  1. Then they aren't really Jewish. Simple as that. Cause I don't know 1 person from Israel who would rather celebrate Christmas (which has absolutely no historic value) then Hanukkah. Hanukkah is such a nominal holiday even in an orthodox prospective; it is simply celebrated so widely and outwardly due to its timing around Christmas. Even if someone didn't celebrate any Jewish holidays, or practice the belief of Judaism at all, they could still consider themselves Jewish. The word isn't confined to the realm of religion at all anyways, it can also imply a culture, lifestyle, and, in some circles, race. Also, you seem to think that Israel is comprised only of Jews, which is totally not true. The Christian percentage in Israel is larger than the Jewish percentage here in the US, and about 1/5th of the population is Arabic. My advice is to either accept the holiday for the modern consumerist ritual that it has become, or learn more about Judaism before you start telling people they aren't as real as you. Happy Holidays to you, too! :P You guys are way too cynical. So what if most winter holidays have been corrupted into the corporate hand that feeds the mass consumers? It's still fun to celebrate isn't it? I'll be spending my Chanukah (which can't properly be spelled in english no matter how hard you try) with my grandparents. And I'm gonna have fun. I'll reread the Macabees story for the billionth time. Rejoice over the adundance in oil, or lack there of. And then spin a dreidel or two. Gelt is the [cabbage].
  2. I'm not fond of the complexity, but I'll stick around because I've already invested so much time into this thread, I can't just quit. @Dusty 1) Objection to Earth map. Doom gave me back my East flank territories (Malawi/Mozambique/Zimbabwe) 2) You have too many anthems!!! I would complani about it, but they all sound so damn good
  3. Then whats the point of using battle tactics if its just going to be run trough a simulator? and I never had more than one army on a territory, I just swapped 25k troops with another 25k troops
  4. Lord have mercy! This game just WAY got complicated. Good thing I lack military. I would hate to keep track of all that stuff.
  5. My armies will conjoin to make two 50/50 swordsman/archer armies. With this hybris army, I will be marching from the nation my flag is currently in, into the northern coastal region. Swordman will be using a flanked tactic (2 columns) backed with archers in the rear, careful to keep on higher ground and keep archers in the back. A few swordsman have volunteered to stay bring up the rear in case of a suprise attack from behind. This will give the archers ample warning to return fire, and swordsman enough time to turnaround and defend the archers.

You misspelled the title, OP. :P What no Ramadan thread? Also, I'll be spending my Hewbrew Holiday with my grandparents for 8 crazy nights like I do every other year. It's not about the presents. It's just a good time regardless.
  7. New Boyz - Cricketz It's not what I'd call a good song, but its definiatly enjoyable.
  8. Yes i know It's because Al Gore plays as himself in Futurama, which that clip is from, occasionally. I'm watching "An Inconvenient Truth" for the second time, in my AS Geography Class, and it still amazes me, the facts and figures on that film are astounding. I think it was the part about the Polar Bears that got a lot of controversy because they didn't actually drown? the polar bears they had found starved or something?...or so I've heard. I've just been reading some newspaper articles about how a top leading research scientist, who was one of the main researchers promoting a cut down on CO2 in recent years, is saying that it is best if the global summit at Copenhagen fails, as we don't have a clear enough view on what we're trying to do, and that it would be best to start a fresh. You realize how scewed that data is right? The graphs are of very poor quality (bad science). Sample size, repeatablility, scale. All of these things were missing from the presentation. I'm not saying Al is wrong, because Global Warming is defiiniatly happening. I just don't think it matters. But I definiatly don't think that we should embrace it (like certain right wing Republicans)
  9. The first thing you did wrong was you tried to figure out women. They don't make sense. You will NEVER figure them out. You just gotta roll with it. Play the cards you were dealt. That sort of thing. If this girl isn't interested in you, she isn't worth your time. Wouldn't it be better to spend your time on a girl that's interested in you? Go, my child. And find this mystery women that will be attracted to you!
  10. Dude really? She's being social. Whether she wants to hook up with you, or hang out with you, does it matter? She's merely interacting with you. You're WAY over thinking it. Have some confidense in yourself. You sound like you hate yourself (which you justify by saying everyone hates you in your mind). You shouldn't. Love yourself, and others will love you too. People follow example.
  11. Men can now have kids(provided the planet provides the faciliites) Male reproduction is not cost efficient. And it would only cause morale questioning in my nation. Such technology is denied from my society, however my scientists will look into how the pregnancy tanks work, mostly out of curiosity. While digging random holes for fun in Malawi, many fossils were discovered. Most were same old same old, like raptors and large bugs. But scientists have relaized a potential in these petrified behemoths. A small section of Madagascar has been fenced off for a special cloning experiment....
  12. oh, lol. Logic fail. 2nd army is created in the same territory as the now 50k swordsman army. This 2nd army is 100% archers. If there is a rule about having 2 armys stacked, then the archer army will be made in the region west to the newest region. Also, the newest region "East flank" will be moving east agan using the same tactic as last time.
  13. likewise. I have 5.5k construction points. I constantly build a certain number of carriers and battleships every year. I was stacking points, which I will now use to construct space stations (the ones that actually matter and build stuff). In addition, I'm redirecting some funding that was previously in mining research to making said space stations "better" and worth more. Also, regarding regional influence. I'm not sure what that giant yellow circle was implying, but I would think I have pretty heavy influence over Ominlife and Met'Al. Not sure if that was properly labeld or not, it's tough to tell with no map legend.
  14. so you need a harbor to create more armies in new lands? makes sense. I'm assuming I took no casualties last turn, so that I am 35k strong still. I'm buckeling down in my current territory taht my flag is in and building a harbor, as well as giving them a chance to replenish. tommorow I'll be constructing my second army.
  15. $7,000 ! ! ! Wow. Well, I guess if you have expensive taste in hotels... Honestly, if you get married in the winter (anytime that isn't summer), then everything will be cheaper. air fare, room, ceremony. Everything. With enough research, I could plan a week honeymoon, have a good time, and keep it under a $4,000 budget. I'm not saying we'll be flying first class, but I think I'd rather spend the money on a house than a week in "paradise".
  16. Well, I asked her out (although she pretty much led me to it), and she said yes. :D Congradulations \:D/ *highfive* I love hearing good news updates on here.
  17. This barely ever happens, but for some reason the internet doesn't ackowledge the existance of that song very well. Short of buy the album its from (it actually looks pretty good, if I see it, I'd pick it up) I can only offer you this: http://cn.last.fm/mu...d+von+der+Sonne EDIT: ninja'd :|
  18. Her lyrics are dumb, but i admit her beats are solid. She should do a colab with Cascada (who is the same concept, with adverse strengths). That'd be pretty sweet. She's probably the first thing that I've ever taken off the coporate spoon. Ah well, it had to happen sometime. And it's not like I REALLY like it. Just the background music.
  19. Is the music on youtube as another link? If so, I can give you a link to strip the sound off it. Otherwise, I recommend dowloading "Audacity" (google if desired) which is a free program that is perfectly legal and can record sound from the out put, so it raises quality from a traditional bootleg. Yes this program is legal, and free. It's just fairly easy to abuse. You may want to look into downloading the "export.mp3" patch as well. I think it's called "LAME"
  20. I made a more comprehensive map for my battle tactic:
  21. They actually use that clip in Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth"
  22. Tree bomb "research" is complete. If an explanation is asked, I'll give details. Otherwise, whatever. Using this technology, I am going to develope some anti-bombardmant missles. I'm also working with Sere on a few projects that will not be disclosed at this time. If i don't piss off the Urk-Orz, they'll leave me alone, right?
  23. Swordsmen army, now at a strength of 35,000 (speaking of which, is there a way to replenish numbers?) moves to the Eastward region. The formation lacks a picture because my computer is sucking. Think of it as a two pronged attack. 8,000 troops are sent to the southern curve of the new territory, striking northward. 7,000 troops start on the north curve and barrage their way southward. The roundevous point being with the rest of the troops who are barreling through the center of the area. After randevous, a regroup will be established in the north east corner of the new area, ensuring eradication of rebellion.
  24. Jennifer Anisten fits that stupid wine adage perfectly. She's rediculously hot.
  25. I thought it was implied that over down time, the game is placed on hold? I figure this because while certain things can be done (like production, research and collection). But other things can not be done, like response and counters to other's actions. Example: You send a battleship to my homeworld. Before I have a chance to say anything, the forum dies. The forum is rendered useless for lets say, 3 days. In these three days, that battleship could actually arrive in my homeworld. But had the forums been open, I could have prepared a defence, and released a counter attack. This gives an unfair advantage to explanatory moves or "variables" while completely eliminating the response move or "variable". And this is why the game should pause when the forum goes down.
