  1. Heh, this reminds me of Cyanide and Happiness's "Jesus Comic Week". It's a good thing for the authors of that comic that most Christians aren't as bad about this as some Muslims are.
  2. Ooh! Ooh! I want one!
  3. We already do this in most of my classes. I mean, especially in English last year that was like 50% of the class time was class-wide discussions. And they really added a lot to the class. Then again, I'm in Honors so maybe since there's less poser "gangsta"s in the Honors class, or less d*cks who are trying to be cool by interrupting with some [developmentally delayed]ed crap, and more people who are actually willing to contribute to the discussion - you know, it helps a little.
  4. Emo

    Flametrooper replied to kelem_ryu's topic in Off-Topic
    Emo as most people see it - i.e. a dude who wears tight jeans, black band shirts, listens to "emo" bands, has a crappy haircut, and cuts himself - is really just a stereotype. An over-generalization, blanket statement, whatever. The word itself is a label, one that is incorrectly applied to a lot of people. The "culture" of goth/punk/emo has really been around for a long time and probably will be around for a lot longer. I'm not a part of it but I know several who are, and a lot of it isn't what most people think. And just because you wear black, and think songs about death or with deep, emotional messages are cool, does not mean you a) cut yourself B) are depressed c) Are a "f*cking loser f*g p*ssy who needs to get a life and get f*cking laid". Maybe you're like me, and don't buy into all of the subculture and simply enjoy the depth of some of the songs. (Yeah, some of the songs suck too, but you've got your bad apples in every bunch.) ooh, almost forgot the tag. [canijointhegrouphugtoo]
  5. Guild Wars Prophecies (Original campaign) - PC Civilization (really the whole series - I guess I like #3 or #4 the best) - PC Counter Strike - PC Pac Man/variants - Everything (Hey, it's a fun, simple, original little game! For when you only have a coupla minutes.) And I dunno if this counts, but from what Mass Effect looks like, I may actually save up for a 360 to get it when it comes out; I'd like to reserve space #5 for Mass Effect even though it's not out yet. I think it looks really cool. Yeah, as you can see, I'm really mainly a PC gamer, though I do have a DS and I may get a Wii.
  6. Wha? WHY does everyone's school start at like 8:30 and end at like 2:30 or something? Mine goes from 7:45-3:00; on Wednesdays the marching band has to stay at school all the way until 8:30 pm, and then there's the football games we play for! You guys have it so easy...
  7. Yeah its a great warm-up game for Rugby Training. Good times indeed. :) Though the best game in history (which me and my mates played all the time in Junior school) was Red@$$. It involved throwing a tennis ball against the wall and if it rebounded and was caught on the full (or caught after one bounce with one hand - "one hand, one bounce") that player who threw the ball had to run to the wall and touch it and the person who caught it could throw the ball at them as hard as they liked while the other person was running to the wall. Also if you fumbled the ball while trying to catch it you had to drop the ball and run to the wall and touch it while you get the ball thrown at you by the first person to pick the ball up off the ground (when you touched the wall you were safe and no one could therefore throw the ball at you then). IF you were to throw the ball away instead of putting it on the ground where you were situated (when you fumbled the ball) you had a free shot at you from a designated player which involved turning around on the wall while the tennis ball was thrown at you hard from 10 metres away. Probably the greatest and most epic game I've ever played in my recesses and lunches at school (especially since I was great at the game) :P . Geez I miss those days. Damn, that's a fun one. I got pegged in the nuts playing that once (owwww) but that was always a damn fun game.
  8. I love that Motivator thingy. :
  9. Daaaaaanngg...... :shock: We have about a third that much... ...yeah, it looks like : 0 - Jazz Band (yeh, I take a 0 period, it's not that bad) 1 - Marching Band 2 - English 9 Honors 3 - Physical Science Honors 4 - Geometry Honors 5 - Beginning Guitar (I know, I'm a guitar noob wannabe, I get it already) 6 - Spanish 1
  10. ^ || Me?
  11. Yeah, that's basically my standpoint. Being a musician helps you walk in the artist's shoes.
  12. I'm going to jump on the "PCs Own, Let's Bash Henman" bandwagon now. Is there room? The reason a PC is the best gaming system is because of 1)ease of upgrades, at least compared to consoles; 2)Far bigger selection covering far more genres; 3)Ability to do so much more than just play games; 4)Ability to support high end graphics a la Half Life 2, Bioshock, Crysis, and the rest. Or even guild wars, that game has some good graphics. The graphical quality a good PC can produce can really beat up most console games. Oh and I almost forgot 5)Controls. The controls of mouse+keyboard are, at least for me, far more intuitive, and far easier to use, than a console controller. Then again, that one's more personal preference than the other 4, which is why I didn't list it earlier.
  13. That sounds like a feat. How'd you get survivor on an Elementalist? My ele died so much I made a W/R in hopes of staying alive better.
  14. I am a musician. Not professionally, but I have been paid for it. I play trumpet, drums, and guitar. So, don't assume things about people. Hm? I'm not exactly assuming anything about anyone - I said that musicians work hard to produce what they do and music isn't as easy as some people think - how's that assuming things about people? I'm confused :?
  15. Yes, Eco-freaks annoy me. I mean I like helping the environment but those extremists make us regular environmentalists look bad. It's like Muslim extremists making people hate other Muslims.
  16. ^ I've heard of that being done before, especially with hamsters. Yeh, it's kinda stupid how people get freaked about dogs and call cops and stuff when the dog was just, well, being a dog, and never hurt anyone. :x
  17. High school's not as bad as you think, really. At least it wasn't for me. And be confident - that really helps. It's like you've got this aura, which tells people whether or not you're the sort of person that they could piss around with, and if you can be confident and outgoing, or relaxed, and not shy, apprehensive, and fearful, then your "aura" will be positive and people won't bother you as much. See what I'm saying?
  18. It hurts the bands, who do work for their money (If you think music is an easy, lazy man's profession, try actually doing it, it's not very easy to play good and it's a lot of work to practice) and have, in my opinion, earned it. I rarely pirate songs. If I ever do it's because I dislike the stupid RIAA and it's fun to beat the system.
  19. Who cares which it is, it's a damn good game. :P It's an unusual style, yeah, but it's fun. Then again, I like soloing and working alone anyways, so the instanced-ness of it is a good thing to me. It might not be to other people, of course.
  20. What I wanna know is, how effective has it been? Because in my elementary school (and even in middle school, I mean you'd think they wouldn't be as protective by then) they banned a bunch of crap, and no one really payed attention. They lifted the ban after a while because all the supervisors got fed up running all over the place trying to enforce it.
  21. Guild Wars mostly.
  22. =/

    Say it's a new look or you're starting a new style and expressing your right to be different, or something like that, lol. People really probably wouldn't care (at least, they don't at my HS, dunno what it's like there) Oh, and @striker: Most people actually don't think the dirty-lumberjack is the epitome of manliness. And girls don't like a stinky dude, lol. :P
  23. My name comes to Cook Raven. I don't really think that's a secret message - I don't really like cooking ravens.
  24. That's what I was thinking - pretty expensive way to f--- with an elephant.
  25. Yeah, being in band kinda helps. If I ever feel lost I just ask a band member (we're everywhere), and when in need of a lunch spot I just go eat in the band room or at the band table. And people don't mess with the band or call them band geeks because we've got some big guys and hardcore moshers in our band. It's pretty awesome. Being a freshman (I started 2 days ago) isn;t near as bad as I was afraid. :
