I'll take that into consideration when I actually start using abilities there. Ill mage over using drygores any day - 144m magic exp and counting. As for freedom: Given I lure the glacytes to a spot wherre I'm out of attack range of the glacor - I should never get icicled while the unstable explodes.
-
Yup - but then you get Jagex'd, prices crash and nobody buys your precious drygores at a sensible price. I don't mind that on a 10m piece of gear - but well.. drygores are a bit more then that.
-
Drygores are still more expensive then I'm willing to pay. As for void - That's great and all - but I don't have it, and you get hit alot more aswell. As i tend to suffer lagspikes from time to time - I'm not doing that. Guess I'll need to make more ovls - or at least extreme magics. So far my trips have improved to 15-20 kills, due to learning to dodge the icicle attack, and changing glacyte kill order (sapping - enduring - unstable), and perm using soulsplit (and soulsplit only). For now I'm slowing down on Glacors and chasing magic exp at daggs again - if I ever want to make the top 100. And what may cause rage: Both on my first and second day there I got steadfast boots drop.
-
As for luring the enduring away - how many squares are we talking? even at 6-7 squares it hardly noticed any difference. Me using deflect over ss for now is probably due to still falling for the icicle special attack - which can hit for a fair bit. I've never been one to keep fighting stuff from below half my own lifepoint - that should fix itself. As for abilities: Suggested set of abilities to be used there? I kept momentum up due to the prayer switching mage/range while learning - once i use soulsplit that should be solved so I can actually use abilities. Nothing with AOE i assume, as it'll mess up the kill order on the glacytes. Key in reversing the order is probably that the unstable one exploding helps kill the enduring?

Yesterday, I had my first go at Glacors. Killed about 60-70 of them, but I only managed to kill 7-8 a trip. That makes me think I do something wrong. My setup: Akrisaes, Arcane stream necklace, Chaotic staff, fire surges, vampyrism/penance aura, Vecna skull. 5-6 Prayer pots (4) + yak with sharks. Strategy: Attack Glacor, using deflect mage/ranged as required. When it gets half health, i kill the unstable first, then lure the enduring, and while hidden from the glacor deflect melee while i kill enduring and then sapping. Return to magic/ranged deflect to kill glacor. (all done with momentum on). Being a noob there I get hit with the special icicles attack fairly often (I'll learn in time :) ), but somewhere along the way something's not right I think, given I can only last 7-8 glacors before needing supplies (both prayer and food running out). What about this do I do wrong? I'm not one eager to spend an afwull lot on gear, but I have seasinger hood and robe bottoms (+ halfway to the robe top). Should that help significantly? Is there any way to speed up killing the enduring glacyte? That seems to be the most time-consuming bit, and due to enduring + sapping hitting me at the time I take a fair bit of damage (even with deflect melee on). Soulsplit during this period doesn't help - as I don't deal damage fast enough on the enduring glacyte to make up for the damage taken.

Instead of picking up charms to have the daggs cluster around me - I'll just pick up laws and natures now. (doing laws and crimsons now, around 600 laws/h)
-
As for dagganoths - exp rate is tied rather strictly to the amount of people online. Need a good amount of people on the world for top exp rates. With all them 2007scapers average population online/world took a hit, so did exp rates. 66m magic exp to go - this evolution does not please me.
-
Meh, could be perception but I'm using momentum while training magic and I noticed a DPS increase aswell. Even with a lousy master wand.

My POH hasn't changed a single bit since hitting 72 construction and building gilded altar. It's been 'dead' for years - it's just a prestige skill / money sink. It could have it's advantages in mutiple skills if it were to be exploited as a good training spot (combat in the dungeon, have a bank chest there and stuff like spining wheel, anvil, ...) but then again that'd be too easy for people to bot and go unnoticed. The greatest potential it could have is by far it's largest drawback too. As long as there's no foolproof bot detection in place - it'll remain 'dead'.

So, what is your current project(s)
vmser replied to sees_all1's topic in Programming and Web Design
Current project in VBA: Write a script that let's user input multiple file locations from the server (Word, Excel, PDF). Open those files from within VBA, give output to PDF-files From one of the documents, remove the last page Stitch the PDF's together as needed, save with the appropriate name Delete all temp files afterwards. Typically it's 1 excel-file, 2 word files, and 3 PDF's for which we need the location (though from the excel-file i need 5 different sheets). We used to just make a hardcopy - which got copied and sent out to contractors. To avoid scanning 300+ pages and having huge filesizes, this method allows us to easily create the PDF-files with limited filesize. Doing it all in Excel, with just selecting files and pushing a 'go' button lets even the less-computer-adept employees do the job easily. -
My point of view: Could see a fair point in using repair kits, but only for the UNTRADEABLE armor. Meaning you can fix it by using port resources rather then gp for repairs. As for the untradable armor repairs upon accidental wearing: Allow to repair them for 5% of its G.E. value if the decay < 1%. It limits losses, yet is too expensive for people to use it to keep armor repaired rather then buying new.

What he said. I'm not much of a PvP'er these days - but the risk element is there for a reason. The trouble is in the old days people who WANTED risk would go to the wildy, people who did not would steer clear; even when a few odd skill bits were dumped in the majority had a sense of honour which meant un-armed skillers were left alone whilst the fighting was focussed on other pkers. Now pking is all but dead and those there are take pleasure in attacking un-armed skillers who pose no challenge or threat to them simply to annoy them. I agree wildy should be dangerous, but it should not be an artificial danger created by forcing unarmed skillers in there for honourless trolls to slaughter; it should be by finding ways to actually get pking going again. The joy and honor of pking came from defeating an opponent who equally matched you in guts and risk. Killing un-armed skillers who mined rune rocks was only done by the desperate who were not strong enough to defeat even rune clad warriors, and made you as the killer look weak. There were gains from killing a skiller but was generally not worth it (5 rune rocks if that vs. all but the 3/4 best items as warrior had) other than to make you feel good when all you are is an ass. The wild should be dangerous and skillers should beware of danger but the pride and rewards from pking with honor is dead. Thus, content for skillers out the is almost dead. If a skiller goes out there, he/she should be killed by the desperate, not by the strong who can hold their own against the better. Nonsense. If it's in the wilderness - you can try and kill it for whatever loot that may be gotten. Plain and simple. There's nobody claiming you can't take armor with you if you go mining. Rune mining is still a fairly well-paying activity for those who venture there, with a junkload of worlds to hop (used to be different when I did it). In RSC (long time ago, I know) I mined rune while wearing full rune.. surprised many pker's by taking them out. If you find it annoying you die so easiliy, come prepared. Honor isn't worth anything in the game as it is today.

I hate it when stuff like that doesn't even show up in patch notes :(

Looking through old screenshots yesterday - turned out I killed him twice in RSC (around mage bank release). I'll not post the screenie though - seems rather inappropriate.

Also worth considering if you like blues - ranging wallasakis. Personally I'm getting crimsons off dagganoths (300/h) and making steel titan scrolls (profit while getting summon exp). It requires 99 summon to be able to profit though.

He didn't say it was all celibrities from back then. Just the ones he ran into and screenied. Then again, I haven't seen bluerose since like 2002. -
On top of that - Everdred was the first with 99 wc.

Managing Miscellania - 19M Profit - 1000 Bird's Nests Opened
vmser replied to StormCoreFilms's topic in RuneScape Media
18 months = roughly 540 days. At 75k a day (assuming 15 workers) you have spent: 40.5 million gp. Assuming you only count the 10 workers that gave you maple logs = 50k a day : 27 million gp invested. To figure out how much profit or loss you have had, you need to calculate TOTAL investment (as I did above) and total resale value (LOGS + NESTS + SEEDS). Doing kingdom properly should probably triple your value invested. As for doing just the logs (10 workers) that'd be 27 million turned into 81 million, or a profit of 54 million. I therefor have no idea why you're showing off with 17 million gp profit.- 12 replies

Lured hard. Dual Arena needs the abylity to see enemy invs.
vmser replied to My Name Changes's topic in Rants
To add constructive criticism: On the initial window there should be an option to allow to check inventories in a next screen, but only when selected to do so. For some fights (WITH gear) the element of surprise is half of the aspect of the battle. In that case, letting it go unseen should be an option. -
That doesn't sound like I should be muted for - given it's censored. I have the chat filter on purely to see what's filtered out. Based on the info you're giving here - that shouldn't have been a mute. Then again, I can only go by what your version of the story is. As for the rest of your rant: It's pretty much all pmods can actually do these days. And we do alot of it. Heck - I've had my muting powers locked due to muting too many in too little time - Jagex decided it'd be required to check my account safety.

From the screenshot, I assumed they keys got 'grouped' (bubbles on the left side of the map frame), which could either have related to gatestone locations or to players (by using same color for the circles as for the players in legend). If done like that - mouseover over dgsweeper marked keys could give the matching name of the player that has it gated. In essence - you replied to my question - with it being able to add both gatestones and keys to map - that should cover aswell. Thing is you can wonder what matters most - knowing who gated it, or where exactly the gatestone is at. Question wasn't aimed at the possibility of adding a gatestone AND a key to the same room on map.

Dark Lust doesn't nolife and in fact doesn't even really play RS anymore. She just bankstands now. And ya, I do plan on being first, even if I have to pull a 160h week. Considering that's never been done before, I'm not too worried about the competition. 160h week would be insane tbh. As for agility I gave up on day 4 I think when i was released.

Soo.. is the gatestone interface going to be at the same side as keys, or opposite? What you have now is aimed at keeping track of gatestone locations and 'attach' the gated keydoors to the gatestone location right? How does that affect the keys interface? select a key and either click a room on the map OR a gatestone, or can it be done with both?
