  1. You can't trade between them - but my alt got a fish mask from sof during his membership trial, which is by now turned into approx 60 million gp. If I ever want a fresh start, that'll help out massively. If you enjoy merchanting - the extra account with extra G.E. slots allows you to play on more variated markets. Indeed you can't use minigames, but people have been known to DG with a low lvl alt in team to decrease difficulty. Not something I would suggest - for obvious reason it's not allowed. However, you CAN use it as a scout if you hop between the accounts and don't have them logged on at once. Heck, even in RSC - if you'd kill Raidergod, all of a sudden Raidergod2 appeared in the same spot... Because the longer it takes to achieve it, the more people will beat you to it, making a 'huge achievement' turn into to 'meh, another one with 2 comp accs'. 2014 was just a number pulled from... well, you know where.
  2. Hmm, let's see: - 4 extra G.E. slots and lots more items to merch - More daily spins (if you care for those) - Half a zillion 'fast levels' to be gotten - for a change of pace from a (near) maxed account - Have a 'scout' account for certain wildy activities - If your clan is building up citadel - faster resources due to extra account - Bragging rights for having 2 comp accounts (but I assume that requires you to finish it before 2014) All things considered - not too much advantages there.
  3. Glad i rushed to finish magic :)
  4. As long as they keep the guy in pet shops that buys any amount of shards at 25gp each, they will not go lower than 25gp each. Yea I was sort of implying they'd have to give up that fixed price link Also, to clarify how it might be an interesting approach: If they were no longer insta-buyable to infinity (and beyond) - and given theres a 10k/4h ge limit - prices may actually go around the other way (i.e. up).
  5. Cost per exp seems around the same? With rune 2handers or rune legs - 13k cost to buy bars, thus 39k to make one - alches at 38.4k (so say 38.3 to cover for nat). 700 GP spent for 225 experience, or roughly 3 GP/exp. Assuming sales to alchers, make that perhaps 4 gp/exp. That's the low end of the summoning cost range... Goldsmithing gauntlets for gold would be roughly 5-6 gp/exp. I could imagine artisans workshop burning through cash, but contrary to summoning there's lower cost (though slower) alternatives available.
  6. Such a horrible idea... Why? Seems like a very typical comment from someone with 99 summoning. Heck - I'm 99 myself yet I find the shards to be too much of a money sink which leads to charms stockpiled in bank rather then used for exp. As it stands, summoning is a rather pricy skill to work on, thus the ones bothering to stick with it past 99 tend to be the very rich (from merching or pvm). Creating some would just be a means of avoiding having to use one of the previously mentioned methods to reach the same goal. Just like mining your own ores can help you smith - but it's still easier to just buy a bulkload of ores with money made otherwise. The issue I was trying to bring up is that - despite jagex seemingly have to fix shard value at 25ea as a 'patch' for the GP limit at 2.1b coins - this shard influx could potentially make the summoning skill more widely accesible if the shard influx would allow shard prices to come down a bit. The store price would remain at 25 - so no chances of prices going up beyond that price. That said - it of course raises the argument of 'devaluating' the already earned experience (heck - 40m exp for me) - but that's the way the game is evolving already. The bigger issue is however the overly rich that have huge stockpiles of shards as backup for their cash, which could start complaining alot - because a drop from 25 to 20 gp a shard could mean a loss of 20% of their wealth. It COULD however result into an interesting turn on the rares market. Either way - the cash limit being at 2.1b does make sense in a way. If there's too much cash - get resources instead. Resources are subject to price fluctations - and thus an investment risk - but gathering supplies towards maxing out exp is far more towards an 'endgame' approach then just complaining about not having an inflation-proof method of keeping your geepees. The above doesn't imply I'd be all out in favor of the idea. It'd just be an interesting concept to watch evolve - or just to discuss the possibility of it happening.
  7. Assuming this is a gathering thing - would it perhaps lead to gathering spirit shards rather then having to buy them? If so - could the fixed value for shards be lost, thus rendering summoning cheaper?
  8. That's the catch - the discussion could be mature, the initial statement was rather.. childish. The lack of any actual facts on the ethnicity of jagex staff makes this no more then a wild guess, which hardly puts you in a position to make accusations of any sorts towards jagex on their hiring policy. Lashing out at an admin - even beyond the scope of the discussion of locking it or not - was a low blow, and was uncalled for. That said - Mercifull makes a really valid point on the census data. If jagex staff is to be mirrored by anything, it'd be UK population over a representation of it's player base. Also - it's an employers choice who they want to hire. If they insist on hiring 'local' people that are less skilled then a candidate from a different ethnicity - and thus being less cost-efficient tot the company - that's their own call to make. And not to forget, at my own job I've seen people apply with far higher qualifications then I did, but that didn't get hired due to my boss thinking they wouldn't 'fit' within the team. Just for reference - Had the post been asking if anyone had any data on the ethnicity of jagex staff members, rather then starting out for blaming them being 'white', that'd have been an entirely different approach to the discussion. There's plenty criticism towards jagex on this board (alot regarding ivp, mtx, sof, ..) so I fail to see your point there.
  9. Given it was the first time I saw that many at once - i decided to go with the trade. (was 12th to 99 magic in RSC - peaked at rank 11 with 14.3m magic exp in rsc) Willing to bet bluerose had tons more though - I recall her charging 3k nats to smith a rune square - and you even needed to supply the rune bars yourself.
  10. The era were law runes where that valuable, is perhaps around the time people were reaching 99 smithing. I remember selling 2 rune battle axes for 7k laws - but that valued them at around 500ea at the time. The 7k laws were turned into nats by telegrabbing them at the island south of greater demons (go figure) but it eventually set me on the path to 99 magic.
  11. As for the diamonds - in case they follow the logic that theyd appear as normal gems would - concentrated deposits should be a no-go.
  12. I should check - think I have acces and haven't done the quest. Feel free to PM me about this.
  13. Id have to agree with chen myself. The master wand is cheap enough - accuracy is good enough for dagganoths, so why overpay? Personally I use master wand and grifolic orb, and it got me 140m magic exp so far.... All the high profile magers i've seen there camping for exp are using wand + book.
  14. Those who do LRC but can't do gold. So yea, at LRC. Opinion on the topic: <3 them. Less items on floor = less clutter to render = smoother running game.
  15. Yay, finally max cape clipping has been solved. I reported that one months ago (akrisaes and max cape clipping)
  16. Awesome. Now if only you could make it in PHP or so - where you can lookup the timetable for any given name, or have a top 20 list compiled automatically. It'd save you sooo much hassle after. All you'd have to do is adjust xp rates as needed in a source file. Maybe - just maybe, once I get this darned thesis paper written - I'll look into how I could code that.
  17. Could be wrong here - but isn't orb of occulus disabled for now in beta? Also - some guy once claimed to know the exact number of DG layouts and spoke of plans to increase them. No idea what's true about it - but if it's relevant to anyone I may have typed those in my notes...
  18. Either this is because it's monday morning - but you lost me here. We are comparing the crit hits of same tier weaponry. They are close, but not exact. Does this not imply that the faster weapon is the better choice? Given a same crit hit, the dps should be higher on the faster weapon?
  19. I'll gladly give it a read if you want. I'm probably #1 pretend-noob. (also, don't let my DG lvl fool you).
  20. So basically you're coding something which will let you look into what everyone is flipping so you know what to flip yourself? :D
  21. It's a common term for 'a sleeveless shirt'. The name was opposed at the time - but he got to stick with it.
  22. Talk about old names. Somehow I'm shocked I'm not in the 100+ list - either its from way before rs2, or it's incomplete. I got 99 magic way before some of the listed mages in there, then again I didn't start really working on combat until after: (that same weekend I powered onwards to 99 magic and - as the page where I got the pic from reminds me - rank 11 magic. Top of my head I was never better that 12th :o) EDIT: The image was uploaded April 14th 2003.
  23. My glacor count so far: 10 shards 2 pairs of steadfasts Guess glacors are heavily luck-dependant, not the option you want for realiability.
  24. Instead of picking up charms to have the daggs cluster around me - I'll just pick up laws and natures now. (doing laws and crimsons now, around 600 laws/h) Why would you bother picking up 50k worth of loot per hour? Not for the loot - but the movement makes dagganoths cluster rather then line up. I used to do that picking charms - now i do so with runes. It's not for the value - which isn' all that great for the effort taken - but 600 laws is 120k/h which is a nice bonus to help pay for the bloods, and it does help my efficiency around there.
  25. Crap. Need that last bit of the rocktail soup scrimshaw asap then.
