You really haven't been following this closely have you? Stuff like this has been going on for awhile. People just migrate to different programs, so these scare tactics don't really work. Then they announced they'd be taking a new approach, I guess that didn't work too well. I follow this stuff as closely as the OP gives. This seems to happen all the time, yes. Pirating sites are constantly shut down, and more pop up. I understand how that works. But no one has ever killed themselves over it. Eventually I think the law is just going to have to let it go. That's my ideal anyway.

If the record companies don't feel bad enough about causing a mother of four to go bankrupt, maybe they'll feel something if they orphan 4 kids over two dozen songs. This will end all these rediculous fines and scapegoating. The law is using terror tactics (isn't that what America is fighting AGAINST?). Fight back.

Have fun watching movies from ten years ago as the entertainment market crumbles into turmoil. There are several consequences to that kind of thinking. Precisely, that's why people should adopt the OP's attitude. Quite honestly, I see this biproduct as a positive side-effect. The entertainment market is an atrocity, it's downfall could mean that it could be rebuilt - but better. I can't say precisly, but I'm pretty sure that Pirates of the Caribean: At World's End (the third one) cost more to produce than the 2nd trilogy of Star Wars as a whole. That's a crap load of money. And for what? to see some ugly Kraken's individual tenticles move? Not too mention that actors are way over glorified, and way over paid. Them and athletes deserve so much less than they have. They entertain us. Big friggin' deal. Half the time, my friends are more entertaining. And I don't pay them 10$ (US) to hang out with them for 2 hours. I think pirating will eventually lead to the downfall of Hollywood. And I say: "Walk the plank" I think pirating content is actually saving the entertainment world.

I can say with 100% honesty that if my superintendant did that to me, I would have beaten him infront of everyone. At least something would have come out of it then. I can't believe that school. WAY too uptight.

$10 isn't much unless you're a jobless and penniless child. Seriously, I'd rather have a high-quality film regardless. Either way, don't get me started on the whole piracy argument either. Movies, I personally couldn't be bothered to pirate. It's good though that the OP has his standards and has his morals in place. I might not agree with his stance, but I will defend his right to say it. Don't get me started on an argument about money/income. Some of us don't have the privelage of being middle class. Or above for that matter. You don't have to be a child to declare bankrupcy. On another note, I commend the fact that Salad is defending his morals. It's highly respectable. I just happen to think that his morals are a bit uptight to be polite.

I barely if ever actually browse the chans myself, but a good sum of my friends do, and I get natural spillover from them. Besides, you don't have to be ananymous to understand half of all the lulz that are being had. I do however browse encyclopediadramatica fairly often.

I'm killing myself right now for forgetting his name (it was something rather simple). Basically he and one other man stormed a Confederate outpost with about two dozen men stationed. He was low on ammo and shot like 5 or 6 as he approached. His buddy was immidiatly killed. He was shot numerous times (i can't find him on wiki due to my forgetting his name, so sorry for the vague details :wall: ) and suffered multiple stab wounds. He killed the ramaining men with a knife sticking out of him with his bare hands, and a knife. He walked back home to tell the tale. I wrote his whole story down in an old history notebook. I'm going to have to go hunt it down.

If you want to pick the scab, yes. Sometimes it's better to just drop it. If you find it eating away at you, ask her about it later. You are half the relationship, don't you know. Don't feel like you're not allowed to voice your emotions and opinions. She'll probably bring it up on her own. If she doesn't and you stil want to discuss it (be warned, it may be a rather unpleasant conversation) then feel free to bring it up.

I've had similiar issues in the past. I've learned from the experience. Tone down the jealousy abit. You have the right to feel hurt, but (how long have you been together anyway?) it's probably nothing. Yes this all seems suspicious, but I wouldn't sweat it unless she continues to blantantly, and knowingly hurt you. If you come off as controlling, teenage girl law dictates that she must repeat the action to get back at you. Just calmly tell her that you're worried about the status of your relationship. If she understands, she'll either stop...or find a way to make you feel better about it. If she doesn't, I can't see your relationship making it much further with out major isues. This would be a good time to ask her out if you're interested (which I assume you are considering if you weren't you could just as easily ignore the situation). Signs point to she likes you. Do you want to keep your friend or the girl? If the girl is really worth the risk, tell your friend that the competition is on, and then ask her out. If she says no, be ready to accept the fact that she could be with your friend. If she's not worth it, get over her quickly so it won't be awkward with your buddy.

I like this idea. It's actually quite facinating, even from a scientific standpoint. However, the fact that they could put anything they want into our head is kind of scary. So, for things like breast enlargement and hair growth...this concept gets a thumbsup. For use of brainwashing and psychological takeover (most likely a result from government abuse of such a power) this concept gets a thumbsdown.

I hate it when people idolize celebrities. So few of them deserve half the attention and affection they recieve. Honestly, celebrities are mostly made up of idiots, junkies, jerks, and sell outs. The idolization of such a despicable section of our species can't be healthy. Gossip and reality TV need to go away for the betterment of human kind. I'm sick of people being payed millions to make an [wagon] of themselves on TV "looking for love" or whatever bulls*** their trying to sell us.
