1. I disagree. Granted, I don't hang around crowded places that much, but the people I've met on RS that were younger seem pretty cool to me. 2.I've never experienced this. 3.I don't PK, so I don't know about this one. 4. I would think that wide open spaces would mean less interaction with others. This would mean less rude people. 5. Is it greed for GP and items? Or could it be desire to level up? When there is a greater demand than there is supply, of course you have to fight for the desired item(beast, ore, log, etc). I'm not saying that there aren't some a-holes in the game, but most RS players are pretty decent in my experience.

Locking skills seems like a useless idea. If you don't want to train a skill, take the time to make sure your combat settings are set correctly. It's not like you can accidentally train a non-combat skill (darn it! I accidentally planted seeds and levelled up farming!). When I see something like this I wish I could find the person that posted it and choke him to dead. Death threats on forums aren't very cool. Grow up kid. I guess you could milk cows all day and not get xp. Any "milking pures" out there care to comment?

Back in 2007, my friends 13 year old son was playing on his computer, and I asked him what game he was playing. He told me Runescape.com, and I (and my brother) have been hooked since.

Although it rarely happens, if someone asks me what games I play, Runescape is the first game I mention. I have yet to receive an insulting remark.

Let me get this straight, you fail at merchanting and now all merchant clans are bad. If you had made millions would the clans be awesome? Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Religiously, Jagex allows pretty much all the "commandments" to be broken. Other Gods, false idols, name in vain, no sabbath day, killing(both npcs and PvP), stealing(there's a skill for that!), and more! But to use that as justification to allow racial slurs is just wrong. OT: I see no need to change the censor. I've yet to have a problem communicating with people on RS, and I think that shutting it off would cause too many instances of ignorance running amok.

I think that if EVERYONE became a DIY skiller the economy would take a big hit, but nothing short of RS shutting down would kill it. Hypothesizing is mostly fantasy anyway. You should've read at least the summary. Hypothesizing is not at all related to fantasy. If the hypothesis can't be proven, it is fantasy.

I wonder if "Joe" is really an average joe in RS. I hope not. I differ from Joe a lot. I like quests, I don't play mini games often(combat or otherwise), and I try to mix it up as far as training skills. Joe sounds like someone who plays the game for a sense of accomplishment, I play for fun.

The first article was quite good, and the second? Well, let's just say that I failed statistics but even I could grasp the conclusion. Two good reads =D>

Yes, I do think that a parent has a responsibility to decide what their child should or should not play.
