Guthans- Buy now or wait?
Bunyips are OK for tiding you over but I always bring Guthans just to be totally safe. Some monsters hit hard, even through high armour, and if they get 3 lucky hits in your under 50% health and struggling. My method is wearing Guthans plate/skirt as standard and then subbing in Spear/Helm if I need to heal. This way it's only 2 inventory spaces. I use a Bunyip as it saves using Guthans, which compared to whip/defender is slow. Bunyips are about 1.8k on the GE. Buy them instead of making them if you're worried about the cost/time element. Each slayer task usually nets me at least 20k which is more than enough for the 2 Bunyips and the little damage to Guthans. I don't have a SGS yet. Probably won't bother with one tbh.

Is whip+defender really still a comparable way to train cb?
Whip/Defender is the standard as it's the cheapest, fastest combo. You can swap them both for a Sara Sword or the defender for a Dragonfire Shield without ill effect. You really need to be looking to work on your stat boosting armour. Aim for the highest str bonus. If you train via slayer then use a black mask/slayer helm. Always use super pots. Best XP in game would be praying at the Ape Atoll Gorillas. You can use Piety for an extra boost as the altar is so close, and also protect from melee. Bring a few super anti's for the spider who poisons and your set.

Am I strong enough for "Smoking Kills"?
Easy quest.

broad tipped bolt problems
40-55 slayer is a piece of cake. After you hit 55 you can use the bolts outside of slayer. Or you could use addy bolts.

How to best use slayer points?
Lunar magic makes the rings worthless, and I'm sure more than half of us have that on while slaying. If you do the math on this (and I did), when you compare 250 death and 1k mind for 35 pts to 10k slayer exp for 400 points... The slayer exp costs you ~200 gold per point. That's significantly more than any other skill, and there are plenty of other ways to get bonus slayer exp (jade vine, for example.) The ring isn't just useful for slayer. Desert tele is very useful.

How to best use slayer points?
The rings are worth it, if only for the tele to Sumona. Also I wouldn't put it past Jagex to release a quest which requires fletching of broad arrows/bolts so I'm buying that in readiness

GOP Tabs
I think it is worth it. Each round will net you about 1k tokens so thats roughly 25 tabs. I make deaths and the tabs are a lifesaver. Coupled with an abysall familiar I made 1700ish deaths in 40 mins. Admitedly I spent another 40 mins playing the minigame but it breaks the monotany.

agil help
I would advise Ape Atoll from about 70. You still fail but it is minimal. Before that stick to Wildy. From 75 it's Ape Atoll all the way.

All Fired up - 14 Beacon guide. Slightly improved.
Yes you can do them in any order. I found it more sensible to do the Trollheim Shortcut before the Death Plateau. Then bank before the last 3. Got the items no issue.

All Fired up - 14 Beacon guide. Slightly improved.
My tactics. Go through the beacons once to get a feel for where they are. Add logs to each. The first 2 mages, second 2 yews and the rest maples. Fix all entry points and satisfy the attendants. Then I split the actual lighting into 3 runs all with Terrorbird and Scrolls. Pools will work also. Pay the attendants. Wear lightest gear you can with glory and duelling ring (in case of mistakes) RUN 1: Start Canifis 10 mages 10 yews Varrock Teleport 10 Maples (In Familiar) 1 River Salve 2 Rag and Bone Man Tele to Varrock 3. Jolly Boar 4. North of Varrock Castle 5. North of GE 6. Edgeville RUN 2: Start Edgeville Catspeak Amulet 15 Maples Games Necklace Falador Tele Trollheim Tele 10 Maples (In Familiar) This one is a bit slower. 7. Monastery Tele to Falador 8. Goblin Village Games Necklace 9. Burthorpe Tele Trollheim 10. Trollheim Shortcut 11. Death Plateau (Accessed from Wildy, run South from Trollheim shortcut.) RUN 3: Start Edgeville or Castle Wars Super Restore x 2 (depends on your stats, maybe 3) 5 Maples Tele to Trollheim Tele to Trollheim 12. GWD (You will probably need a Super Restore to light the beacon as the ice effect drains your stats) 13. Temple in Wildy 14. Ice Plateau (Before you get to the ice giants and spiders and other nasty things protect from melee, may need a super restore) I easily did it this way, including a huge mess up where I took super energy and not super restores. I still had time to glory to Edge, get the correct pots, and continue from beacon 12. No warning messages at all, so seriously don't worry about going back to the first few, mages will suffice. All in all I think this way is pretty cheap and accessible to most. I could have faffed around with Goblin Spheres, Mind Tele and Lunar Tele/Ice Tele but its not really worth it if you can suffice with just a glory and a standard teleport spells.

Crafting, herblore, construction and smithing to 80
I'm kinda in the same boat as I want all my skills 80+ Luckily I have 2 of the ones you want 80, 80 already! However my Crafting was 80 a while ago. Using Lunar magic I was able to superglass make. Before summoning this made me millions and in the process got me a nice lot of crafting XP. This method still works, but with prices increased the profit isn't as much anymore. Herblore I just stuck my MTK on herbs. Then every once in a while made a load of potions en-mass buying vials and seconds from the GE. Sell most of the pots on the GE. Made a little bit of cash this way as I write off the 525k each week for MTK. Harralander tar is another great way as tar stacks. Just take loads to Chaos Druids with a pestle and mortar and make tar as you kill, people drop harrlanders often so make use of those too. Smithing is high on my list to get to 80. Gold is the best way with the gauntlets. I am looking into which item to make with the resulting gold bars. Alchers buy bracelets/ammys so if you have a stash of gems you can get bonus crafting XP and still break even/make minimal loss. Construction is a money pit. I leave mine as my TOG skill. For 80 I would go with Oak Larders or Dungeon Doors for the cheapest way. I advise leaving it to the last skill though and whacking all your genie, tomes, tog etc. on it.

puzzle help.. last line
Work horizontally, it's a lot easier. As per TipIt's guide do the top line, then the next line, then the next line. For the last 2 lines work vertically from left to right. The last 3 pieces will then just fit into place. These really are very easy to do once you know how.

Granite Lobster
It won't let you do new stuff but it allows you to do what you're doing at a +4 level. So if you fished sharks at 76 with a granite lobster it would be as if you were 80.

Firemaking
Do MTK. You will get approx 3k a week and make on the seeds/nests as well.

If you need Ned he is in Draynor Village.

Noob quesiton
Dunno tbh but I do know using the scroll is pointless as it fails a lot. However still use a beaver when wc as the invisible boost does help and it forages a few planks and logs.

Rune Defender or Dragon Square?
Defender always. Use Guthan's/Bunyip to heal. The only other shield I would consider is the Dragonfire Shield but that's a bit expensive.
-
Ahrim's Hood - Did i do a stupid mistake?
People buy spears on the GE to sell with junk so you could have sold. You would have lost about a mil on the "street" price but it isn't really a loss seeing as the junk the other people use is actually worth that mil.

Cannoning Trolls?!
Only issue with the ice trolls is they require constant attention. No time for chatting to friends etc.

Just quick question, Woodcutting releated
Why are you asking for woodcutting advice from 98-99?. Just do what you did from 1-98 for a little bit longer. Unless you are making this topic in an attempt to gain kudos, in which case it's the wrong topic.

August 26th 2008 - All Fired Up
Yes we do want free trade back, just without the scamming and RWT. GE is perfect, just remove the price ceilings, or increase them to a decent level. The RWT's won't be able to use it to transfer money/items to specific accounts and the players will then set the costs again. There are too many items which just won't sell due to the lowest price still being too high (high alch price). If people want to sell these for less than the alch price then they should be allowed to. It doesn't feature in the cost of the nature rune anyway, so what's the issue?

All Fired Up
Quest was a piece of cake but I would like some advice before attempting the mini game. What is the best strategy for lighting all 14 beacons? Which we can split into the following questions: What is the best way to bank after each beacon? Is it worth paying the extra 5 logs each time? What logs are best to use? What order is best? I can light all 14 no issue however: Is it best to unlock each item seperatley or go for all 14 in one fell swoop? Ta

Rewards are good for me. I begrudge paying 2mil for a dragon axe and always sell back after use. Be nice to always have one for free  The burn as chopping thing is OK I guess. Though I will get 99 firemaking long before I train woodcutting again.
