Dunno if we're talking stand-up.. But the whole monthy-python (spelling?) gang are hilarious. Stand-up: Eddie Izzard and Peter Kay. One of my favorite non-cartoon "sitcoms" are Trailer Park Boys!
  2. Q6600 is nice for overclocking if you like that=) Yes, it's a good gaming computer. But as Nadril said, I'd chosen HD 4850, a bit more expensive but damn good. I must say I'm quite surprised by that price. I did a quick mock-up of equipment at a local store at me to see what my new computer will cost (will buy it in august): The only real different things i picked differently was an AMD Phenom 9850 (2.5ghz) and HD 4850, but no OS. Came out at 580 euros. Ah wait, you picked Vista i see, so naturally higher. Hm, checked currency-changer, yours is only 100 quid more. Ah well, good price you got there anyways =) Dunno if i should wait for the new 45nm processors from AMD or not... They will come in about 1-2months and give about 15% more performance than the current 65nm.
  3. If i haven't missed anything... I didn't see it you had tried taking screenshot of another game in fullscreen. So if you haven't tried it, try it. Download a demo of some game and open up fullscreen and take a screenshot if you don't have any games installed/laying around. Would be interesting to see if it's a problem for all games or just RS. (that is, if i haven't missed you mentioning screenshots in another game) Otherwise... I really have no clue, sorry to say. I would suggest contacting Nvidia or the place you bought your computer at with this issue. Just a quick question... Did you try older and beta drivers?
  4. It's chocolate ice cream isn't it? :D Who knows, i'd prefer if it was a good ale =) If i may hijack the thread further, there's some news about another OS from Microsoft - http://www.sdtimes.com/content/article. ... leID=32627
  5. JRE 6 Update 2, Graphics driver is Catalyst 6.2. Latest I can get. Only thing I can suggest then is to try both a "JRE 5, latest update" Java runtime, and a version of your graphics driver that is NOT too recent. Some older things work better than other newer things. :? ... (Please don't get mad at me over security bugs... I already understand there is that risk. :( ...) Other than that, try sloter's advice, and rig a dual-boot with a Linux distro. That way, you have both Linux and Windows to use. : ~Mr. D. V. Devnull Catalyst 6.2 is from early 2005. If you're suspecting your video card (i have the exact same one on one of my computers), you can download ATI Tool and press scan with 3d-view enabled to see if any artifacts appears.
  6. To my little knowledge about Vista, the only way is to disable UAC. Gah.. Give me 2009 or 10 for Windows 7! =)
  7. Hehe.. Shaz... NO COFFEE?!!! Argh... I couldn't sleep because of the head-ache then! Hm well, i don't have much to contribute, because others have coverd it quite well. Funny thing... These last two weeks, i was sleeping about 4h a day. Then, 3 days ago, i fell asleep at 10 (22), woke up at 4 in the morning... Awake for 30min then fell asleep and slept til 09.30! And since then it's going great, i've gone to bed at around 22.30 - 23.30 and woken up at about 08.30 - 09.30. Funny thing for me, exercising does not make me tired! Doesn't matter if i go for 45 or 120mins... early or late in the day. Well, this thread reminds me it's time for sleep! Good night!
  8. Hm, may i ask why i don't see Aura posting anymore? Kinda off-topic *but me wants to know!*.
  9. Why so many spyware/antivirus programs? It only takes up memory. Only if they are active. Having them just to scan every once in a while and the rest of the time being un-active doesn't make them take up memory.
  10. If you're getting 2 8800GS' you need an SLI-ready motherboard. Otherwise two cards will not work.
  11. Still not on my own computer lol. And seekad, link to your background? [hide=How does it look?][/hide]
  12. Phones and bluetooth... Two of my worst sections! Can't you just plug in the phone with the usb cable that came with it, and check the memories on the computer? My mom has some sony-ericsson phone, just drag and drop there when plugging it in (i don't like sync!). Same thing with our cameras... Plug it in, and check out the photos. Dunno if i should've written this... Perhaps it doesn't help you at all?
  13. Hehe.. i wonder how many hours/days this topic will live. Windows 7 (Vienna was it?), if i don't remember wrong, will use the same kernel as Vista, but reworked. I'm looking forward to it.

Blargh! I was just drinking some Pepsi. Haven't had soda/pop for many months, and my stomach doesn't seem to like it. I feel all weird! I can't really drink more than one glass of orange juice either without feeling strange. So now i'm confined to softdrink/lemonade.. water.. sweet rum and beer.

If you were older it would be worse. But since you're 14, i'm not very surprised. Although it does sound that they want to know a little too much about you. I remember when i was 14, once i came home a 04.00 in the morning, and my mom was sitting on a chair in the kitchen waiting and then started asking all these questions. But when i turned 15.. or 16.. I only said "i'm going to Patrik's house" and that was enough. They've never gone through any of my stuff, well... Once when i was 14 or 15 my mom was taking my laundry and cleaning out my pockets and found cigs, which was less fun. Ah and about.. "cigs.. drugs.. sex.." lol. I remember i was going to my then-current girlfriend when i was 15 or 16, in the evening, and when i had tied my shoes and was about to go out my mom asked me "do you need any condoms?".. I said something like "uhm.. erhm... I'm fine. Bye.". (going off-topic but.. ah..) And what happens if you say "stop asking me!!!"?
  16. What? I've taken numerous screenshots in the new detail and saved them with paint. I don't it will make any difference using another capturing utility, but it's worth a try a guess. You could also try, if you have the availability: Try another screen and another cable (dvi or vga) and see if it works. Using another monitor wont make any difference, if it was unable to display the picture then you wouldnt see the runescape screen either. Yes you're right, sorry. I should sleep more.. But he still needs to check out the other advices, if he haven't fled this thread, that is.

  18. DJ Alien - Invasion New speakers and a sub... ahh... The sound!
  19. Albatron has two PCI graphics cards, 8500gt and 8600gt. http://www.albatron.com.tw/English/prod ... eForce%208 But i'd rather spend the money you pay for those PCI cards on a new computer, or atleast a new motherboard which has PCI-E.
  20. You were one of the first players, checking out the beta-tests? =) I play alot of games, and i've always done it. I keep playing RS because it's cheap, kinda fun and you can play it anywhere, even on a bad computer. I haven't played WoW or AOC or something else of an mmorpg, because most of them costs way too much, 20$ a month or something? I'm waiting for DB3. And i don't care what other people say about RS, it's their oppinion.
  21. Tell me about it.... Rammstein - Du Hast (English Translation) You you have you have me you have asked me you have asked me and I have said nothing Do you want, until death seperates you, to be faithful to her for all days No Do you want, until death, which would seperate, to love her, even in bad days No Great song, but horrible lyrics Hope you've heard the German lyrics of it. Sounds much better. Deep lyrics? Nah, but cool music! Hm, much modern-mainstream-pop has crappy lyrics. And also alot of techno/trance has THE BEST lyrics!!! Woohoo! Like "come down to the beach, it's party tonight!" lol. Goa has nice lyrics, much about mushrooms =)
  22. Wow nice! Cucumbers and everything! I have two questions: I saw you had some big potatoes, were they just randomly that big? Because my dad always plant some potatoes, but they have never gotten that big. Maximum size is maybe 10-20% smaller than a normal roun tomato, but the most of them are like really small. And, me and some friends have been thinking of (just for fun) buying a tobacco plant, to see if it'd be possible to get a cigarr out of it. I think they sell it here (Sweden). But how hard do you reckon it would be? (of course you gotta check what sort of soil, which type of plant and get a green house)
  23. Good luck Odie =) I'm still keeping my picture in the other thread tho. Maybe i'll post one here too, but i'm not sure.
  24. Total Annihilation. I still play it sometimes a year despite it being from 97. So damn great!
  25. It's a problem with your harddrive. Run checkdisk, as explained here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265/en You could check this guide out: http://www.adviserxp.com/0x00000024.html See if this helps. EDIT: Ah, didn't read carefully enough that you couldn't boot up. Taken from the "adviserxp" site: [hide=Check disk when being unable to boot]"Solutions if you cannot get into your system. Solution 1 Insert your Windows XP CD and get into Console Recovery. Run Chkdsk. Please read the tutorial called Console Recovery for a detail explanation of what it can do for you. Solution 2 (This may seem long winded but it could help you.) If you do not have the Windows XP discs then: Make sure everything is switched off. Your computer system switched off. Physically take out your hard disk that has Windows XP installed on it and attach it to a second desktop (make sure it is a slave by altering the jumper settings in the back. Look at the hard disks instructions on how to do this.)If you don't have a second desktop take it to a friend who has a desktop and attach it to theirs. When you have attached it, then run Chkdsk on that drive. Use these commands. Chkdsk /p (performs an exhaustive check of the drive and corrects any errors.) /r (Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information.) Example: chkdsk c: /p /r The C: is the C drive that Windows XP is installed on.[/hide] If you can get into your system then get into a DOS prompt and run the same chkdsk command.
