  1. For the past few days I showed 5 for me. That's not good though - if the scroll one doesnt appear in first 3 I'm most likely to toss my chances at it by doing a special that does show. So far I have done zero scroll voyages. You can click the button to see the next page of special missions Yea in hindsight I figured that out. :( Also: Does anyone else have a captain that's eagle eyed.. 3 times?

  3. Isn't it an option to disregard lower crews? For example I have a crew with 500 Seafaring and one with 250 Seafaring. Then it should ignore the lower one till its needed? Like a priority system? Problem with that is that to find the optimal combination you might just get lucky with the 250 seafaring one if it has a little combat ...
  4. I'd advise against that actually, I bought him and actually saw no appreciable decrease in voyage time compared to having my dwarf engineer. There's probably a speed cutoff that determines how much time you can cut from a voyage. Also when dealing with all the insane requirements at the moment, there's usually not much space to slot him in :P I get the feeling speed stat will have greater effect once you are travelling further. After all the rudder slot is there purely for speed with +1800 on the top level and jagex wiki talks about purple-hatted speed crew that we don't seem to of seen yet. Yea that's what I'm worried about aswell. The longer voyage duration is an issue for me on work days - shorter trips might mean the extra voyage a day.
  5. As for calcing optimum solutions with scripts - it's not all that easy. Assume the following: 5 boat part slots, consider the best option for seafaring/morale/combat on them only (= 3 options per slot) as speed is not a req => 3^5 combinations possible = 243 combinations. 4 captains to choose 1 from: 4 combinations 20 crew to select 5 from = 20! / 5! / (20-5)! = 15504 options So without adding bonus effects, just ship + crew selection gives you 15.069.888 options (=243 x 4 x 15504). For each of those calculations you need to - add up 3x12 values (for each of combat/morale and seafaring, and for 5 ship items + 6 crew + ship base stats) - calculate total bonus from crew special boosts (3 x 6 times to determine total multiplier) - apply multiplier (3x1 times) That's 57 calculations per option tested. For each of those combinations you need to check if it beats the best solution you had before - based on the requirements. To do so, you divide the total in each of the 3 stats by their requirements (check if not zero, divide, find the minimum % obtained on the requirements, compare to stored best solution. That's 4 more, totalling 61 calculations per option. 61 calcs/option x 15.069.888 options = 919.263.168 calculations to find the best setup. That seems an awful lot - but if coded efficiently it's doable. However, this only allows you to find the very highest option you can do for the requirements asked. Ideally, you'd use all 4 fields (including speed), so that if there's a combination that gives you 100% (and if so most likely there's multiple), the ideal solution is the one that has 100% succes but has the highest speed value and thus the shortest trip. Doing so would give 15504 x (4 x11 + 4x12 + 4x6 + 4 + 4) = 1.868.666.112 options. To make matters worse: The above doesn't even include using booster effects (from random events). If no solution reaches 100% it should output that available boosters could be appropriate to increase odds. The above math is still rather rought - Just wanted to show that it's easy to get huge amounts of calculations needed for a simple task. EDIT: Disregard the above numbers - its even worse. There's 5 captains (not 4) and mostly theres 25 crew rather then 20. The 15504 should be 53130 and the 5 for captains should be 4, so the number of calculations needed is roughly 4.28 times higher. If I feel like it I'll correct the above - but theres little point basically. For the last case it comes to around 8 billion calculations to find an optimum.
  6. I'm stocking up resources for the 800 (!) speed crewmember I can hire...

    A Quick Update

Any chance the hotstring could add a small memo next to the dgsweeper window as the current version does? By the time I get the herb, im often in doubt of seconds. Also, is it possible to make it so that 'agi' selects agility over magic?
  8. Used to be. Now the focus is more on doing them in c1 smalls, with a 5:5 team. It offers enough option to leave people 'doorstanding' for keydoors for which no key is found yet. Thus doors get pretty much insta-opened, ppl coming from the far end running to boss usually get to end about the time boss is done, or shortly after.
  9. Dunno how it works everywhere, but try ';' rather then ',' to seperate the arguments. In my version (dutch), the ',' is set for the decimal point and ';' as seperator. If you use '.' for the decimal point, then ',' is free to be used as seperator.
  10. First off: That'd lead to both huge safefiles and huge lag. What about places you can't reach anymore? (I.E. the black hole, revamped areas, ..)
  11. Use the gold shield key for it. There is NEVER a gold shield key in a map, so that one can be used. (theres 8 colors and 8 shapes, so could be 64 keys, given you start in a room you can only ever need to open 63 rooms so there could be an unused key, turns out it's gold shield that's never used)
  12. Can't have over 200m exp in one skill, so when done on one account continue on the next. Just like Jebrim now has 3 accounts with 200m agility exp.
  13. As for the rage vs Gemeos: Can't you just make a copy of the sheet and do with it as you please? Why rage at someone when you can do it yourself?
  14. At it's peak, my dungeon that last 26 minutes according to jagex timer (slow enough as it is) actually took 41 minutes in real life. So yeah, it was bad.
  15. Assuming 1/4 effigy steps gave him an average of 22500 exp , and at lvl 99 a dragonkin lamp is about 50000exp, he'd net 72500 exp usefull exp per effigy. Which mean he'd still need a whopping 2069 effigies to get that done.
  16. I'm actually sad to see random events go. Could have something like the fire spirits which optionally lets you get the random rather then forcing it down your throat, but can't say I'm excited about this change. I hated the gravedigger one, but hey, I just skipped that (just give up right away, be teleported somewhere random, see some of the world).
  17. Or have the drill instructor random event automatically give a good chunk of agility exp?
  18. Quick idea: How about having the ggs replace the location by default? At least in case of a no return, team can cover for the lost gate.
  19. There are steel dragons in brimhaven dungeon, more in the separate resource dungeon, in kuradals dungeon, and at ghorrock castle. That should be plenty. Red dragons I could understand, but if you venture into the wilderness, crowds are something you can solve there... :) As for the iron dragons/wild dogs: Live with it, it's the same for everyone. You rant about ppl taking 'your' dragons, while you've most likely done it the other way around yourself.
  20. Pot recipe for mining (and other related skills) lists woormwood, rather then wormwood.
  21. A 124 hour decrease in one week? Did you altar any of the exp rates, or are spins/effigies to blame for it?
  22. While his efforts to reach 5B total exp may have put real life 'on hold' for a bit, it might actually be a good thing to start thinking about where to go after. Best to plan that stuff ahead, I'd say. Also, the underlying reason might even be of a finacial nature. You know, a job and stuff. At his age the 'sacrifice' he made for his goal is far from being 'normal', i.e. having the financial means / time to do it.
