2008-2009 Tip.it National Hockey League Thread!
Something said like that would bring me completely against gun control. But to stop being a giant jerk to you, in all fairness, I realize you haven't been "in" to hockey for that long so I'll cut you a break ;) As I stated earlier in the thread I've been playing for 15 years and watching since I was in the womb. I can see where you might get the idea that it is similar to basketball, but let me tell you, it is definitely NOT. The speed of hockey is ridiculously faster compared to that of basketball. I think the only comparison I can fairly make between the two is that they're both played in the winter. Just keep watching games and snag a rule book if you can (hell, I'll send you my old USA Hockey rule book from back when I used to be a ref) and check out some of the basic rules (offsides, icing, 2-line pass, etc.) because it will allow you to understand the game a lot better. Glad to see more people are getting into hockey.

Fox Freakout over Sarah Palin magazine closeup
What has this country come to...? Sometimes I really wonder where people's priorities in life are. As if one single picture is going to lose the McCain/Palin camp the election. I think Palin has done a number of stupid things to lose the election for McCain way before this cover.

So what does a Scientologist believe?
Yeah the second half was more a general statement to be thrown out there, not directed towards you. I do like your reasoning behind why it's an oxymoron, though!

Halloween
St. Cloud State Halloween is one of the better ones. Me and some buddies are dressing up like Campus Security for the night and getting completely sloshed. It's going to be a great time :D

Helpful tips needed :D
Welcome to University :) As your teacher may have said, the best way to study is a little bit each night. You have 25 minutes to go over your lecture that you had that day, don't you? Use this test as a wake-up call that it's not lay around and not study time anymore. As for what you can do for this test, I would recommend (as stated before) skimming through the chapters. Look at main points at the end of the chapters and use the study questions for small amounts of help too. If there happens to be any boldface words, MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THEM because they are the most important terms in the chapter. Finally, use common sense. It's a simple bit of advice, but it works. If it's multiple choice, eliminate all wrong answers and you'll find yourself in a much easier boat.

So what does a Scientologist believe?
Haha, yeah. Look at the amazing entertainment we'll have: George Carlin, Bill Hicks, and almost every musician in the history of rock 'n' roll. Man, screw heaven!

Agreed. The league is protecting Crosby the same way that they protected Gretzky. After the 80s, Gretzky was horrid, but he brought in money for the league.

So what does a Scientologist believe?
Please (and no I do not mean to be a jerk), tell me how debating religion is an oxymoron? And I know that many people have gotten mad at me for debating Christianity on the sole fact that I say "god does not exist". I think a lot of Christians (at least the ones I have spoken with including my family) put up the wall when I say that one little phrase. Debating religion goes on a two way street. Perhaps I get offended when you say, that because I don't believe in god or recognize that jesus is my savior, I'm going to hell and that I "need to be saved". In all honesty, that does offend me, but I'll put it aside to have a debate about it. I think that some of the believers need to settle down a bit and realize that some people don't believe in it and we're not going to walk on glass for those that do.

YouTube's new button
I had it say "Wake up, Blaine, a wonderful new day is here to greet you!" around 50 times this morning until my roommate got up. He gave me the dumbest look in the world and then we both busted out in laughter. Thank you, YouTube!

So what does a Scientologist believe?
I would and have bashed Christianity on these boards on multiple occasions. I find cults, religions, and superstitions to be all in the same category, very primitive in nature, and not applicable to civilized people living in the 21st century.

The Red Wings will never have a hard time repeating. If they still had Scotty Bowman, they would have had more cups in the last few years.

job ideas/get rich quick schemes
Well this is the deal that my friend and I used back in high school that made us great spending money: We would make a trip up to the local Sam's Club (wholesaler) and buy bulk boxes of candy bars (Snickers, Butterfinger, Crunch) and things of large candy (Airheads, Airheads Sour Ropes, etc.) and sell the candy bars for $1 each and the Airheads for 25 cents. The Airheads Sour Ropes we would sell for $1 also. Seems like a simple plan, but the thing is, our school had a no soliciting policy, same as most schools. The only exception to this policy was when school organized clubs (Spanish Club, Choir, Band, FBLA) would have fundraisers. When they would fund raise, most of them would sell candy bars. They sold the 'fundraiser bar' which was not a name-brand bar. That also made it a bit tricky. Since I had friends in most clubs in the schools, I would have them get my friend and I each one of the fundraiser boxes that kids carried around selling their fundraiser bars in, and my friend and I would put our candy in the boxes. Now the candy bars from Sam's Club were approximately 35 cents per bar, so we're making nearly 70 cents on each bar we sold. In an average week we'd make probably 50-60 extra dollars just because kids knew we were selling the brand name candy bars. A few teachers caught on to us and our scheme, but they just congratulated us on our entrepreneurship. It was an awesome way to make money with almost ZERO work involved. If any of you want to use this method, you surely can. Just make sure to tell me how it goes.

2008-2009 Tip.it National Hockey League Thread!
I've been playing hockey for 15 years and used to love watching hockey, but since the lockout, I've been a little disappointed in the NHL. It used to be different, I miss the mid-90s rivalries and players. I follow the Wild a little bit but not too much.

Starting to Smoke
This is what I'm trying to explain and that's why I brought up the example of military experience. It just doesn't seem like someone who uses marijuana would be nacking it like he is. The type of person who would do that usually does NOT use or has used once or twice. Which is also why I brought up the 3 first times you do it and how I've seen people react differently to it.

Starting to Smoke
Maybe if you tried them more than once you would understand. There's a little code my friends and I like to use. It goes a little something like this: First time-Nothing. Second time-You don't understand what you're feeling. Third time- You embrace it and feel bliss. I could go ahead and post a bunch of military tactics that I found online, but since I've never really experienced any type of war or battle, I would just be blowing smoke. Until you start blowing smoke more often (in the literal sense), you're just blowing smoke when you post facts about marijuana, because to any user, you obviously have not experienced it enough to rag it.
