Update: Bought ATI 2400XT to the Packard Bell computer, help
Yes, i've tried different screens, used both vga and dvi cables. Just called the support, and he said i should exchange it for a new one and it probably won't cost a thing. So... Fun! Dunno what could've happend... Maybe it just was a bad card, because i took all precausions i could to not electrify anything. And since i'm writing this from this computer, i'm positive it's not statics.

Update: Bought ATI 2400XT to the Packard Bell computer, help
Tried again. It was set on PEG from the beginning. When i boot up, i don't see BIOS or anything, just black screen and monitor saying "no signal". I haven't changed the BIOS or anything. Yep i know driver cd... Dunno why i did it, just did it lol. But as you say, this shouldn't have caused a problem. I don't think it's been electrified. Because i grounded my self before dealing with the card and opening the case, also used plastic gloves. And i handeld the card on anti-static plastic. I've mailed Gigabyte (the manufactuer), and asked them, see what they'll say. But hm, i'll get the support on the phone tomorrow and check lol. Still tho, when i first put it in and booted up it worked fine. But when i rebooted it just showed "no signal". Crap. And when i took it out, closed the case (booting with intergrated gfx) i get "Windows fault-reset (dunno exact english word)"... So i have no clue.

Update: Bought ATI 2400XT to the Packard Bell computer, help
Hi. I bought ATI 2400XT (was cheaper, and supposed to be a bit less energy craving). Ok, so i installed it, put the the case-side on again and powerd on the computer. Got picture, yay! Then some installing drivers... Windows updated it automatically... Then i installed the driver from the cd (stupid?). Then i get "restart computer for settings to apply". So i restart, black screen! The monitor says "no signal". So i then removed the card and started up the computer with intergrated graphics. Works fine, no problems at all. So, i download the whole latest package from ATI (CCC, driver... etc), installing, reboot, works fine. So, i once again put the 2400XT into the pci-e slot and boot up, black screen! Once more, removed it, back to intergrated graphics, works fine. I've tested different screens, tested both vga and dvi cables, doesn't matter with the 2400XT, black screen. But i can hear the computer working and everything... Hmm, maybe i should do a system restore? I'll try that after Jay Leno has finished lol. I don't need to change anything in the BIOS, do i? If so, the only two related things i've found is: Init display first: IGD, PEG/IGD, PCI/IGD. Seletc which graphics controller to use as the primary boot device- Expansion mode: Disabled. Enable? Text and graphics expansion/central mode selection. But you shouldn't need to change anything in the bios, right? Anyone got an idea? I'll call the support tomorrow and ask them, but i'd like to hear any suggestions and try.

Grand Theft Auto IV Thread!
Does anyone know an aprox. date of when it's coming to PC? I think i've heard autumn if i recall correctly. I'm buying a new computer in a month, so doesn't really matter if it comes sooner or later (orderd Test Drive Unlimited, so will have time to spend before GTA4 comes^^). Seen pictures and checked videos, looks really neat! I played GTA on PS1 (or was it just PS?), GTA2 on PC, and just a little bit GTA3. So this is gonna be sweet!

Monday 14th July : Bank Update, Item Lending, RSHD 4 F2P,...
Old or new tutorial? What if you never did a tutorial?! I'm screwed! Lol. Oh and, can people lend non-buying rares or is those locked to the persons who picked them up? I hope they're locked. Or else i could start trying to make the bunny ears take over RS...

Dynamic Signature Discussion
Really sweet sigs =) If i decide to use a stat-sig again, i'll sure as hell pick the RSC one! Oh and... Uhm, maybe this is a too late question... But is there any possibility of making one with bunny ears? I can "pose" if this idea is accepted lol.

The Great Tip Pic of 2008- OLD
I prefer the "old" look, especially on the head compared to hd. So, i'm keeping the old gfx for my picture no matter what gets decided^^

Weird crashings while playing RS
Updated java? Version 6, update 7, is the latest. The RS client uses Internet Explorer, have you tried a different browser? Such as: Opera or Firefox. And have you tried playing RS with the IE7 browser instead of the client?

dream job
Fighter-air pilot. But i can't be, too poor eye-sight. I can't even be a maintenence guy at the ground! When they had the "checking people for doing military service (mönstring)", i asked them this. I could become a maintenece guy at the ground for air-planes, but i had to to laser-surgery for that, and that would've costed me 3000 euros. So i skipped it all=) But i'm gonna read to network-technician/systems admin next year!

Yeah, and if you read my post you wouldn't have posted that. Please do read the thread-opener before posting something that can't be used.

Update: Bought ATI 2400XT to the Packard Bell computer, help
Hm yeah. I had an 8600GT on my own computer before, if i don't remember wrong, it was getting enough juice from just the pci-e slot. I've found an interesting card, ATI 3450. http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Viper-345 ... B0012VOYD0 It says 300W PSU. I checked an online shop in my country, and they had it. 3450, 30 euros (shipping included)! So, could this work or will i be getting blue-screens? Say, if i bought it and getting crashes, then i could just take it out and wait til x-mas (been thinking of doing some upgrades on this; psu, cpu) and just install it then.

Breastfeeding
What the hell is the problem?! As far as i know, the milk from a woman breast is far more nutrisous (spelling?) than something you buy. My older sis had two kids, both has moved onto "normal food", but she has breastfeeded them in my presence (been in the same room), i look the other way or just pick up a magazine.. or something, no problem there! Also, my brother's wife has breastfeeded in my presence, i do the same thing there; look the other way.. pick up a magazine or do something else. I don't have a problem at all with a mother breastfeeding her kid in the public, it's natrual!

Update: Bought ATI 2400XT to the Packard Bell computer, help
Hi. My own computer is in the process of being "taken back" by the shop, still getting bluescreens on it. So atm i'm on my moms computer. It's a prebuilt Packard Bell. I was checking some cheaper video cards for it, but i can't find any that meets the requierments. Windows Vista, Intel Celeron 1.6ghz (lol..), 2gb ram, intergrated gpu - ATI Radeon XPRESS 200. It only has a 250W PSU, which is the problem. The least power consuming card (of newer ones) i could find, was GeForce 7200GS which said 350W. Does anyone know anything that could fit this? If there's no chance, i'll just skip it because it's not worth changing the PSU on this. So, any tips? Old and newer cards! Danke. Edit: Forgot to mention PCI-E.

Cheap laptop
Country and max price? And what do you mean by a good video card, seperate or an intergrated that's more powerfull than cheaper intergrated (phrased myself weird there)?

Virgin Media sent letters to file sharers.
Hmm, i never knew internet was so different in U.K from Sweden. Companies hiding spyware in their drivers? Wow! That's insane. That can't be legal, can it? I've also seen you have limit's on speed sometimes during the time of the day, i haven't heard this from any of my friends in other countries (including my country). Although i'm on adsl, i have full speed anytime. Although cable would be better, of course, it costs quite a bit here. Don't know if anyone outside of Sweden has heard it, but a new law here called "FRA" (Defense forces Radio Place), so they can legally monitor every electronic call (email, phones, internet.. etc). But some internet-provider companies here has already started encrypting their nets to keep their users privacy.

Buying a Desktop PC
PSU - A 520-600W PSU, Corsair/Antec/Chieftec... Or some other brand, do a little bit of research if you pick a "no-name" brand. CPU - If you aren't going to alot of multi-tasking, go for a dual-core, E8400 (3.0ghz, if i remember correct). Optical unit - Something like this: http://alina.se/productInfo.aspx?T2=SH-S203D%2fBEBE Video card - ATI 4850. It's cheaper, single slot and about 10% faster than the 9800GTX. Motherboard - Depending on what you want and what price class... Cheap: http://alina.se/productInfo.aspx?T2=CON ... 667%20R3.0 Middle: http://alina.se/productInfo.aspx?T2=P5K%20SE Expensive: http://alina.se/productInfo.aspx?T2=GA-EP45-DS4 Just make sure it supports your RAM/CPU/SATA etc. I'm too lazy to go to a Canadian store and check, but this should help somewhat.

OMG?! How did you know i was speaking to you! -.- If you've ever heard death metal and know how they sing, you know what i speak of. It's always funny to meet kids trying to growl or someone who've never done it before.
