So supposedly Player Mods have to report federal crimes?
diib replied to XxTearGodxX's topic in General Discussion
What the .... ? This guy is a criminal. He steals the other person's bandwidth, for which the other person has payed with hard-earned money. That the stolen goods are insufficiently secured to prevent a thief from stealing them is never an excuse. Judge : Why did you steal this guy's television? Accused : He forgot to lock his door! It's all his fault! I'm as innocent as a cute little puppy! See how ridiculous this is? The moderator did nothing but his duty as a good, moral and responsible person. Note : Of course I recognize the importance of securing wireless connections. It's just that the failure to do so does not excuse the people trying to steal other people's bandwidth. -
As much as I'd like to see mammoths, I think that, when they say "the islands beyond" , they mean Lunar isle, neitiznot, jatiszo, miscellania and etceteria.

The 'new' Slayer Masters discussion(from new quest)[spoiler]
diib replied to king_muumuu's topic in General Discussion
They are indeed slightly different in appearance. Let's see if I can make spoiler tags ... [hide=spoiler]The slayer master in Shilo Village is replaced by a "disciple of the devourer" whose facial tatoos are green (and not red). Turael should have been replaced by his daughter, though I haven't visited burthorpe yet.[/hide] -
I have the same problem ... Maybe we should find a disguise or a key?

This is not an examine, it's one of the things that an obsidian golem can say: "Tztok-jad shall quake in his slippers!"

I strongly agree with this. True, mages should win against melee fighters, but too many people make it seem as if the only way to do that is to create new spells with a much higher max hit. The other, and imho much better option , is to give the mages more tactical spells. I imagine spells that summon defensive barriers, spells that turn super defense potions into more effective extra strong defense potions, concealment spells that let you hide effectively, ... Disclaimer : I am not a PKer and I do not have much knowledge on the relative strength of mage vs. melee in pvp combat. I am not claiming that magic is either over- or underpowered.

Now if you happen to be growing papaya trees in Lletya (the small Elven town), you can always grab some quick hunting xp when you go there, but it is useless for extended training.

To those who think "nerd" is an insult : what are you doing using a computer? Computers were invented by nerds. The internet was invented by nerds. The very concept of transmitting information with electromagnetic signals was invented by nerds. Stop using "nerd" as an insult. You would still be in the middle ages without them.

Hi, I was crafting earth runes. I was inside the earth altar when the game suddenly lagged, and the connection broke. When I logged in again, I found myself in the runecrafting guild. How did I get there? Is there a random event that teleports you to the runecrafting guild?

You're 19. You're an adult. What you do is up to you to decide. Do not let other people's perceptions and/or prejudices ("it's a kids game") cloud your judgment. You enjoy it ("Technically, it's not even 'fun', but I enjoy it"), and that is the point. Some people collect post stamps because they enjoy it. Others watch sports on television. Still others do various sports. Some play runescape. The justification for all these activities is always the same : they enjoy it. Keep enjoying yourself. Have fun. diib.

If you don't care who gets your wealth, you could just do some "bad trades" on the grand exchange : buy something for the maximal price, then sell it again for the minimal price. Repeat untill you have no money left. This has the advantage of being legal ;)

One of the god spells in normal magic lowers the target's magic level.

Also, no crystal bows.

This is the solution: x = (-7*W(300/7*ln(2)*2^(4/7*y))+4*y*ln(2))/ln(2) where W is the Lambert W function. that's it.
-
y = (x+300*2^(x/7))/4 To find x explicitly, you need the Lambert W function ( see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambert%27s_W_function ) when y = x exp(x) then x = W(y) Your problem is an instance of the general equation p^(a*x+B) = c*x+d Specificaly: y = (x+300*2^(x/7))/4 y = x/4+75*2^(x/7) y/75 - x/300 = 2^(x/7) thus c=-1/300 , d=y/75 , b=0 , a=1/7 , p=2 The wiki page I linked to above describes how to solve this kind of equation, the solution to your problem is x = (-7*W(300/7*ln(2)*2^(4/7*y))+4*y*ln(2))/ln(2) Unfortunately, Microsoft Excel does not contain an implementation of the Lambert W function. You can, however, approximate it to arbitrary accuracy using the Taylor series, also described in the wikipedia article I linked to.

I show my support for tip.it! You show your support for tip.it! You're supporting tip.it! And indeed, this was one of the best RS forums. I hope it becomes as good as it used to be, or even better!

I did it with a potion. Do bring multiple 4-dose potions. And expect to fail the obstacles often. Remember the obstacles can poison you, so bring some antipoison potions. And food.

I imagine F2Pers will be able to sell iron ores and raw chickens to P2Pers, just like they do with yew logs (and like they used to do with rune essennce : ). The iron mining business might become profitable once again.
-
Yes but way not so much effective i think.. whatever i suggest to combo it with slayer... True. But it would be cool. Imagine a lvl 11 or 12 with 1 att, 1 str , 1 def and 99 summoning who attacks his enemies with pack yaks (lvl 109) !

No, you can have your summons fight for you to obtain the charms.

5 ranarrs = 5*7000 = 35000 gp. cost = 1 pouch for maccaw + 3 pouches for 30 scrolls = 4 pouches. 4 pouches = 4*78 shards = 4*78*25 gp = 7800 gp. Let's round that up to 10k because of the time to collect the guams and charms. Thus 35k gp - 10k gp = 25k gp pure profit! :D I can't summon maccaws myself yet, so if this is completely wrong, you can say so without being all condescending or insulting.

What's wrong with buying skills? It's not like their money appeared out of thin air +1 Well, to some people, it did. (party hats and such). And heed my words, in a few weeks/months, there will be player-made guides on forums like this, pointing out plenty of effective uses of summonning. The complainers just haven't found these uses yet (and neither have I, I hasten to add). And remember, it appears the point is to use the pouches, not to sell them.

By killing jungle spiders on Karamja. You might meet some in the tai bo wannai minigame, or in the large vine.
-
It will get more uses, like agility did. Just wait a while.

Runescape becoming too complicated for new players?
diib replied to runevirage's topic in General Discussion
I am under the impression that most people who posted in this thread did not read the first post. You can hardly deny that, say, the death system , the trade system , and PKing , have become more complicated. People argue that the decrease of the amount of mouseclicks needed to perform tasks has made these tasks less complicated. I would advise these people to look up the definition of "complicated". Repetitiveness and complicatedness are pretty much upposites. Doing the same task ten times is less complicated than doing two (or three, or four) different tasks one time.
