The mage doesn't use magic; you cannot evade the damage he deals in any way, except by forcing bork to summon legions just at the time the mage fires a spell at you. That means maximize melee/prayer (bandos/proselyte) and pray melee. Most legions will use melee, but even proselyte blocks almost every ork legion range att, so you will be fine.

Instead, when the drop rate is approximately 1-200, we can go 500+ kills and get it. I am not saying guaranteed after 200 kills, but rather more likely to get as you kill more. EG, after you kill 100 TDS your drop rate is 1-150, instead of 1-200 or w/e. Never 1-50, or even 1-100, but still either a better chance of that drop, or something to that effect. It could either reset when you get that rare drop, or have the chance to get that item go up a lot less, but stay constant, even when you get that drop. For sake simply of argument let us say the drop rate of a whip is currently 1-500. For example, this would make it so people who kill 2k abbies without a whip would have a 1-300 chance of whip after 2k kills, but once they get a whip they go back to 1-500. If the second idea I mention was implemented, after 2k kills dry their rate is 1-400, but after the slayer gets a whip, the drop rate stays at 1-400. With either system, with each block of monsters killed without its rare drop, or one of that drop, (and I mean good rare drops, silver ore or d stone at abbies doesn't count), you would either get that item, or have your chance go up. This amount could change. It could be 200 abby demons, or 50 TDS. Thus even if your having bad luck, you are not really "dry" since your chance is going up. That's what the random number tables are for. However, you expect to have something similar to lootshare. It wont work. Lootshare doesn't work this way. That's why random number tables can ensure you will get something good after nothing and that you get nothing after having a great luck streak.

Jagex mentioned they are working on a system that counters "everyone buying out" (the price doesn't rise much), while keeping "everyone buying loads" as a normal expectation and price rises properly. (the strikethrough is for an implied meaning, it wasn't actually/literally stated) That should counter the epic rise, but then we will get an epic forced junk trade, since even very expensive methods are widely used for training, and if the price goes down too much, we will naturally have a situation when everyone's buying yet noone is selling and there aren't enough transactions to affect GE prices. (Imagine that plain pizzas don't actually have the 300gp cap and you will understand. When you get 19 / month = unbuyable) So until they will introduce that system, everything will keep rising, except junk. It's absurd that some items have sky high prices and other items are dirt cheap and there's nothing in between.

Actually, merchanting is only one part of the problem. At the end of the summer, everyone expected mid/high-end items to crash. They started crashing... and two days after they started rising, continuing up to this day. Best examples are the whip and any gs. Whip "crashed" from 1.8m to 1.38m and now it's over 3m. Bgs crashed from 22m to 20m and now it's 25m. The only possible explanation is that the PvP exploits did cause a severe inflation that cannot be countered. And then these merch clans... Any high level [fruit] tree seeds are always crashing, so they are unsellable, while yet other items, like your mentioned veracs is continously merched and it never drops/crashes.

I'm going to make a VLS/maul + range pure (that means sticking with 20 attack). Ofc, I would like to pk in f2p as well and that forces me to use range (addy)/mith scim. What are the base stats for it to start being effective? 20 att + 50 str/range (but the drops will suck?)? 20 att + 60 str/range? Also, I'd like to train magic, because from my main's (when it still was a pker) experience I know well that dragonhide + low/medium magic level = equal fight with a same level mage. Also, I've heard that too high hp level is not good for a pker; so I assume I'll just cast curse type spell in fog until out of runes and then finish with melee? Any better way?

I enjoy the storyline(s) introduced in each quest, however, I'm not changing my attitude.

Just let me remind you of the world swap timer. It was created ONLY and ONLY to prevent mass outbuying runes (maybe some other goods) just after update (those who got good connections, or manage to click at the right time to get a good place in the line) in all servers & selling for profit to players. Some time later, we got infinite stock. Now we have personalized stock (cross-server). So the answer is: NO, THEY WILL NEVER EVER REVERT ANY SUCH CHANGE. NEVER (even though it's completely obsolete for several IRL years). And don't ask for it, I (as the majority of runescapians) HATE beggars. P.S. ditch serves as a warning as a warning about revs. On the other hand, it could be removed from PvP worlds.

I'm boycotting all quests for now. As you see, I'm quite beyond the max trade limit. The limited shop & no min GE price update rendered junk hard to make / obsolete. Knowing that, Jagex should have at least expanded the max trade limit for QPs (better idea would be just to double the limit), but they did not. Unless additional QPs give me a higher limit, I will not do any quests (including wgs), since I can get more xp + gps by just training skills/combat.

<500 on all, most are in the 200-400 range. Best (~90 ms) are random Eu and few USA worlds, while worst seem all non-Eu and some UK (UK ftl)/Sweden servers. On a related note, if they are going to open a server in my country, the ping will be < 20ms, whichever provider i'll use.
