15 September 2008 - Summer's End
I'll try with my 82 defense when I finished the quest today. I got it at 90 def.

Spiritual mages
Then you had bad luck. In a task I usually get 2 pairs of boots so that's roughly 1/70-1/100. That said I've had tasks with no drops and others with 3.

So uh... You decide
If your wrist hurts then I would stop that sort of activity, it can make you blind! 99 cooking or fletching will be your best bet. Cooking use gauntlets then lobsters/sharks. Fletching buy yews and bow string. Fletch logs, then attach then sell to alchers. I made a fair bit doing this, but this was long before the GE so may not be a profit anymore.

Fishing Help!
Monks will get you more cash but it's still slowish money compared to runecrafting.

holy elixir worth buyin?
Don't buy unless you can afford the sigil as well. Even then the shield will probably be cheaper. Prices will drop so just be patient.

how to level slayer
Then don't bother with slayer. Some monsters are going to be nigh on impossible to mage.

Spiritual mages
Zammy V Sara people will always argue about. Personally I prefer Zammy as I don't need a Sara item and train via slayer so want the melee XP as well. If you are camping I can see the lure of Sara, however you don't need a Bunyip at Zammy so can prolong trips with 2/3 spirit terrorbirds to hold potions for you as you store the runes. If you take a full inven of prayer pots then theres no room to store loot. Dragon boots are approximetley 1/70 kills and you will get a fair few nats too. Other decent runes don't drop in high quantities but every little helps yeah?

body talismans?
One guy asked for donations of body runes and got loads of them as most people want to be rid of them as they are pretty usless.
-
What Armour?
Get Guthans and train via slayer.

Greater Demon task - Zamorak GWD
If he is a lesser demon then he wouldn't be a greater demon as well. It's one or the other. Although he should be a greater demon as he certainly isn't lesser!

Dwarf Cannon.. Worth it?
Yeah it's probably best to stick to X-Bow and bolts. Just buy them and choose a monster with decent drops to pay for them. Do Animal Magnetism quest, you will get an accumulator which picks up a lot of your bolts/arrows for you.

whips price, will it rise?
Most people won't PK with whips. They will 3 item with a DDS. All the people who do train with whips will use a non-PK World.
-
whips price, will it rise?
Lol when I started whips were 5mil+ I brought my first one for 3.2mil. They continually fluctuate between 1.2-1.5mil atm. I doubt they will rise much more.

Slaying Kurasks, best to range?
Melee with leaf bladed sword. Prayer gear and prayer pots work well, I can offset the cost of these as they are great slayer XP.
-
please close no longer needed
Shot putting is the way to go. It uses run energy so either take a tip in the Oo'gLoog pool or bring super energy restores. You'll get max points each throw, spare a few you will randomly drop.

Where is the "Axe Hut"?
Use the lever in Ardy then run North, slash the web and go East. That it just ahead. It's the hut with the axes in.
-
Dwarf Cannon.. Worth it?
Only really worth it if you are a hardcore slayer and then only because it speeds up certain tasks and not because it's great XP. Red Chins are best range XP but also expensive. From 17 though I would x-bow to at least 40-50. Try lessers.

If you use Jennica's ring to enter the Spirit World via any Wilderness portal then you "leave" the Wilderness. Therefore you can use teleports from high level wildy. I just used a Games Necklace from the one in the Rogues Castle neat Chaos Elemental. Makes treasure trailing a little easier as you only need to dodge revs/Chaos Elemental one way.

we dont know how to get them, but i do agree in 2 aspects of. It would be nice to get that much $ or, more importantly to me that amount of $ is somewhat relative to the shield being "good" and if it can be gotten for free. Great. Well not "free". Any decent item in the game is obtained through combat. An item is released and every high level adds to there already high bank balance by farming the item. GWD, DFH, DFS etc. etc. Now I'm a high level but I still hate the idea of PC Product noobs who only ever train combat getting a monopoly on all the best stuff. Whereas whack a 250qp quest requirement on a quest to open a new dungeon to obtain expensive shields as drops, kinda evens the balance a little bit. My issue is if this quest is that sorta quest, the reqs are far far too low. Only 1 otherquest prequisite and reasonabley low levels.

I hope those prices are wrong. Would be nice for a quester to be able to make lots of money, but this quest has low reqs.

Time to Hit 99 Woodcutting?
Willows are fast. If you have 92fm and can get the Inferno Adze it makes it a lot faster as 50% of the logs get burned, giving you woodcutting and firemaking XP.

Swiftkit
Yeah it's safe and allowed. Jagex can't dicate what you use to access there game anyway and I think they realised that. Third party software is REQUIRED to play Runescape as it runs with Java. So IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome etc. etc. are all third party software. The reason they got so narked with SwiftSwitch was because it could be used to switch worlds and also block adverts. Obviously these things are not in Jagex's interests so they made them illegal, then back tracked pretty sharpish but added some clarity. If it came to court (which it never would) Jagex wouldn't have a leg to stand on. If they want to dicate what you use to play the game then they need to make it a [Caution: Executable File] not in Java. The whole point of Java is so it can be used on various platforms.

Farming/Herblore
Spectres are the best bet. Nechs are not that great in the long run. If you are rich (probably are as you GWD a lot) try cannoning them in the Smoking Kills dungeon. Only "bad point" is you have to bank loads as they drop some nice herbs/seeds. A Macaw will net you better herbs quicker but a Tortoise or Terrorbird will let you hold more.
