets you run your laptop for twice as long, cause there's two batteries you can have at your disposal.
  3. What are you more worried about, an uber powerful system or portability and battery life? You cant really choose both cause uber system = uber power useage.
  4. About the Europe launch being pushed back. So that may be the reason for the March 2007 rumours. Or i hope it is anyway. If Nintendo don't want to screw it up, they'll have Wii shipping world wide before Christmas. And on the subject of region free games. So it is region free, but only if the publishers feel like making it that way. Its pretty much a given that all 1st party games will be region free, but 3rd party publishers can decide whether to stick the region encoding on or not. Who thinks EA will use it so they can make more cash? I do
  5. Ill pass, the last thing i need is another MMORPG to get addicted to, especially with work and school and exams... -.-
  6. Give it time, there is still a European and American Event to come. The one today was just the Japanese one. Times for the European and American events are here. Vooks.net is expecting the Australian dates to be released at one of these events, and hopefully it will be. [/shameless plug
  7. Extra controllers shouldnt be that much more than what extra current gen controllers cost and they will probably come with a strap considering the one you get with the console has one as well.
  8. And Wii Sports thrown in too, even awesomer. Know whats funny? Japan arent getting it till 2nd December. You lucky, lucky Americans.
  9. You might aswell just get a DVD burner, cause its always handy to be able to burn large amounts of data to DVD in case you need to format or just back up all your data. Something like this should do quite nicely
  10. What you'll get with the system is as follows: 1 Wii 1 Wii controller strap 1 Nunchuck controller 1 AC adaptor 1 AV cable 1 stand 1 support plate (dunno what this is) 1 sensor bar 1 sensor bar stand 2x battery (AA) And the Wii's that are shipping to America get WiiSports bundled in with it. Now for an Australian release date... Source: IGN
  11. The thing that occured to me is the FX-60 is a desktop chip, thus it will use more power which means faster drain on the battery and more heat. On the other hand, the Turion chip in the Alienware system i specced is a chip which is made for laptops which means less power consumption and lower temps. I could be wrong though, but i havent heard of any FX-60's being designed specifically for laptops, so im guessing it is just going to be a modified desktop chip which does have its advantages and disadvantages over a Turion powered laptop. So, is power consumption a big deal to you? Do you need the battery to be able to last for long amounts of time?
  12. If you got one of the FNW Laptops, something along the lines of this would be around the top of the range for laptops spec wise and what not. Also, if you have all this money to burn, why not consider a Laptop and Desktop PC? Ill take another look around and see if i can find anything better than the one ive listed above though. Edit: I just realised that Alienware might be worth a look. Even though their Desktop PCs are over prices junk, you cant build a laptop so something like this could be what your after. I realise none of that means nothing to you, but yeah, other people here will know what it means and they can agree with the parts there or disagree and hopefully provide a better alternative.
  13. Falcon NorthWest make some pretty damn sweet laptops and they are rather expensive and have quite good specs, so you might find something for your liking there. Can get a custom one with an FX-60 and 512MB 7900Go with 2GB RAM and 2 120GB hard drives for around $6,400 and there still other stuff you can customise after that, so if you have the money to burn and want a pretty uber laptop, you might want to have a look at their stuff.
  14. One thing about that, IBM have been producing chips for Wii since July, so there wont be as big a shortage as there was with 360 or will be with the PS3 so you probably wont be able to resell them for stupidly high prices on ebay.
  15. its a disc format with higher memory, pretty much a godsend for lazy companies who cant be botherd to take out unused features in games and creating bugs. i think EA said they where excited by the new format which says it all really. How true.. how true. Man I'd shudder to think if EA and Sony got together for something. EA are supporting the Wii as well and it seems they think it has a very bright future ahead of it. Link
  16. If you live in Europe or Australia anyway. Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/5319190.stm The lack of big name launch titles, its stupidly expensive price tagand now this. Its all making the PS3's future look even less bright than what it already was, in the PAL territories anyway. What are your thoughts on this?
  17. It should run RS perfectly fine, and no you don't need the card. My little 1ghz AMD plays RS flawlessly with it's onboard video. It's definatly not your hardware. If you're running on dialup, there's a good chance that may be the reason. If you have DSL or cable, then you may want to run a quick spyware/virus scan, just to be sure that isn't the cause. That little phrase doesnt make much sence....AMD makes processors....not video cards or motherboards...if it has onboard video then that deals with the motherboard not the processor... Made perfect sense to me, what he is saying is that his system with a 1GHz AMD and onboard video can play RS just fine.
  18. And i also remember being told that same thing at the Melbourne Aquarium, stingrays wont attack unless they are provoked, so it wouldn't surprise me if he was stirring it up, considering the way he has interacted with dangerous animals in the past. Anyway, sad thing to happen. May he RIP.
  19. He's using a random image script, which cycles through all the sigs he has selected, hes not just changing them every few seconds :P Eh, what would i patent... The transistor perhaps? Every modern day piece of electronics these days uses them.
  20. I think every one gets lag to some extent on world 2 fally, no matter how great their computer is. But yeah, a 6600GT will play RS fine, so will the 64MB on-board graphics for that matter.
  21. Highly unlikely considering the cheapest Conroe CPU is still around ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã200. Now an Allendale chip on the other hand can be gotten for around ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã100-150. The main difference is that Allendale chips have half the L2 cache the Conroe chips do, but they will still perform quite well, especially after an overclock  Even then, ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã500 might not be enough to get a whole new Core 2 Duo system because keep in mind, you'll need the CPU, a new motherboard, DDR2 RAM of some sort, a PCI-e video card of some sort, larger hard drive, ect, ect.
  22. Another reason why i hate Norton Anti-Virus and their associated products. Two things you can do here, find the options for the firewall and see if you can find something related to Steam and if its got Steam as a blocked program, unblock it and it should work. The second option is to get rid of Norton Firewall, but unless you can get another program, i suggest against that.
  23. What he said, come back a bit closer to christmas and ask us again, cause i can guarantee that there will be something better out and prices will have changed.
  24. Look here Suox, don't come in here with an attitude like that when you can't even spell properly, it just makes you look like a fool.
