Strip Searching A Thirteen Year Old
Well, it's good and bad (probably not the best adjectives though); http://www.aclu.org/drugpolicy/search/3 ... 80303.html (source). OK: `The school holds a ZERO-TOLERANCE no drugs program, and the girl had been there for 3 years I assume. `Why did girl A have the drugs alone but no container? Advil would make sense, but not perscription strength drugs. More detail would be nice, but that's the vibe I got. `Apparently that school has the right to do that in their code of conduct, even though it had been highly advised not to do from others. `The search was conducted by a school nurse (presumably female), and was 1 on 1. `The girl was willing, to prove herself innocent, but it was "the most humiliating experience I've ever had." NOT OK: `Those friggin' moralists (to an extant). `Parents were NOT notified prior. `No detective work was done prior. `Apparently the girl had a good record. Also not that the girl did not take her underwear OFF. She took her bra off (which is fine, I say (not in a perverted way (in this case (I'm 14)))), but was only exposed to pull her undies out, like in the weight loss commercials. Still, the school overreacted, and they should have called the parents. But everyone else is overreacting too.

The Running Thread
I'm doing spring track to get in shape for soccer. Distance. pretty much avg. 5 miles a day, 6+ on Saturdays. I like it - but I hate meets. I can't keep a fast enough pace long enough. But during practices I'm the one who runs most and fastest :wall: Anyway, My best mile is only 6:13, and my 800 (set it today) is 2:44:9. Not great, but I don't entirely mind too much, as long as I improve. Only a few meets left though. And the over-me-classmen (I'm a freshman) all know me as well. Apparently I look like some guy, last name Rooney, who did track before... but he was really bad ("if they add the first name, you're f***ed" said the one who started it). And I'm the kid who stiffarmed another to beat him (I lost a second... and lost). Instincts. I'll probably do winter next year, and maybe Cross-Country if I don't make the soccer team (and don't commit suicide) PS. Our captain is a god. He's faster than the sprinters and does distance. He's endorsed by Puma. I think he has a 3 summit min. mile.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
If you expecting XII to be as good as the others, you're likely to be disappointed, the combat system isn't all that good. The only other I've played is VI. I've been playing XII, and I don't mind the combat as much. I like the proportionate landscape, and the combat system works well enough for me. It looks to be essentially the same thing, only turn-based realtime rather than turn-based random encounter.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
I was going to buy Psychonauts because I discovered that it wasn't Xbox exclusive (and nopunctuation told me to), but it turns out it's only in another town that's about 30? minutes away. And I don't feel like going to pick up an $8 game. So instead I'm going to buy Final Fantasy XII, later today (I might get the Limited edition, I saw it at GameStop).

Live Concerts
Just returned from The Machine (Pink Floyd tribute). Awesome. Sounded like Pink Floyd with a few different solos and additions to make it unique, a good-enough light show, and a pretty good view. Cons included a bunch of ladies, who took some guys seats halfway thru the show, in front of us (me and dad) who kept using flash photograph  They also got drunk and were being generally annoying - I may have slipped the finger into a few of their pictures... (I was really tempted, I'm not sure if I got it) They also spoke like stereotypical women from the Bronx or so. Got some good pics (on my phone), and a video - but said ladies voices overpowered the band (I also started to sing... badly...). I'll probably delete the video. I love music \

Musicals.
My friend is making me see her theater group musical, so that's where I'll be Friday (or Saturday). The school theater also has one coming up, and I'll get extra credit for going... so I might as well. I don't mind musicals, but it depends on the songs. A well-done adaptation of The Wall or Scenes From A Memory would be nice =P~

Mother gives birth to a baby with Anencephaly.
It's easy enough to say kill it, but it is the mother's child, and she undoubtedly has an unnaturally powerful bond with it. The baby will die. Inevitably. It can't feed itself, it has no senses, it won't be able to grow, and anything requiring any thought at all, or anything covered in the brain will be impossible. Let the mother do what she wants. PS. The Wiki picture reminded me of E.T.

FC'd What I've Done by Linkin Park. I hate the song, but it was so easy... I couldn't resist the shiny gold stars.

Time Travel, Possible or Not?
Ah, I forgot about the theory of relativity. I can't explain it well, but it does state that the faster you go towards the speed of light, then time slows down for you. That explains some rays of light that should die in immeasurably short amounts of time, but still manage to make it to the earth. Wormholes don't travel through time, they just act as shortcuts. Think of it as a tunnel through a mountain. If travelling close to the speed of light slows time down, couldn't travelling past it possibly send you backwards in time? Reminds me of what we're doing in math... (y = x/z). Maybe there is something that travels faster than light, but since it is always going backwards it's impossible to measure or notice :-k

Time Travel, Possible or Not?
When I edit my posts, does that count as travelling backwards through time and altering history? That would freeze you, I'm pretty sure. Molecular movement is what creates heat - faster is hotter, colder is slower. However, we could always try Suspended Animation (bolded for dramatic effect). In biology just yesterday we learned about this type of frog that freezes it's insides when it touches ice; it curls up into a sort of torpedo shape, fills it's insides with water and freezes them. I'm not sure how it works, and there's plenty of problems I can think of - Frostbite, cutting of organs and such, and failure to wake up. The frog melts inside out. It's pretty interesting, and I'm not sure if the frog ages or not when it's frozen. PS. I just remembered seeing on TV once that after a certain point, the gene for aging stops working, and that if it were harvested people could live indefinitely (it stops working very old). That could sorta work as future travel?

How could life be better?
Forgot to mention that - that works just as well/better.

0.999...=1 and why people believe it is false.
No. Your math teacher doesn't understand math very well, and that's why he's teaching high school instead of getting his PhD. Care to explain why he's wrong, ye mighty mathematical genius?

How could life be better?
If life was perfect, we wouldn't appreciate good things when they came around. Everything would be taken for granted, and we'd just want more. Human nature. But, life would be better if I was less unlucky. Every time I have something important, something really damn unlucky comes along and ruins it for me
-
0.999...=1 and why people believe it is false.
I showed this to my math teacher, specifically the second point. x = .999... 10x = 9.999... 10x - x = 9.999... - 999... 9x = 9 x = 1 He looked at it for a bit, and found an error in 9x = 9. Since x (at least at that moment) is not equal to one, .999... x 9 isn't equal to 9. So I guess there's something impossible that happens?
-
0.999...=1 and why people believe it is false.
I believe graphing y = 1/x+4 will give you an example of such. x =/= -4, so it is able to get to any number as close as possible, without ever actually touching the -4 line. Putting in -4 will divide by zero - impossible. But doing -3.99999... will not destroy the equation. That was probably explained terribly. But I hope you got my message overall. ALSO: .9999... / 3 = .3333.... 1 / 3 = .3333... + .0000....1 The latter is impossible, so I assume for the sake of easyness we just round to .3333.... Or just use fractions.

Live Concerts
YES. NOW I CANNOT WAIT. Doubt I'll crowd-surf anyways cuz I'm with my Dad (and I don't feel like losing my phone or shoes)

how long?
I don't understand your question.

Guy/girl for a day?
Here's the next best thing. Get some white paint from your local hardware store along with a brush. Lightly paint a wall with the paint. Pull up a chair and watch the paint for several hours. Make sure to check if it's dry, occasionally. Congrats, you have explored the male mind. I bet you Blue dries faster than white.

The Conduit
Basically most gamers are finally getting jealous that the Wii is getting some quality games. After not missing out on anything really exciting for months, the Wii is getting hit with tons of great games coming up. The developers are finally starting to pump out quality games, and everyone is beginning to wish they could play them. I haven't played WaW, but Medal of Honor has great controls (unless you can't find the sweet-spot on your sensor bar) that make sense for a Wii Fps. Think about - for a FPS, Left analog = move = nunchuck analog, Right analog stick = aim = Wii pointer. There's only 2 buttons or so that have to be made up for. And I can't wait for the quality games coming to the Wii =D Can't play the ones I'm looking at though (specifically Silent Hill (or RE4 to a lesser extent)) Gonna get the Conduit though

Live Concerts
Personally I would just hate to have seats to anysort of rock/metal show. I just love being around the pit. Hmm... I don't think they're seats. It's at Gillette Stadium (where the Patriots (football team) play, if you're American), and it's on the field. I think we're in A4 or A5, maybe B4

The Conduit
 #-o  :wall: Ok, a quick IGN check says it's so far only a rumor for the Wii, but nonetheless I would expect a big-title game like CoD6 to have decent enough time on the Wii to succeed.

Live Concerts
AC/DC tickets confirmed \ Good seats too. Second section for the stage, on the field. I can't wait to rub it in my friend's face.

The Conduit
I don't think Nintendo created the Wii to be the MiniClip of consoles. The problem with the Wii is that it has so much potential, but it also has a very milk-able surface that is used and raped by Third Parties who just want to make as much money as possible in as little time as possible. FPS on the Wii don't really exist as of now... Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 was good though, and had a great control scheme that made sense. Metroid Prime 3 worked very well, if you consider it an FPS, and I'm assuming CoD5 did well enough on its own. CoD6 will be coming to the Wii, and I expect controls on that to be good. Railshooters I'm not too big a fan of (at least at my house (keep 'em in the arcades)) but it does make sense to have them on the Wii. Resident Evil 4 (a third-person shooter) was remade for the Wii (I WANT IT) and was cited to have even better controls than it did on PS2/Gamecube.

The Conduit
All i can say is lol you fail. Except for the sega part. Deny the truth as much as you want. Hey, stupidity is written on the ceiling. No it isn't I checked beforehand. OT: I'm really looking forward to this game! So far the best looking (if not only good looking) game this year... how unfortunate :( I hope I'll have enough money when it's released though.

Live Concerts
I'm gonna start going to concerts this year  I went to Warped Tour last year with my cousin... but that doesn't count. This year I plan to see Dream Theater, maybe Tool, and my dad has already bought tickets to Machine (a Pink Floyd tribute) in two weeks, and he's looking to buy AC/DC tickets.
