CLEAN Funny Picture Thread ~new rules, read first post~
I suppose you have a point, but I do laugh at the failed demotive writers who can't think of a good caption and just stick one one there. Like these poor fool Image removed due to inappropriate language. Be more careful what you post from now on. ~Ragen~

Cultrally diverse
I wonder how many rude hand motions you can give playing a game of rock paper scissors in every country... I know there is some kind of Italian or some other country where it is the equivalent of the middle finger to hold your fist in the air with your arm bend while your other arm is in a fist and that fist is touching the first arm's bicep.

/b/ is what I guess you can call a forum on a site called 4chan. It's probably the most popular forum out there. Mostly it discusses Japanese culture, but there are all kinds of boards for cars, videogames, pretty much anything you can name. They are given an abbreviated name with a / on both sides. /b/ is called the Random board, where you can discuss anything. Literally, anything. Unfortunatly immaturaty brings everything from disgusting or pornographic images to weird internet fads called memes that are basically the cliches of the interwebs, which is where some of these "fail" and "lolcat" images come from. Do not go to /b/ if you value your sanity. To unspam:

Guilty Pleasures
To be totally honest, I've grown up with Blues Clues and still find it pretty fun to watch even today. Please don't laugh, I just think it's rather fun to watch. Its not like I'm one of those kids who scream "A CLUE!!!! BEHIND YOU JOE!!!! ITS A CLUE! A BLUE PAW PRINT!!! A CLUE!!!" I just have a smile when I watch Joe or Steve looking around trying to find that dang paw print. It brings me a wave of nostalgia that I actually enjoy. Sometimes I even pop old Winnie the Pooh cassettes or Kermit the frog things in my VCR just for nostalgic reasons.

My Birthday...
I'm American and I think we should do something like the Aussies did, except at a slightly earlier age. I'd say once you become a senior citizen, you should get checked for driving elgibility every year. Frankly too many accidents are caused by seniors who either accidently break a driving rule and jeopardize someone else's life, or mistake a gas pedal for the breaks and end up flying through a convenience store. It happened 3 times this year in my city. Now, while senior accidents may be at a lower rate than reckless teenager accidents, we need stronger limits. Its not fair that a happy family with a great life is driving down the street enjoying the day and it could easily be ruined by a careless or helpless driver.

Do You Support Stem Cell Research?
Wiki says that research suggests the possibility of transforming adult stem cells into cells similar to embryonic stem cells, and thus no babies are harmed. I say that as long as babies don't die because of this research, go ahead. Unfortunatly it seems they are dying for the sake of research. Until I'm assured that a fetus won't be killed before it's chance at life, I won't support it. If the research continues and it is discovered how to properly do this to use adult stem cells and give them embryonic-like properties, then I'll be for it. I will try not to bring too much religion into this, but I will say that I believe it is morally wrong to kill an unborn fetus for any reason.

Heroic Tip.It founder fights off bats!!!
I agree with Mirrorforced, some people are taking this thread way too seriously. Loosen up guys and stop debating about where this goes. However, I do have to say that if this thread was posted by, say, an average tipiter, whether it was in the right forum or not, replies would have been much less enthusiastic. Good job fighting off those bats any, Silv.

Aw man.
I get those disturbing feelings when I see things like animal torture (I'm not an animal fan, I just can't stand it. Even stuffed animals being ripped makes me feel really horrified inside.) and intentional self-harm, not necessarily suicide. Witnessing such things can be traumatising. I saw a music video once with a guy in a mask (I think he was supposed to be a freaky taxodermist) torturing animals he was stuffing. I had trouble sleeping for a month, and even today thinking about it makes me feel like I need to crawl into a really safe place and just cry or something. I just can't help it, I'm the kind of guy who's easily traumatized for life. If I witnessed someone I knew and loved being killed or mutilated or something else, I'd probably go insane. And I'm serious. I have a rather weak emotional structure, it's very easy to make me cry or feel terrified. Feeling traumatized by a suicide is natural, it's not something you see every day. Don't feel weird because you're freaking out about it. There are others like me who would have probably suffered more from the event.

I need help to sleep.
Seven or eight ibuprofen tablets should do the trick ;) On a more serious note, I have sometimes had the same trouble sleeping. Usually it occurs after a few late nights and I try to go to bed early a day after. My body is used to the late nights and I can't fall asleep. Reading a book helps me, just make sure the book isn't too full of action. If your mind starts to wander at all the events in the book and go crazy with thoughts, you have trouble sleeping. The same with TV and videogames. If you do them too late, your mind is a little too excited to put to sleep. Another thing I do is go on OT before sleeping. It keeps me busy while not too overexcited. Who knew the intrawebs could be your sleeping pill?

Acne *Dun dun dun!*
^Same here. Can anyone tell me, is popping zits any good for stopping them, or just prolongs it for a while and it reappears? I looked it up and some website showed a guide to properly popping a zit without any infection or making the puss going deeper. The problem with popping zits is if you do it wrong, it reappears. By using the typical index finger and thumb combo to squeeze the sides of the zit, half of the puss comes out and the other goes in deeper. The site offered an alternative where you use tweezers and a sterilized needle just right to make all the puss come out. I tried it a bit and it seemed to work, though it left a scar for a day. Any other popping stories? http://www.acne-resource.org/acne-articles/remove-zits.html <-- the site with the zit popping guide. What I find odd is the beginning says professionals don't reccomend it, but then it gives a guide on how to do it anyways...

Your favorite Off-Topic threads ever?
Anyone remember the Testicular Torsion thread? A serious mature discussion turned into a sick thread about playing with fake testicles. One of my favorites : And the one about the guy who mistook his bacon for toilet paper. Sounded totally sick, stupid, and fake but I laughed at every minute of it.

The Offical TIF American Elections thread
I didn't know there was a political party called the Boston Tea Party. I giggled : . What's their policies? Embargo from trading with England? I recently saw a McCain ad (its all over CNN now) about Obama's pick for VP. They say Clinton was clearly the better pick and Obama picked Biden because Clinton spoke againsst Obama frequently. Now, Biden has also publicly criticized Obama in the past, and Obama stated he picked him because he "didn't want a yes-man". I'm sure Republicans everywhere are calling it [cabbage] and saying he did it just to make himself look better for wanting a critic on his side to "make him a better president". Sounds reasonable, but if it was just a publicity stunt, it would be a very bad idea for Obama, his policies would undergo criticism from his own VP. Obviously him picking Biden shows he's willing to revise his plans. So is it better to have someone as president who would stick to his plans and not back down against anyone, or someone who would conform it to the suggestions of critics?

Christians: Why do you go to mass?
I'm a Catholic, I go to Mass every Sunday and on all 6 Holy days of Obligation. In Chicago less than half of the 2+ million registered Catholics go to Mass when they're supposed to. What about the rest of them? Surely they can give an hour with their Lord, a tiny fraction of the hours they spend awake? Its a shame that you call yourself a Catholic when you don't go to Mass every week and don't know what the Holy Days of Obligation are (Christmas, Immaculate Conception, Assumption, Mary Mother of God, All Saints Day, Ascension). Is because they get bored of it? Its an hour of prayer. You have to be pretty weak to not stand one hour. Its inconvenient to get up in the morning? Most churches have masses at 5 Pm on Saturdays for those that can't make it on Sunday. Too far away from the church? There shouldn't be any excuse for that. Unless you live in an obscure town thats 200 miles from the nearest church. On vacation? There are churches everywhere. In Florida I went to a church that was made specifically for tourists, and had full attendence at every Mass. The only time you're excused from Mass is if there's an emergency. My pastor noticed a weakening in the number of people attending church. So he added a small breakfast after some of the sunday Masses. He hoped people would come to the Mass at first just for the food after and slowly realize they should be attending more. Its helping a little bit and gives Mass attenders something to look foreward to. He also made sure the time of the Mass breakfasts was slightly random. You never know if it was the 10:30 Mass or 12:00. The only way to find out was to attend Mass and listen to the announcements at the end for the breakfasts the week after, or just come at the end of every mass to see if it was happening. I found the whole issue quite humorous. ;)

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
My high ping makes me lag whenever another player comes near me :wall: . I do fine just walking around, finding a person to shoot, but then when I find them, if they see me I lag and I'm screwed. Thats why I'm trying to get good with the M101 shotgun. I can kill them without worrying about lagging and how many bullets I put into them. One shot dead. I'm trying to unlock blue tiger for my M101, and I'm halfway there, but shotgun headshots are annoying to get because you have to be so close. Either you have to sneak up behind someone and blast their head off or shoot wildly and hope you get their head. Aiming for the head in a close combat fight is hard for a laggy guy like me. I just unlocked Overkill, which is pretty sweet for a shotgunner. I keep my assault rifle handy as my secondary weapon so when I see a distant kill I don't have to hide from them because my shotgun can't reach them. Only problem is if you have Last Stand, you still pull out a pistol when you're near death :| It'd be nice to have an M4 or SAW as a last stand weapon; go berserk shooting everywhere. After I complete all the challenges for the M101, I'll probably try the W1200, but I can't stand the pump action. Same for bolt action sniper rifles. The only Sniper I'll ever use is the automatic Dragunov.

favirit songs lyrics
[hide=Hands Held High - Linkin Park]Turn my mike up louder I got to say something Light weights step to the side when we come in Feel it in your chest the syllables get pumping People on the street they panic and start running Words on loose leaf sheet complete coming I jump in my mind and summon the rhyme, I'm dumping Healing the blind I promise to let the sun in Sick of the dark ways we march to the drum and Jump when they tell us that they wanna see jumping [bleep] that I wanna see some fists pumping Risk something, take back what's yours Say something that you know they might attack you for Cause I'm sick of being treated like I have before Like it's stupid standing for what I'm standing for Like this war's really just a different brand of war Like it doesn't cater the rich and abandon poor Like they understand you in the back of the jet When you can't put gas in your tank These [bleep]ers are laughing their way to the bank and cashing the cheque Asking you to have compassion and have some respect For a leader so nervous in an obvious way Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay And the rest of the world watching at the end of the day In their living room laughing like "what did he say?" Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen In my living room watching but I am not laughing Cause when it gets tense I know what might happen World is cold the bold men take action Have to react or get blown into fractions Ten years old it's something to see Another kid my age drugged under a jeep Taken and bound and found later under a tree I wonder if he had thought the next one could be me Do you see the soldiers they're out today They brush the dust from bullet proof vests away It's ironic at times like this you pray But a bomb blew the mosque up yesterday There's bombs in the buses, bikes, roads Inside your market, your shops, your clothes My dad he's got a lot of fear I know But enough pride inside not to let that show My brother had a book he would hold with pride A little red cover with a broken spine On the back, he hand-wrote a quote inside When the rich wage war it's the poor who die Meanwhile, the leader just talks away Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay And the rest of the world watching at the end of the day both scared and angry like "what did he say?" Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen With hands held High into the sky so blue The ocen opens up to swallow you.[/hide]

sadist song
When I looked at this thread title, I thought it had to do with sadistic lyrics and satan-worshipping bands. You might wanna change that. As for me, the only song that makes me cry is some old song that I think is by Elton John. I'm not sure of the title, but I just know one of the lines "I wanna hold you till this fear in me subsides". The entire song saddens me and makes me want to cry. Also, the song "Ave Maria". I'm not sure why it makes me sad, it just does.

Learning a Language
I really wish my parents had tought me the language they spoke (Urdu) as I was growing up. Bilinguality (is that a word?) would be extremely useful. Instead, they prefered to use it so they could tell eachother things that they didn't want us to know. Now I'm entering high school and am taking Spanish. I would have had Urdu AND Spanish down, but now it's kinda late. Learning two different languages at the same time is hard. Although I've always thought German was a really cool language, and I have a couple books on learning German, maybe I should try it... My friend has a cousin who's 4 years old. She's already just as fluent in some African language (I think its Swahili or whatever language Ethiopians speak, I'm not sure) as she is in English. She talks in Swahili/whatever language to her mother and in English to her father, who is Indian. It's amazing and will give her a huge advantage in her life. I don't know how you teach a 4 year old another language when they're still trying to master English, but she's pretty fluent and makes me feel bad. You see, I'm the kind of intolerant bastard who only knows how to say "Do you speak English" in several languages because I'm too lazy to learn theirs. I should work on that. It wouldn't be very nice to go to Germany and go "Sprechen sie Inglis" to every person I meet when I need help.

Getting a laptop today so reccomned me some PC games.
For the wireless mouse: I agree. Do not buy one. I had one back when I was a Runescape addict. Several times I nearly died because my mouse's connection started to fail. I later bought a USB mouse and a year and a half later it has never failed me

Subconcsious: Actions of Attraction.
I notice my friends whenever they're attracted trying to have some form of body contact with the person, whether its gently putting his arm against hers or in a crowded area intentionally brushing her with his body.
