    very simple
  2. A Souls Bane was probably the easiet quest I ever did. Even Cooks Assistant was harder (as I was newbie and couldn't find the egg)
  3. Yeah you get the same result with Fire Giants but with better drops and easier kills. \ Also you want Crimsons if you are serious about summoning.
  4. Surprisingly... Brine Rats. I joke you not, they drop tons of the things as well as noted raw lobster and shark. They don't hit that hard and have low HP. Try em.
  5. Slayer. IMOH you don't really need much more than 85 def for regular combat. Strength and Attack are more important. If you are doing GWD then def is more important, but still not as much so as strength or attack.
  6. Melee with black mask works well. Wear prayer gear, proselyte is best. I prefer mage over range on dragons.
  7. Mine updates daily, or when I refresh it from the site in question.
  8. Rune Crossbow is better as you can use a shield. If that shield is the Zammy book you have great range bonuses. As for bolts, you should use at least mithril, I recommend addy. Use the accumulator and you won't lose out. If you do, you're ranging the wrong monsters.
  9. TBH it's not worth your time getting junk. The time you spend making it could be spent doing something you enjoy and probably making you even more cash. Obviously if you have the need to gain XP in a skill which results in junk then knock yourself out. Just sell the sword for it's price plus 200k junk. You're still going to make some cash. Oh and it's not junk if it has a use :D
  10. Either ask for it back from the guy who gave it to you or Kill people in the Dungeon place from the quest until they drop a Pendant.
  11. Why do we keep getting these topics? It's at least 3 per day. Gold = Fire giants Crimson = Waterfiends/Dust Devils/Nechs Green = Bloodvelds/Dragons Blues = Gargoyles/Kalphite (Still rare though)

I understand what he is saying. Say for example the max hit was 10. If Jagex states that a familiar has a chance at hitting an extra 5 EVERY hit then the max hit should be 15 and the statement of it hitting an extra 5 becomes null and void. It's like saying your max hit is 35, plus maybe an extra 2 each time. Totally pointless.
  13. Yeah the scimmy is I believe a third faster. Therefore in every 3 scimmy hits, you'd only have hit twice with the longsword. So say max hit with scimmy is 12, and on the longsword 14. If you hit your max every time the scimmy would net you 36 damage and the longsword 28. Therefore in the long run it is better to use the scimmy.

I'm not saying all drops should be "on task" only. The current drops should stay as is otherwise it wouldn't be fair. My whole point of the rich getting richer is a shortfall of the current system. Anyone who had got to 85 when slayer was released (and therefore made millions on whips) could go and kill Spiritual Mages when they were released and make millions from them as well. Obviously the 85 slayers deserve a chance to kill the mages as well, but they camped there and then very quickly the price of the boots plummeted. This isn't fair on the up and coming slayers. People are not going to get discouraged if they do not a rare drop. I've done plenty of Abby Demon tasks with no whip and my last task of Mages didn't even yield a pair of boots, yet I'm still training slayer. There is a difference between rare drops and slayer drops. My suggestion is to make certain drops available only if you are on task. Therefore everyone is getting a fair crack of the whip and you are being rewarded for training slayer. However I can see how this will cause animosity and believe the slayer points = slayer armour would work better. As for making more people train slayer it can only be a good thing. Slayer means you get different monsters to fight so there will be less camping at popular monsters and more people spread evenly around the map. Slayer cape is never going to be that popular. People would rather get fast XP from camping and fast cash from GWD.
  15. Try going to YouTube and searching for "Hypercam" theres a few videos there which show how to get rid of that message.
  16. The forum boards are the same as they always were. Also you answered your own question in the first post, the file size is too small and therefore the movie too short to be allowed on YouTube.
  17. Video cards do not "degrade" they either work, or they don't. The issue is probably with your monitor. Currently Runescape uses basic graphics and therefore you don't need a specialized video card for it to work. Don't overclock, if your video card is onboard you could screw up the whole motherboard.
  18. 30GB? It's 2008 man, 80GB is cheap as chips. I picke dup a 500GB one for £80.

This isn't really a rant, just an observation, so please no flaming. When I first started Runescape it was shortly after the release of the Slayer skill. I soon learned that whips were awesome and that getting 85 slayer would mean I could get whips and therefore 3.5mil (price at the time) easily. Obviously it took me a while to get to 85 slayer and when I did, whips were only 1.3mil. Obviously over time the number of whips in circulation increased, as did the amount of people with 85 slayer meaning a price plummet. Is this really fair though? Normally I would say yes, you'd expect a depreciation in most things. However with slayer things are a little bit different. From the way slayer is designed its rewards are its drops. Yes you get combat XP, but you could get that from no-lifing at Dust Devils. Without the rewards, slayer becomes a pointless skill to raise unless you have the determination to get 99 for the cape. So I got to thinking about all the "rare" slayer drops and there change in price. All of them, bar none have dropped in price. So the early slayers got all the benefit from the rewards. Nechs used to be an achievement to reach, 200k for rune boots was a nice little bonus. However now they are worthless, made almost obselete from the release of the Dragon Boots. When the Dragon Boots were released people camped out at Spirtual Mages, some of these players already having profited from the earlier releases. So what motivation do new users have to training slayer? Well whips are still a big draw I am sure. 1.5mil is still a lot of money to a new player. After that the Dark Bow, a level 90 monster required to kill which most high level slayers dislike. What other skill offers such low incentives to train? Sure if you train slayer you will profit with regular items, gain charms and the like but that's seriously nothing if you can camp out at monsters or do the GWD. What can Jagex do to improve slayer for newer players? Well firstly the slayer points system gets a big thumbs up. It's main selling point is to beneift from the rewards you have to train slayer. Unlike whips, which can be hunted by anyone with 85 slayer, whether they are training slayer or not. Hopefully Jagex will add new "slayer" armour only purchasable with slayer points. The Fighter Torso for example would suit this system very well as it is used my many mid-level slayers. How about some new level 70 required armour? Stats similar to Barrows but they don't degrade and only available to hardcore slayers? That's an incentive if I heard of one. Secondly, and more controversially, any new drops from slayer monsters should only be obtained if you are on task. Dark Bow was released and players camped at Dark Beasts for days. The rich get richer. Same scenario with Dragon Boots. Dragon Boots are one of the main pulls to do the task, if they were worthless (which if Barrows Boots ever come out they will be) then mages would get skipped like rangers. However if a new item is released and you have to be on task to obtain it this instantly makes the item more valuable and more profitable for the slayer. It also means more people start training slayer. What do people think?
  20. In seriousness I wouldn't be that blatant. However I would rather my kids play Runescape than hang out around shops. It really worries me that parents don't let there kids do certain things online. There is far more trouble and danger outside these days.
  21. Scarabites under the bank with a cannon rules \ However it is pretty intense as you get all 3 styles on you. Apparantly there is a room with only melee but I've not found it. Best I've come up with is near one of the exits, cannon so it can see loads, then just hide away, killing the mage/melee which spawn there. Only 1 at a time so you're not rushed. My favourite task is probably Abby Demons or Abby Spectres. Least favourite is Skelly Wyverns. Only one I've blocked.

Took me my 2nd attempt and I was 70 agility at the time.
  23. cat666 replied to NeverGo's topic in Help and Advice
No but it makes Dagganoths, Kalphites, Scarabites, Abby Spectres, Bloodvelds and Cave Crawlers much faster. Dunno if it works on Turoth or Kursaks as I have not had these since the update.
  24. Zammy is faster. Prayer is needed but if you train slayer you will get ranarrs from other monsters so it really isn't an issue.
  25. Tell her if you can't play this game then you're going out with you're hoodie mates to "hang out" outside the shops, drinking cheap cider and mugging old people.
