As cruiser said, and there's some new video cards coming out in a couple of weeks. ATI 4850 will be launched for 199$ and 25-40% better performance than 8800GT. And if i don't remember wrong, very soon, Intel is shipping out some new CPU's=lower prices on older ones. So you will be in a very good spot to buy a new rig =) (Nvidia will ship out two new power hungry cards in a couple of weeks, thus lowering the price on their older ones)

Hi. I just thought i'd create a post to let you know (especially Sloter) that my computer is up again. Ironically enough, my computer went down about the same time the forum did. Well: I called the computer shop where i bought the computer last week. And the guy i spoke to suggested: Fault-search+new motherboard. He said alot of strange things -.-. I tried to explain that i couldn't use the windows xp disc to format, but he didn't want to listen/didn't understand... And then he started mumbling about "we do not give support over the phone on how to install xp", i said "uhm... I know how to install xp... It's just that it won't load!". Alot of other idiotic things that he said, but i can't remember... Because i thought the whole time "does this guy know anything...?". Anyways, i ended up using "dariks boot and nuke". Took about 7h, then formatting with the xp disc (1h). And installing xp. Took roughly 2-3 days getting back the stuff i had. I lost alot of pictures and media due to my own fault. And also, my components must be some cheap stuff. Because i've had a couple of blue-screens (since i had to open the computer and switch the bios jumper), they must be really sensitive... -.- (and yes, i grounded myself and used gloves). But anyways, up and running! And i will never use that shop again to purchase my computer parts. I want to keep this thread open, because i need to buy a new cpu-fan. During the winter it was no problem, 25-30C. But now, when summer has arrived i'm pending between 38-50C. Yesterday it even went up to 60C. And there's no dust, all parts clean, and the computer is on a quite open space, so it has enough air. And my question is: What cpu fan to buy? I have some mini motherboard, so i don't have alot of room for a fan. Hmm, to me it looks like they are trying to get back/keep players playing. It's the exact same thing as when they released information about Summoning after their f-ups in november/december. To make people forget/distract about their massive changes before.

I'm not gonna get into the whole Vista talking, but some programs (and a few hardwares) are incompatible with Vista. But for a normal user who don't use, for example, a music editing program of some sort, Vista should work fine. But min 15gb HD and 1gb RAM.... lol. P.S - You could use Open Office instead of MS Office, eh?

There's only two things i can come up with atm: Someone is leeching of your router in the house/neighbourhood (example, i can see a neighbours wlan and his house is 20m away) that isn't allowed to. But the probably correct thing is that your antenna on your (i assume) pci-e card is too weak, or the router antenna is too weak. I have the same problem on my new computer, only 2/5 bars but that is due to my pci-e cards antenna is too weak and not the router antenna.

Nice nice, but why do you want to pay 300+ euro for a GTS card? Buy an 8800GT and overclock, it will perform the same if not even better, for about 100eu less.

Oh nice topic! Some bands i've gone to see... Iron Maiden (2000, 03, 05, 06, 07)... Not sure if i will go and see them at Stockholm Stadion this summer, because i didn't get a ticket when they were released (everyone buys 10 tickets and then puts the tickets on sale on some auction site with a 30% higher price... To be honest, i'm not preparing. My two goals since rsc has been to get 111 combat (110 currently) and 85 mining (83, 100k til 84). And those are which im focusing atm on. Call me stupid for not taking advantage of summoning when it gets released and getting a cheap combat level. But i want to train it the old way. After that, i will see what i choose to do...

I used Norton before, Norton is good for new users/inexperienced users but hardly satisfying for older computer users. I am currently using Panda Internet Security 2008, and i am 100% satisfied with it. Another good thing is that if you are using several computers in your home you don't need to buy AV for all of them. Instead you can install the Panda you have onto 3 computers in your home. If you want more info about this AV tell me. ----- Scanning Time?: Scanning time (just scanned my HD to see the time) - 19minutes. Update Daily?: Yes, automatic update. It has happend it updates two times (say in 15h span). So you are always protected against the latest known issues. Of course you can set it to not update and update manually if you'd like that. Definition List?: Yes. There's is all the information you need and easy to use. You can also send "suspicious files to PandaLabs", which is a neat thing. Forum and support service? :Yeah. Fast and good replies. ----- Other cleaners/spyware removers i use is: Ad-Aware SpyBot - Search & Destroy Advanced WindowsCare V2 Personal My computer works fast and is quite safe for being an windows computer lol.

Hmm, i can't think of a specific reason for it to sound. Since you aren't playing any (graphical heavy) games. And haven't overclocked it and it's not heating up to high levels... But as some say, maybe there's some dust or something at the fan/s, so try cleaning out a bit. And if it dies out after a while... I can't be a loose piece lol. And as someone, computers that has a couple of years on it's neck can sometimes tend to sound a bit weird.

Weird problem, never heard anything like this with any anti virus program. I'm using Panda so i can't really help you, but have you thought of emailing or posting and F-securities forum? This problem seems very strange to me, the only thing i had to do with my AV was to accept program X to connect to the net. Hmm, i would suggest you try AVG or Avast! For a couple of days (disable or uninstall F) and see if the problem still remains. If it does remain, there is something very strange going on which i couldnt explain. If it works perfectly to surf with one of those AV's installed, then it could be a bug... This is the only thing i can think of.

I can't agree, sorry. When mining gets some much needed updates i can sympathies with other skills.

Don't care what someone is, as long as it's not hurting someone. But i do think, that religion is used as an answer in questions when it shouldn't be. Sure, it's a bit hard for to gays to get kids with eachothers, but that doesn't mean it's wrong. Like "you will burn in hell, for you have sin in god's eyes!", is pure bs.
