OMFG! Draconic Visage! 4th Kill!
Solidus_77 replied to ITIessi's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
meh, they're a pretty common drop.... Jk, congrats on getting it. I know how good the first awesome drop feels : Enjoy the thrill 10/10 -
So what, does that mean we are not having this debate? Think about it this way though: if you hadn't registered on this forum you wouldn't be here to debate therefore I conclude that you don't exist. I don't get it. What's that supposed to mean? The author exists, and so do I, and so do you... It's just a way of showing how terrible your logic was.

Funny, I don't remember saying that quote. Perhaps that's because I never actually said that, I only implied it. Besides, as you said yourself, it's a generalization meaning that by definition is holds true most of the time (not all the time) Just because they can produce some intelligent threads doesn't mean that they do so most of the time. In fact, most of the time the threads are so incredibly stupid you need to reach pretty deep to find some reasonable Then, of those "reasonable" rants, a lot will have some things like "Jagex it is all YOUR fault, now fix the mess that YOU made RIGHT NOW". Talking like that is a sign of immaturity. Some of those rants will, however, show signs of basic intelligence and maturity. The fact that you came up with one decent rant doesn't help prove that most of the rants are decent. Again, the rant you came up with is an exception among all the crappy threads in there. The rants forum has a majority of stupid threads therefore generally, the rants forums Again, The fact that you came up with one decent doesn't help doesn't help prove that most of the threads are decent. Conversely, just because some topics are not bad doesn't mean that the whole forum has higher IQ or maturity. Most of the threads are dismal therefore the average IQ is lower. It cannot be measured, however it can be observed. If you want to see some people acting immature, then the RSOF is perfect place to go. While this may be true, they are in a minority. However, this minority has been growing which leads me to believe that the idiots from RSOF are migrating to TIF. No idea, I don't know what runehq forums are like. Besides I couldn't care less since I am trying saying a generalization about the RSOF compared to fansites (not fansites compare amongst each other) -
Question: Least-Admirable Skill Cape
Solidus_77 replied to Lunar_Drifter's topic in General Discussion
if you're going to be like that about cooking and fletching.. if you string your bows, then fletching is harder than fishing. fishing, buy 200k feathers from any store that sells them. go to shilo village. and fish until level 99 then you could cook all the fish and get 99 cooking. i'd say then, that fishing is the same as cooking but fletching, is annoying because you dont really have a whole lot of time in between stringing the bows to do something else, unless you have 2 monitors like i do (freaking awesome to use if playing RS) self-imposted limitations don't increase the amount of respect that people will give you unless you tell them each time (and even, they are only accepted in some cases). -
1) How do you know Mourning's End part 2 took over 2 years of work to be created? It was stated by a J mod. The explanation is because the quest had the most complicated puzzle in the entire game. (and quite frankly 2 years sounds very reasonable) That, my friend, you can figure out by looking at quests in the knowledge base. In the quest's description you will see a list of credits (so the people who worked on the game). All you need to do to answer your question is to compare the credits in ME part 2 to some other more basic quests.

Welcome to the fascinating world of economics: The number of people who can go in, in this case, serves as a limitation. So if this limitation was removed, it would be easier to dk. Therefore then the number of dkers would increase (I don't know by how much but clearly it will increase). Now, since more people are killing rex, more people will obtain d axes, berserker and warrior rings meaning that the supply of these items will increase. Therefore, by law of supply, as the supply of these items increases, the price of these items will decrease. Note: in this scenario, the drops that are exclusive to prime and supreme are unaffected. Note also that in this scenario, people will be buying more supplies to use against rex therefore the price of the supplies could also increase. Because that's how economics works. Price is determined by supply and demand so a change in supply or demand is going to lead to a change of price. If someone posts some kind of crazy idea that affects supply or demand (like making d chains easier to get) then I would expect someone to point out the obvious consequence (fall in price of d chain). Sometimes people who don't know economics will use some bad logic and come up with some pretty ridiculous outcomes which can make economic predictions seem annoying overall. However, in this case, he is correct in saying that it will lead to a fall in price of Rex's drop items so you have no reason to get annoyed with him. First you have to prove that we need a money drain and for that you need to prove that there is an inflation problem (which has yet to be proven).

GOOD. Now people will actually have to risk something in those areas instead of always having a buddy pick up their guthans/veracs/whatever. Considering how you know next to nothing about monster hunting, your opinion is completely irrelevant. You say that "now we actually have to risk something" implying that, thanks to friends, there is no risk in monster hunting. That's totally incorrect, untradables and supplies are lost. Then there is always the possibility of a lurer getting your items. Also, it's not like it was 100% safe before and now it's completely unsafe. It's just that now it's made less safe (even with friends being there, it's not safe btw). How pointless is an update that, while trying to help people who fight monsters, ends up HARMING people who fight monsters? Teams will only pick up what they can (so you automatically lose pots + untradables) so you can't say that there is 0 risk. Also, they could, themselves, need to tele out before they get a chance to grab (this can happen if both people need to tele out but one gets killed). Although these scenarios are totally unlikely if your team is good, they do exist and therefore you are never at 0 risk. Also, as far as I'm concerned, there is no way in hell that you can run back to the lair in less than a minute so soloers are just not affected by the update.

Some of these rants are just about some kid whining about how he didn't get what he wanted and so he wants the game changed for him when either the solution is blatantly obvious or his problem is just so insignificant. Tell that to the whiny kids who make those rants.

Sorry I confused everyone by correcting grammar, I should have explained myself beforehand. There's one thing, however, that I'm not sorry for I would recommend try to spell "generalizations" correctly before you think of criticizing my grammar. Or at the very least you should just give a friendly reminder instead of rubbing in the person's face So basically you are pissed at me because I call the RSOF stupid with "no real proof"? That's ridiculous. Besides I do have proof: my proof is the threads in the rants forum. Not enough? The threads in the suggestions forum. Not enough? the "post thy funny forum quotes" thread on TIF forum. Not enough? Well I don't think it's humanly possible to be that much in denial. -

2/10 Obviously none of the stats are really impressive since you're a pure and being a pure is nothing special. -
I would estimate months for a medium level quest. However ME Part 2 took over 2 years. That's a huge difference so you can't just group them all together and say "they all take a long time". The new quests have given us, for example, 2 new prayers. Useless? No. If for every update you think "great, this time could have been spent on bot banning so it was a waste of time", that's just another assumption. First of all, people care about updates as well as the bots. Second of all, you don't know how the company works so don't just assume that all the people can be re-assigned to work on whatever project is neaded. There is a team that works on customer support only and there is another team that works on graphic updates for example. Until you have at least seen the firm, your argument is completely invalid. Not at all. In the entire gaming industry, QA is considered one of the most important positions. They are the ones that try to make sure if a lot of things work. They are the ones who figure out the balance in the game, they work on predicting the outcome of, say, an update. Explain what you mean by the "bigger picture", you say "will this make people rant about it?" what is "it" supposed to be? what does "this" refer to. You're being way too vague. So basically, you say that if you take the light tower quest and change the requirement to 90 construction you've got yourself a "high level quest"? that's completely ridiculous, high level quests are those such as mourning's end part 2. Something that's longer, more challenging (the quest took over 2 years to make). Same for recipe for disasters. There is no generic formula for making a quest because they are so unique. You can't just go around raising some skill requirements and then say "well this is a higher level quest", it has to make sense wit ha storyline, it has to have some challenge, it has to have a reward that reflects (to a certain extent) the challenge of the quest. Then if there's a "boss" monster to fight it's a whole different story, because a boss in, say, recipe for disasters has nothing to do with lvl 100+ that only has one form of attack. And finally, my point about godwars dungeon remains correct since you haven't even mentioned it therefore it still effectively proves your entire argument (about the so-called lack of high level updates) wrong.

And now for the interesting part: why is it not worth it? because if it's considered expensive, that's not a problem for me but if it actually doesn't give exp any faster well then that is a problem

Oh so I'm going to make a topic about how I hate the color purple ingame. Then I'll make a rant about how d chains should be 100% drops from kq, then I'll go say how some extremely weak monster is "overpowered" and insist that they change the monster because I will not change my combat stats. Can you imagine how dismal this forum would be if everyone posted about the smallest details that bother them just to "blow off some steam"? There would be no discussion, just tons of topics with on average 1 reply. Some of the rants here promote some discussion, like the wild dogs in brimhaven dungeon while others, like this one, serve no purpose and are very poorly demonstrated. Rants are not just for "blowing off steam" (tip.it forums only says so in the sub-topic because they assume people have common sense enough to know this is a DISCUSSION forum), they are for DISCUSSING a topic. Part of the discussion is finding a solution too. Most of the people who come here expect everyone to agree with them and blame jagex for the problem, they they get surprised when everyone dissagrees with their rant and tells them to "get higher levels" or other realistic and simple ways to deal with the problem. In this case, the solution is just get higher levels because you are too weak. Would we really need to change the game just because one player is too lazy to train his stats?
-
They are the reason why I hate getting fire giants or greaters as a task. They just make the trip longer! Actually, I have considered using a cannon there, is there a place I can hide? and is it worth it?

Word to the wise: if you don't like getting looked down upon P2Pers, try not insulting them. They insult us F2Pers all the time. I can't wait for the Christmas Event, ooh woohoo. More members whining. eye for an eye makes everyone blind. Insulting people just because they insult you is a lose-lose situation. What's the point.

unless he focuses on getting the reqs for legends right now and doesn't kill any more monsters. You should do legends eventually so I would say use this clue as a motivation to do legends.

Money skills--Taking over runescape?
Solidus_77 replied to axeraider194's topic in General Discussion
Wow really? When i last played it was 300 ea  I guess a lot of people alch yewbows then?? well nats are 300 each. The key word is profit: (as in, price of nat minus price of pure ess) so 300 - 100 = 200 gp profit per rune. -
Oh, yes. The bad thing about is because the balck color is different. It looked quite bad on my prest gown robes. Maybe a color update would be good (To everything, not the hood. The new black color is good.)? Dark Jab came up with a pretty awesome outfit for the hood on this thread (under the hunter part): http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=710139

the quest? ok seriously... you get a d mace thats only good for high lvls things available in wildy and the only advantages are actually the dragon and glory charge. stuff usefull for high levels is a good thing Runite mining in the wildy is incredibly annoying. If you think that the runite ores in the hero's guild are not important you're horribly mistaken and saying "the only advantage you get from hero's guild is a glory" is like saying "the only bad thing that Hitler did was killing some people"

First off, calling you "biased" and calling the rs community "ignorant" is certainly not flaming. All you've been doing up to this point is trying to prove how your opinion is the correct one. If you don't want a debate, don't make claims that jagex is not doing their job. Opinions are (or at least should be) backed up by facts. Debates are about "my opinion is a better representation of the facts than yours". This is just an excuse to avoid debating my points. That is way to bold coming someone like you.
-
Get your facts straight before you make assumptions. There are still updates that are targeting the higher leveled players. Best example would be godwars dungeon. Also, you need to take into account that massive updates take a lot longer to make because they are so complex Finally, if they introduce new items, new equipment, these will have a huge effect on the game. This means more work for quality assurance team and therefore the update will take longer. Basically, higher level updates tend to be a lot harder to make and therefore you shouldn't expect jagex to release higher level updates and lower level updates at an equal ratio (or anywhere close)

Is Jagex showing a lack of attention to autoing?
Solidus_77 replied to archer11's topic in General Discussion
Well it's just your word against theirs now isn't it? Try providing more than just baseless speculation. Like try proving your outrageous claims.
