TIF Idols!
Sign me up, hahaha! It won't be any sweet James Blunt... Type O Negative and Amon Amarth! And speaking of AA, believe me... my growl does not sound like a 14-year-old-trying-to-make-harsh-sounds.

Dial-Up
Had dial-up from 97/98 - 00/01. Changed to 0.05mbit? (50kb/s) and then changed it to 0.8mbit (800kb/s) last year. Don't need a greater speed, i don't download much and if i do, a demo on 1.8gb takes about 15 minutes. I've never had a gb/tb cap on my adsl/broadband, and never will. Paying about 28euros for the 800kb/s version. I hate dial-up and will never use it again, slow/un-safe/costly...

Anti Programs and AVG 8.0 free edition Questions
I can't help you with how AVG works, never used it and been on Panda for the last 2-3 years. My Panda dis-infects the trojan/virus/etc.. and anything else it's infected and then removes it. I can choose to put it into qurantine (spelling?) if i want to... But this doesn't help you so i'll shut up=) AVG is the only program of those 3 that should be active whenever the computer is active. Never heard of "spyware terminator", but Spybot can be set to be active (tea-timer i think it's called) or just open it when you want to get rid of stuff. Of course, you can choose to have all three programs active, but it makes a negative impact on your performance. What i do with my spyware programs (Ad-Aware and Spybot) is to scan the computer with them aprox. once a week (updating before scanning), and keep my AW active all time. Hope someone with knowledge of AVG comes on!

Slight problem with graphics card.
I have a card from the same 9000-series (9600xt i think) on my other computer, it runs UT04 on 40-50fps... I don't know how much better this card is than yours, but yours should really be able to play the new RS detail without a problem. Try downloading the latest driver for it ( http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/r ... 00-xp.html ) and update your Java to the latest. Also update Windows, get SP2 and 3 if you haven't.

[SOLVED] RuneScape HD on Ubuntu/64
You can try running Opera or Epiphany (tho Epi uses the same engine as Firefox if i don't remember wrong) and give it a go. I recently formatted my hd, so haven't partitioned it yet for using dual boot (ubuntu). But When i had Ubuntu, i had no problem loading RS with default Java you're given. Tho this was Ubuntu 32-bit and before the new detail was released. Maybe you can check if they say anything special about Linux 64-bit using the new detail mode, or ask in the official forum?

Need help with computer temperatures...
ATI tool works for Nvidia also, using it to check temp and when overclocking. Rivatuner should work fine on ATI too, haven't tested it on my other computer with ATI, but problably works just as fine. CPU's have a safe-mode, if it get's to 70 or above, it will shut down to prevent any damage. If someone has their GPU over 85C or CPU over 60C, you should check inside the case if there's any dust on it, and if there is, use a can of compressed air to blow it away (remember, ground yourself). Video cards have a much higher limit of heat, some cards run at 80-09 on load without any dust clogging up. If you haven't turned the fans up to 100%, it will help cooling the hardware turning them to 100%, with one of the programs mentioned in thread.

Which graphics card should I get?
I don't know if he meant they have some special warranty or an industrial-overclocked version or a custom fan fitted onto it? All i know is that they are one of the biggest manufactuers and very well known. There's loads... XFX, BFG, Palit, Leadtek, Sapphire, Asus... etc etc.

How to make sure you can play RSHD! ALL PROBLEMS LOOK HERE.
Yep, atm it's buggy. The servers are horrible, random lag (got 8600gt so no gpu problem), and i got 800kb/s connection lol. They really should have waited a few days. Plus (again atm) alot of servers are offline lol. It's a really neat guide Nadril, it should be stickied!

How do you acellerate your graphics card?
Overclocking i suppose. But i wouldn't recommend it if you don't know how to, especially if it's integrated. First off, wheater you have Nvidia or ATI (don't know if Intel has this too), you will see about the same thing: Either click on the ATI/Nvidia icon in the corner, or right-click on your desktop. Change the 3d settings to performance, set AA and AF to off (with them on, it's looks nicer but slower performance). I'm half-asleep, sorry for the lame explenation. Also, what is your video card?

Top Gear
Really nice car program. Wonder when this new season comes to Sweden. Or wait, i have BBC Prime - will they air the new season? My favorite is James May, but he appears too little. I don't like Clarkson because he is always bashing down the environment "get a range rover, who cares about the climate" sort of.

Early internet memories
I remember back in 96/97 sometime... My friend back then, showed me a place to get free music (napster lol) and we also tried to figure out what this new "internet connection" was (adsl/broadband). I still remember saying... "there's something that you don't need to dial-up and it's much faster...", but i had no idea at the time what it was. Can't remember much more, this was at 8-9 years of age. But i remember one of the first games i ever played - Lemmings!!! Woohoo!

R.A.M.
I might as well post a question here. I always thought you needed same amounts of ram on the memory sticks, but this doesn't seem to be correct. Have i been mis-informed? Because what i've been told is that they need to be the same size or it'll crash. Or what is that have to be the same (i know two ddr2/ddr3...)? Kind of a noobish question this... lol.

Real life pictures - 3
Thanks for all the replies! One of my friends called the silver/black glasses "banker glasses", lol. I don't know, the silver/black probably looks the nicer... But they somehow doesn't really fit me and my personality. I'm very much a metal head... Doesn't really fit. Black/brown ones... Maybe. But i'm going to the shop on monday again to check some more glasses, so i'll probably end up annoying all of you with more pictures of me.

Blizzrds WWI announcment, what is it? DIABLO 3 ANNOUNCED!
DB3?! My reason for leaving a reply is, i've never played the DB series (just watched some).. But never been interested. But two friends i have, only stopped playing DB2 1 year ago... My god, i won't see them online a single time on msn when this is released! And i barely see them online as it is, not good for my friendships this game^^ But it certainly seems nice.

Post Pictures of Your Desktop - August
On my moms computer atm, mine is at a shop getting some stuff fixed. But this computer shouldn't run Vista, 1.6ghz celeron cpu, 1gb ram (+500mb ready boost)... -.- So slow. Should run Ubuntu on this one instead, would be so much faster. Here it is anyways:

RuneScape happiness&decline of people?
Ah yes, the new graphics! I think i've also been waiting for the new graphics, it's going to be interesting. I will see if it kicks me up a notch on my RS interest. Of course, playing RS, you don't do it for the graphics. (played Assassins Creed the last days, damn it's nice) But i think i've grown more and more into wanting nicer graphics, and perhaps the new RS graphics will spark more interest.

Guide on how to meet the requirements
Uhm, first off, there's already a guide by Nadril: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=746171 I don't remember when DDR2 was introduced (2005?). I got a computer from 2004 with DDR, so I guess in that time line. You need to know what your memory is (ddr, ddr2, ddr3), size (256, 512, 1024... ). You can't put a 256 with 1024, crash. What motherboard are you on about? One from 1998? ATI produces agp and pci-e (pci too?). Nvidia produces pci-e, but stopped agp. But I remember a manufacturer (dunno which one), making some newer cards (8400gt, 8500gt) releasing some pci types of these. And if you're opening your computer, you need to non-static (touch an unpainted metal part, to ground yourself), or you'll fry the computer. Buying new parts to an existing mobo you need to know: what processor (amd or intel) which ones does it support? Is it agp, pci, pci-e? DDR, DDR2, DDR3.... etc etc etc. You have phrased yourself so weird, I don't understand anything lol.

ASUS Extreme Striker 2
Ok thanks, you own an Extreme Stiker 2? Nono. I just thought i'd drop a random reply lol. Replaced the Foxconn with ASrock (got ASrock on a computer from 04, which run stable all the time). It was just a weak motherboard, as soon as i changed something it started giving me bluescreens lol. But tell me, is yours still running stable? Hopefully.

RuneScape happiness&decline of people?
Hey. Basically, are people getting bored of RS or is it just me? The people i have on my friends list, since about February-march, I've seen them online much much less. And I've encountered many people, both high and low leveled people, who have said that it's boring I've moved to another game... etc etc. And the people i know (friends list) and those I've met randomly, are not people who started just last year or so (i.e. Trying the game), but the majority starting 2004-2005. I don't know how much PC played a part in this, but i have a guess: Since many rapidly moved quickly to 126 (pre summoning) during the prime-era of PCing, and got maxed out in the fighting levels+earing cash during each game. They had enough money to spend (and to make, getting rewards from high-lvl monster fighting) on costly skills, such as Crafting/Herblore/Construction, and get those skills up high in a quick time. Thus making it no challenge. And of course, the restrictions implemented 6-7 months ago, has also played a big part. I don't know how many bots were active before restrictions, but i only find the amount of people playing to be 90 140 000. There used to be 200k+, surely there weren't 70k bots online? Or maybe I'm wrong... Those i see online, they are always grinding and doing other (to me) boring stuff. And it seems, not many are actually enjoying this game. I always like to noob around (following people randomly, sleeping with lunar spells... etc). I myself, have been online the last two weeks for maybe a total amount of 4h. I dunno, seems like I've hit a wall. And when i do go online, i tend to spend the time at CW. I'm too bored of skilling... grinding... blah blah blah. So tell me, is it just me? Or have you also noticed this?
