Logistics - The Trip

Usually IE is a bit more resource-hungry than FF. But i always run IE when playing RS, i don't know how to put it but it has an "active java window"... On FF or Opera i have to click a couple of times in-game before i can write, with IE i can write as soon as a switch to that window (i'm usually surfing or doing other stuff at the same time). Actually, i have quite many problems with FF3, it keeps crashing every now and then.. But i don't run it so often so doesn't matter.

Start up in safe-mode and check if it works to get on another site. If that doesn't work: Take a usb memory, plug it into another computer and download Spybot Search&Destroy and Ad-Aware (you might want to download an AV like - Avira/Avast/AVG too), transfer to the usb. Plug the usb into the infected computer, install the programs, update and run scans. Attention - If you have a cheap memory or something on 256/512 - use that. Because if you can't get rid of it, the virus will most likely transfer itself to the USB - plugging it into another computer will infect it. So be vary of this suggestion.

Hm, you could try downloading a beta-driver or an older driver and see if this helps. This sounds sweet! I've played Kotor at my cousin a couple of times, was really cool. And now as an mmo? WOOHOO! But... How will i have time for everything?

Usually it comes out 6 months later so i'll be expecting it in October/November. I hope its not a year, I can't wait that long :( Also Oldjoe, have you played Vice City or San Andreas? If not you've missed out heaps. I've played a couple of GTA3 games before on PS2 at a friends house, but never really got into them. GTA4 seems really neat... I'd really like to play it, but i'm buying a PS3 just for one game lol. The computer is enough for me =)

AC2?! Z0mg! I haven't heard about a second, but to me, september sounds too soon... I mean, if they'd be making it then there should be some more info about it. But a second game should come, perhaps late this year or next year? I love Assassins Creed.. Too bad i finished the whole game in 2-3 days lol. If GTA4 somehow magically shows up for pc i'll buy it, but i'm not too confident. Otherwise i only planned to buy DB3. Test Drive should come to me next week, altho it's from last year, it's really nice. Not much games tho... Verac's skirt+Fletching cape is not a nice sight lol. There's a big hole in it and people who i've passed by has said "dude, you got a hole in your cape".. lol. There should be some update in a while to fix these bugs, otherwise it's quite pleasant. But i'm still not playing alot, despite the the new detail. Why... Why couldn't Assassins Creed been longer?!?! Finished it in two days.. bah.

I can't count how many times i've seen the movies =) My favorite episode: Return of the Jedi. Favorite Scene: I don't know... Seriously, there are so many good scenes. If i have to pick...: When Palpatine is almost killing Luke (Return of...) and Vader decides to rescue his son. Favorite Jedi: Yoda! The speedy green. Another one i like is Plo Koon (spelling?). Favorite Sith lord: Darth Vader. I really liked Revenge of the Sith, it is a pretty dark movie. Btw... She who played Leia in the originals, she was damn hot in the Return of the Jedi.

My first two suggestions are: Download the latest driver from Nvidia here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us And when choosing graphics details before logging in, turn off AA. If that doesn't work: I currently don't have my computer with an Nvidia card here (getting it back next week), i don't remember how exactly it looks in the Nvidia setting, but it should be similar to the ATI: Right-click the Nvidia icon on your taskbar, 8800gts (or if it says "3d settings" when you right click), 3d settings - Anti-Aliasing, Application managed/off. If that doesn't work, open the Nvidia control panel. Go to "global settings" and somewhere there you should be able to turn off Anti-Aliasing completely. (sorry for the poor explanation, i don't remember the exact directions in the Nvidia control panel) I know some people has had trouble taking screenshots with AA on, on UT04. I know it isn't a problem for every game, but it's worth a try.

What's your: Budget Power Supply Unit And what do you plan on using card-x for? Games, new/old? And what's your current computer configuration?

[hide=] Nope, you're wrong. Actually it's the opposite: since service pack 1 it shows that you have 4GB, but it doesn't use it. The real limit varies, because 32 bit is actually limited to 4GB of memory, but the other components use it too (i guess that's video card, but not sure), while 64-bit is limited to something above 30GB 84GS is supposed to be PCI-e so these card should fit. but.. It looks like 9500GT doesn't exist. If you mean 9600GT, that's a good card, would make your pc a little bit more future proof. 8600GT is a bit old and cheap too, but if you get it you will get to play crysis without changing any other parts. Yep, but if you want way better value for the money, (if you play newer games...) Nvidia 9500GT (successor to 8600GT), it performs about 20% faster than 8600GT^^ But if you don't plan on running new games then 8400GS is a good choice. It will have no problems with Halo 1 or RSHD.

For a Geforce card you need an SLI-ready motherboard. And in my opinion a dual-gpu performs better than 2+ cards in SLI. Furthermore, your card cannot run SLI (8400 x 2). And you can probably run Crysis (with 7-10fps?) if you put the resolution down to 800x600 and everything on low and setting your card on performance (vs smoothness), my guess is it would still perform very bad. If you want to play new games and not set every setting down the lowest, you'll need to get a better card. 8400GS is fine for movies, older games, surfing.. etc. But it's not really meant to be a gaming card. From what i can see you already have 3gb of RAM. MS has stated that if you put in 4gb into Vista 32-bit, even tho you don't see the whole amount, the unseen amount is being used. But since you can't really play (new) games with this card, 3gb is fine. Even if you're playing some older stuff, you won't experience a serious boost. If you want to run Crysis on high detail, a card like ATI 3870/4850/4870/4870x2 or Nvidia 9600GT/8800GT/9800GTX/9800GTX x2... etc.. is needed.

Before i answer the other questions, please mention what your graphic card is now? I don't see it in that picture.
