From the information that I've read up on it, the Master Penance Horn takes twice as long to fill up, but holds twice the amount of experience within it. So, it's basically having 2 normal Penance Horns, but in one. And if anyone is wondering, it takes 10 waves to fill up 10% of the Master Horn (or 20% of the normal if I'm not mistaken), or on average, 1% per wave.

[ENDED] The Crew Wants You!
Codguy replied to Cowman_133's topic in Announcements, Rules and Security Warnings!
Well, I thought I'd add to the endless hours of reading applications, so I sent in my application today. Never had put much thought into wanting to join the Crew before, but I thought with open applications, why not? I've been part of Tip.it for so long that If I were to get accepted, I wouldn't mind giving some work back to the website and everyone :) Anyways, thanks to everyone who has to put up with all the application reading, it'll be a lot of work! :D And good luck to everyone who has applied or will apply! -
You have to realize that usually, SC Tools and most probably the Penance Horn are meant to speed up the actual training of the skill, however, the overall time consumed to train the skill and get the right tools, will either be equal to or greater than you'd normally spend on the skill. So, if that didn't make much sense, it is usually more time efficient to just train the skill without SC or probably the Penance Horn, due to the amount of time it takes to achieve those items, but it means you will be spending less time on the actual skill. This means that if you like to do SC or BA, and don't like training the skills, it is more efficient for you. So, people ask if it's worth it? It's worth it if you enjoy BA or SC, and dislike the skill.
-
Well, you'd have to trust that it is more efficient, as there would be no point to it. However, I believe tests have shown that, similar to the Dragon Hatchet versus the Rune Hatchet, the Dragon Pickaxe is ~10-15% more efficient than the Rune Pickaxe at mining ores. So, this would be good for anything that is above Iron basically. If you can afford it, it's worth buying, and selling back after you've done what you want with your Mining.

19-Jan-2010 - Barbarian Assault Improvements
Codguy replied to Da_Latios's topic in General Discussion
Apparently people have reported that while mining iron in the wilderness with Mining Brawlers, Sc Pickaxes, and the Penance Horn, you get 420 exp per ore, or 12x the experience. That would mean that the Horn is 2x the original experience, as well as SC being 2x the original experience. So rather than stacking the multipliers, you stack the experience, so SC + Horn = 3x. The Brawlers however stack the multipliers; in the wilderness it's 4x normally, but with SC and the Horn, you're looking at 12x the experience then. Seems logical to me. -
You know, I never really thought about this happening, but it really gives you a different perspective on a lot of things you might say in game, jokingly. I know, for sure, I won't be joking about this. I appreciate that Jagex can, and is obligated to do this sort of thing, because even if 99/100 people joke and just get a warning, if that 1/100 is thinking about, or actually going to attempt suicide, or something dangerous to others, then it's worth the time by all parties involved. Ending a life is a very serious matter, and I'm joyous that Jagex will at least try to help, no matter what. It goes to show that Jagex isn't all about making money, but are trying to also be good citizens of the world. Although, I guess you could argue that they're saving you, to save ~$5 a month for them :P

Extremes + Overloads :)
Codguy replied to onedaysoon's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
I see what you did there. Congratulations on some of the best potions in the game :D I was happy I already had 89 Herblore when extremes came out :) But definitely something very worth having around in your bank! -
Seems as if the 3x is true then, combining SC Pickaxe and Penance Horn. Well a SC Pickaxe lasts for approximately 15-16k experience, so if you get 420 experience per, that means it would last between 36-38 ores. That's pretty quick :ohnoes:
