Where does it say in the bible to treat women badly? JW I know it doesn't directly instruct people to treat them badly, but come on.. have you even read the bible?

We don't get morals from the bible. Unless you treat women badly etc, you have your own set of morals based on today's society.

Cologne
Here's what you do: Go to a shopping center, (or mall as you americans call it) go to a place that sells cologne (and lets you sample it) and spray a different type on each wrist. Walk around with a pen and ask the opinions of random girls, if they have a guy with them ask him too. Make a tally on each wrist, and you can meet lots of people this way. If you want you can even have a story for it. Something like, "I got a lot of cologne for my birthday and I'm trying to find the best one" would work.

PMods - Purpose or Status?
Ah, more assumptions. Ok, I don't report, or ask anyone to stop something that I do myself in game. Runescape does have a client, when we load the applet from the runescape server, the applet runs the client saved on our computer. (which we download when we update runescape) The client is quite easily taken from the server, deobfuscated and edited. How do you think macro software is made? Editing the client to read a script and send the right packets... My point was that when a pmod asks a spammer to stop in a clan chat, it is no more "power hungry" or whatever you want to call it, than if a general kicked that person. See, I'm just a regular player. I don't have to do anything that other players don't have to do. I don't have to answer questions, I don't have to talk in public, I don't have to report people, and I don't have to play. I answer questions because I am willing to, because I did it before I was a player mod. However since I get pm's constantly from random people asking for help with quests, and at the same time questions about how I got my crown in the public chat after I told somebody not talking doesn't mean macroing, then at the same time I am talking to a bunch of friends in the clan chat, while getting constant questions from other people in the clan chat, sometimes I just like to turn chat off and play the game. I don't think I'm a god, I don't see myself as better because of a crown, and I don't care that you seem to feel that way. You haven't talked to me in game, and you have no idea what I'm like. I'd appreciate it if you stopped making assumptions you have no idea about. I'm just a mature player that helps people in the game, who knows what the rules are. Crown or no crown. No, it's common sense. Anyway here is the bottom line: It's jagex that has to sift through all the reports, it's jagex's game you play, so it's jagex that gets to decide if and who they want to prioritize when it comes to reporting. Follow the rules on the main website and you won't have any issues. If somebody get's punished for the wrong reason, that's an issue with customer support not the rules.

Training spot for rune pure
I have 40 defense, 60 attack, 84 strength, 80 hp, 1 prayer and I'm p2p. Does anyone have any good training ideas? Flesh crawlers are too slow, ankou hit too much and experiments are a no go because I'm 1 prayer. I'm really just after experience, so slayer doesn't really work. I've heard soul wars is ok, but is it worth having to play extra to get the hp experience to even it out?

The Contemporary Spellbook
I have an addition to this suggestion, this suggestion will also make it easy to split the update between f2p and p2p. I've got the idea in my head but I'm basically thinking as I type so it might look like a mess at the end. Make these a new 'branch' of magic, unlockable at maybe 50 magic with a quest. Maybe call it (somethingtodowithmagic) arts, focusing on the theme of the old style magic being based on using the raw power stored in runes. The new branch of magic will be a higher form of magic, more of an art rather than raw power. Instead of using runes, it uses mana which is based off the player's magic level, and it does not give magic experience. Each spell has a level, and a master. The spell at level 1 can be unlocked by doing a mini quest for the master. Progressing through the levels requires a certain amount of casts and magic levels. Say if spell x level 1 is casted y times and the player has level z magic, the player can talk to the master and be taught something new about the spell, making it more powerful. For damage spells 50 is level 1, 62 is level 2, 77 is level 3, 92 is level 4 and 99 is level 5. f2p can only use level 1-3 or 4 I know jagex has a goal of level 99 unlocking something for every skill, so the skill doesn't "end" at lower levels. Then you have things like teleporting and defensive spells which have different level requirements. This way, f2p can be able to use up to a particular level, and p2p can get higher levels. Mana regenerates slowly, or can be replenished by potions. Perhaps fire spells do damage and reduce armor, wind spells do damage and reduce accuracy etc Some/all spells need to be charged before they can be used which takes time and heavily reduces defense while charging. Spells may be charged in combat but it takes more time, and the player is vulnerable. Only a certain amount of spells can be charged at once, and this can be increased by a spell charge master. I like the idea of a focus on protection spells. The user being able to instantly teleport a distance away, or knock back an opponent with a small amount of damage. Magic users shouldn't have any real armor, but should be able to use magic to defend themselves.

PMods - Purpose or Status?
Thank you for proving why it isn't worth debating with you. I had the same thought, but I'm home sick and have nothing better to do. I act differently in the game yes, so do most people. The real world isn't so censored. I'm sure there are many people who swear etc outside of runescape but don't in game. Client side is the client... If it is done server side it will lag, if it is done client side it can be edited out. I did assume you have no programming experience, and I still do think that. I'm just not here to argue "no you don't" "yes i do" all day so I dropped it because I really don't care. Generals do not own the clan chat, they are trusted "ambassadors" chosen by the owner if I may. Much like the way pmods are chosen by jagex. I don't feel the need to broadcast that I am a mod, most of the time I just talk in my regular clan chats and not in public. I'm friends with most of the regulars and they already know I a mod, because I tend to talk to friends... I don't know about you, but I'd prefer not to be asked questions about player mods all day. As for priority reports, I think jagex would have a much better idea about who "does so well" than you do. The option to report is not a service to customers, and it does not matter whether it is answered in a few hours or a few days. No you may not see the guidelines, Jagex does not want them out in the public. The reason why is because people can use the guidelines to break rules without being punished.

PMods - Purpose or Status?
I act differently in the game, seeing as tip it is slightly more relaxed than runescape. As for the auto reporting system, until the current censor has it's bugs smoothed out, there is no point in starting another project when the current one doesn't work properly. I've said this twice, I'm not going to say it again. You still haven't addressed the clients that will undoubtedly be made with the auto reporting taken out. You didn't really answer the question, but I am assuming you wouldn't go off at the general for kicking the spammer. Why go off at me and not the general? You also fail to acknowledge the fact that not everybody shares your opinions, especially regarding asking people to stop swearing. Firstly, I have never had anybody complain when I asked somebody to stop swearing - quite the opposite. I tend to get thanked for it. Secondly, most people will agree I am doing them a favor by asking them to stop rather than just report. (and sometimes mute) I know I would appreciate a warning before getting black marks. Thirdly, you keep ignoring the fact that if people want to cuss at each other, they have the pm system. If you pay or not, you still get to report. I guess that voids your argument then. It's a shame that a lot of people (both p2p and f2p) seem to just report for no reason. It shows down the already poor customer support. Here's an idea, what about if jagex looks for mature players in game, who report for the right reasons? They could call them "player moderators" and make their reports priority, because they have proven themselves to be mature and to report properly. Oh wait... See, whether the player you reported get's punished in a few hours or a couple days doesn't really matter. It doesn't even matter for player mods. The reason why we do get priority reports, is to make things a little more efficient. I barely reported anybody before I got player mod, I only ever reported if I really thought it was disrupting the game. Phishing site advertisers, people evading the sensor etc. I probably report people a little more often now, but that is because I chat in clan chats so I am constantly in a popular area. Before I got invited, all I really did was be mature, help people and report occasionally. (maybe twice a week depending on whether I was in populated areas or not) Oh yeah, about your human judgment issues: Mods have a very detailed reporting guideline to follow, if we don't follow this guideline closely we get told off and possibly demodded. There goes that idea. If I don't post anything after your illogical reply it probably means I got tired of repeating myself, which is what I seem to be doing.

Why private servers?
The point of private servers is so people can make lots of ad money from morons who think they aren't crap with java.

PMods - Purpose or Status?
More assumptions... Which is fine, except your assumptions are completely wrong, which makes you a presumptuous [rooster]. They have no right to disrupt the game for anybody else, and are more than welcome to use the pm system. If a regular player asked them to stop, is that regular sticking their nose in the other person's business? No, you are just like every other 15 year old that has a problem with player mods for no reason. If people are starting to cuss, and I ask them to stop because I don't want them to cuss, it isn't assuming anything. If somebody types in a clan chat: asf sadf sadf sadf sadfsda fsad fsdafsadf for 5 minutes, they need to accept that people people are going to notice "their business." When this happens, the clan chat ask me to 'deal with it,' and are happy when I do. If you aren't in that clan chat, it doesn't concern you and your opinion isn't needed on the matter. Answer this: Have you ever been in a clan chat that is being spammed, and a general kicked the spammer? If so did you tell the general he was sticking his nose in the spammer's business? If jagex did that, their customer support would be even worse than it is now. Why must you make so many stupid assumptions? When I talk to them, the only difference I can notice between them and regular players is their maturity, and that would be a good difference. No power waving, no elitism, no nothing. You obviously have not talked with enough player mods to have an idea of what they are like in game. You just haven't, so stop pretending you know what you are talking about. Auto-reporting wouldn't work. Ask anybody who knows anything about programming. Hell, don't take anybodies word for it - learn some programming yourself and you will realize. Unless you go learn how to program and can logically prove me wrong, drop it. Yeah, THAT wouldn't be abused.. There would be clients popping up everywhere with the auto reporting system removed and no way to stop it. The sensor isn't abused in that way because it only stops what the player sees, so if somebody edited the client and removed the sensor and then swore, it would be censored to everybody else.

PMods - Purpose or Status?
Are you [developmentally delayed]ed? They still live with their parents and their favourite food is probably tattoo bubble gum, i don't care about their 'business'. If an argument is clearly disrupting people around them, and is starting to get offensive, ofc I will use my status to calm it down. Way to pull assumptions out of your [wagon]. The owner was not in there, and there were no generals. (in fact it is a popular chat, and neither the owner or the generals are in there much) Congratulations once again on making assumptions that you really have no real idea about. What does paying a fee have to do with voluntarily helping out the game? I was a player mod when I was f2p, before I paid anything. You really do have no idea do you? I talk with 15+ different player mods every day, (if you aren't good at math, that adds up to a lot) I rarely see one that doesn't deserve it - and I know those that don't, don't last long. A lot of them don't talk in public so you probably run into player mods more than you think and don't even realize it. I've ignored the remarks about an auto reporting system as you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. The censor is still bad after 8 years and you want Jagex to make an auto reporting system? I suddenly realize a reply wasn't even necessary. Oh and it would lag too much anyway having to sift through every thing everybody says. The sensor doesn't lag because it is client side, an auto reporter won't be.

PMods - Purpose or Status?
Of course it is a status, but it's a status with a purpose. If I see people having an argument that looks like it is about to get offensive, all I have to say is *cough* They see the crown, apologize and then usually ask me a couple questions. Tension is gone, and they both have their questions answered. Somebody tried to do a trust trade scam on me, then freaked out when he found out I was a mod. I explained why scamming is wrong, he said he got scammed. I asked him how he felt, and why he would want to put other people through the same thing. He really seemed to see the error of his ways, I gave him a couple moneymaking tips and everybody is happy. Somebody starts spamming in the cc that I regularly go on, I say "player, that's enough." They apologize and stop 90% of the time. If I see somebody auto advertising a phishing website, I can mute them which will reduce the amount of passwords they get. Jagex also has to sift through a lot of reports. If they have a group of players who know how and what to report effectively, they prioritize those reports and make things easier. I'm not saying all player mods should have been given their position, and none of us are perfect, but you can't say it doesn't improve the game.

Military, anyone?
I'm in the middle of joining the aussie navy as an avionics technician. I have a lot of reasons for it. I like the idea of the discipline, the fitness, the respect for the job and training etc. Everybody I have talked to in the military absolutely love their job. I never liked the idea of uni, and in the same time it takes somebody to finish a degree I will have at least 1 degree, plus I will be earning between 65 and 100k+ a year. (Depending on how far up I get promoted, and whether I choose to work in the submarines) The money isn't the most important thing but it's a nice bonus. When I get out, employers tend to like the experience, training and discipline that I will have. I can continue with avionics, but I will also be a shoe in the police force (or surf life saver, I haven't decided.) Plus I have never liked the idea of working for somebody else to get rich, I would prefer to help people in a job that requires good health and fitness. (hence the police or surf lifesaver idea.) The only issue is that the australian forces are well known for drinking, (my friend is a sapper and says they all get drunk every night and it isn't a problem as long as they are half sober the next day to work) and I am already borderline alcoholic :wall: Any tips on surviving boot camp, or things I can expect?

Rate my pc build, etc
I've built computers before and I would build this one except it's for my mum and brother, and I'm moving out of the state for a job. That way, my mum can [bleep] at msy instead of me if something goes wrong a year down the road. It won't be practical for me to figure out which part needs replacing over the phone. Better PSUs pay for themselves in electricity consumption, + are less likely to [bleep]e and damage other parts. I know 2 smaller hard drives are much more expensive, but I'm keeping 1 for software and the other for files. That way the one with software can be formatted if one of them messes it up, and they won't lose all their movies, music etc or have to back it up on 20+ DVDs. (Partitions are too complicated for my brother and I'm trying to keep it as idiot proof as possible) depresins I'm getting it from msy, what changes do you suggest? The extra cost of the HDDs etc aren't too big of a deal because the government will pay for half the computer. I'm just trying to get it reasonably cost efficient, and to hopefully last the 6 years I'll be gone.

Any Computer Programmers?
I'm competent with delphi, and half decent with java. I would say start with delphi, it's a good language and easy to learn. (I posted a beginners tutorial here back in the day, I could dig it up for you if you want.) VB is also an easy language to start with, however I personally don't like it. Then maybe move on to java. Java is somewhat limited when it comes to applets interacting with the computer it is running on, but it is still powerful and cross platform.

Drivers permit
Having to change gears is no more difficult than not having to, it's just different. I don't think everyone with a manual car does that, but I have noticed the majority of those with the "manual cars are manly, auto cars are for women and bad drivers" mentality seem to.
