  1. Smooth. Not a bad approach, truly original, however I fear that you may have pressured her into an answer. I'm actually surprised she still had the gall to say no. It's good to look out for your friends, but this is the kind of thing she needs to learn on her own, she can't possibly have you weeding out what guys she's allowed to date all her life. that makes you more a pupeteer than a friend. If they're truly not right, they'll break up on their own, then oyu can confront her and comfort her. That is your duty. Don't over step your bounds.
  2. yup.
  3. This topic was just given a real purpose. a nwe strain of "H1Z1" found in London can actually cause "zombism". Source: http://bouncewith.me.uk/europe/8027043.htm
  4. (this is just a rant, no need to give advice, it's just kind of funny) Me and my girlfriend went on a break kinda thing where we would have no commitment. Not only did she get two guys to get out with her in a week, but one of them was 11 years older than her. fml. True story, it's so sad it's hilarious.
  5. Source: http://bouncewith.me.uk/europe/8027043.htm H1N1 has mutated to H1Z1 in London and has the ability to restart the hearts of those who are already dead, causing them to live for at most 2 hours in a very violent state. Zombies are real. I didn't care about swine flu until now. NOW I'm scared.
  6. In my opinion Nerds are just more intelligent, and less social versions of Geeks. Otherwise, it's more or less the same thing. I'm a proud Geek.
  7. *slightly editted for benefits of reader* Now read it back to yourself. You sound a bit confused. And that makes sense. You just met this girl, everything is very new and to top it all off you're "fresh" off a long term relationship. I wouldn't consider three months fresh, but the important concept is that you do. I don't remember your situation from 50 pages ago exactly, but I do remember commenting on it for it's complexity. I assume you cared alot for your old gal and now you're having trust issues. perfectly normal reactions. For you I pray this girl isn't using you. I would say she isn't, but I'm not her. My advice is to keep your mind away from such thoughts, go to prom and have a good time.
  8. Dang. And for a second, you actually had me going. What flyingjj has been saying for the past 2-3 pages, I'm right there with him. I'm in a natural and long lasting relationship, The thought of objectifying women discgusts me, and the whole POA thing comes off as fake. I was ignoring all this because of all this proof and wisdom you and Lenticular were throwing around. But then you said this. I don't care how amazing a girl looks, or how confident you are - messing with someone else's relationship for personal benefit is the lowest of lows. I'm okay with the whole POA thing, it works, and it's a great way to interact and socialize...but interfering in someone elses relationship like that disgusts me. With great power comes great responsibiltyy I suppose. The ability to pick up any girl is great, just don't go crazy with it.
  9. That will certainly impress the girls  nothing personal Da_Latios Anyway, is it me or does every teenage girl seem to have histrionic disorder? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histrionic ... y_disorder)
  10. Sounds interestnig, and plausible. I'm glad they finnially found something to fight it. Only took a few trillion dollars. On a more pessimistic note, I don't trust this solution at all. Playing with our very evelutionary genes is a very risky buisness. What if this method is botched some how? What are the worst case scenario side effects? What if it unintentinally "turns off" a more important gene? Until these questions are answered and resolved, I suggest not using this method of prevention. But it's a great start.
  11.   You call that a problem? If you're really uncomfortable about it all, just don't call her and dno't th8ink about her again. At 23 she should hopefully know that these things happen and think nothing of it. But dude, Texas tech girls are supposedly good looking, and she's 10 years your senior. She probably knows everything. I'd keep the number and get an awesome hook up sometime in the future. Experience is everything...just imagine... On an unrealted update, I saw a topic that got locked about "friends with benefits". What is the general opinion on this manner? I've been fighting with my long time girl friend for a while now, and I think it could be an okay solution.
  12. WTF? Doesn't the supreme court have anything better to do? The case is like 6 years old now, get a new case. regardless, it seems a bit muc hto strip search a 13 year old for any reason. Especially cause she didn't have a record of any kind. Under different circumstances, I'd agree with the decision but this girl was clearly innocent.

the last three were pretty funny, but they seem rather git and miss. I think I'll stick to nrmal humor.
  14. No one rushes like America rushes. I have to to do everything like it's a race, or it just doesn't feel right. It's a bad habit I suppose, and it's fairly stressful, but it keeps my reactions sharp and my metabolism up. I agree, everyone is always in a hurry, and it is a problem. Just one I'm not willing to fix.

Life is as boring as you want to make it really. Need an injection of chaos? Do something extravegantly stupid. But that's mainly what causes so much evil (on the small scale) in the world. I suggest that Boris here finds a hobby. Or atleast somthing to get excited about.
  16. If you look at his re-election poll results and compare them to the areas to which voted him back in...it's shoking. There's a picture of it somewhere on the internet, feel free to google it yourself. The top 10 ranked most intelligent states voted against Bush. The 10 worst ranked intelligent states voted for him. It's a truly demonstrative picture. I agree, an IQ should be administered before the right to vote is given.

I agree with you. Being different is what makes this world great. It's why I don't like the mindless conformists. I like the unique, the estranged, the alienated...the INTERESTING. I could claim I'm different, and I am in my own individualistic way. Most people are. As for love as a science? and interesting idea, but could it really work? Love is a different feeling for everyone.
  18. Good job with the cell phone, but how long can you keep up that charade? Your bill will inevitably be mailed to your house, where the letter will have your name and a big phone company emblem on it. Just a heads up. Fix'd. Being broken up with in person hurts, but I'd much perfer it over being dumped in any other way. If you care about the person even a little bit (or ever did) and you want to break up with them...DO IT IN PERSON. Any other way is just insensitive and cowardly. Ask her what conclusion she's deduced. Using different words of course. Saying like that will certainly get a strange look and a no. See where it goes. If it starts going downhill, move on...If it'sa yes - congradualtions. If it's a complicated answer that only girls have the power to understand....Post it back on here and we'll decode it together. :) One of my very close friends is having the exact same problem. My advice: Don't dwell on it. You can keep it in the back of your mind if you'd like, but try to put your focus in something else. Possibly another girl. She's not ready to be with you, and there's no guarentee that she ever will be. She's avoiding you because being with you is awkward. She needs space to put her mind away from you. You should do likewise. Your in the back of her head, you should do the same for her.
  19. I'd say it's the perfect specimen for stem cell research. Without a brain, it's only human in body. The baby looks human, yes, but really it's just a ball of nerves, bones and muscles. It's a true shame, and I don't blame the mother for her decision (I'd have trouble giving it up, too) but the kid will never by any means be normal.
  20. I'm 99% sure that Perez himself is gay. So, offending the judge isn't a good idea in a competition. Personally, I disagree with her beliefs, but if that's the way she feels, then so be it. She's entitled to an opinion. No the judges should not put thier personal feelings into their judging, but what happened happened. When a judge does their job, they should be as objective as possibble. I would have given the crown to California, even though I disagreed with her. I would have seen her honesty and admired her for having a true opinion, compared to the rest of the zombified mindless girls out there. Perez is too subjective in his judging.
  21. Also true, and I see mmmCanibalism's point to. There were definatly some strong reasons for the South to want to keep their slaves (those huge plantations were hard to take care of) as well as political reasons (like the 3/5 vote rule). Perosonally I think the North won for two reasons: It had anti-racist support AND it was much better prepared for war, what with all that good industrialization. Truly, Union was for the best interests of the Northern states, but the national laws mostly benefitted the Northh, while pushing the South further in a hole. This was the reason for sessesion. The South was fed up with getting the short end of the stick and took matters into their own hands. Yes alot of these laws were created for a reason, but belittling the South was an unforseen consequence of the otherwise good laws. The South got beat up, and submitted to the Union. As the Nation grew we all kind of learned to work together (which was the idea of the Union). Although lately, Texas has been acting up, but that's a whole different story. As a united nation, the US is much stronger both militarily and economically. PLus the lack of slavery is a good thing. But it's all in perception.
  22. The American Civil War. I was thinking that too... but the good side won didn't it? :) There was no "good" side really. Yes most people see the North as the good side due to their lack of creedism/racism but in all reality, the South had every right. The South fought for honor, and the protection of their guarenteed rights for which were won through suscesion(sp?) from Britain. The North wanted unity more than anything else, the anti-racism was just a pleasant side effect. I suggest reading the book "The Killer Angels". (Good war book that explains very deeply the forgotten sides of the Civil War)
  23. The American Civil War.
  24. I can tell the OP is not American, because he expects us to actually do something (beneficial at that). Growing up in America teaches you one thing regarding this: Units of measurement are hard to understand, but it's better than metric. Seriously though, I actually find the imperial system much easier. I tried learning the metric system, but for some reason unknown to me I can multiply by twelves much more effectivly than I can tens. Whenever I convert metrics I always end up going in the wrong direction, or being off by a whole digit (like getting 100 rather than 10.) Once you get past the freaky names, the imperial system isn't so bad. Since the US and UK have so much influence in the world, why doesn't everyone just switch over to our system instead? That's the American way.
  25. Democracy is flawed. No doubt. but honestly? what other choices do we have? Totalitarianism? Who can trust one person in charge of everything? Absolute power corrupts absolutly Socialism? Even the government can be corrupt, someone somewhere will be getting heavily screwed. And at the cost of general freedom Communism? Although fair in the large scale, there is no way in hell a surgeon should be paid as muc has the guy mopping floors at your local McDonalds. For being all about equality, it isn't in the least bit fair. Republic? Too slow. The senate takes forever, and the system itself will run like maple syrup down a glacier. Nothing will be accomplished. Anarchism? No rules does not rule. Without government, Anarchism will cause exactly what it sounds like - anarchy. There is no form of governement that can possily be just, equal, fair, effective and morally correct all at once. It's more of a lesser of two evils kind of thing.
