The Running Thread
Soccer tryouts start tomorrow - and there's going to be a lot of running. But I haven't really run this summer, and at Captains Practices we ran a lot less than we should have. I'm a good enough runner, I'm sure I'll be fine - but I really hope I make it :( Question: When I eat bananas to help with cramps, should I be eating them for breakfast before I run, or some other time. Probably a stupid question, but I just wanna make sure.

Internet Memes
Memes are ok. Like someone said above, time and place. Makes a difference. I know people who CONSTANTLY say FAIL, and EPIC. And EPIC FAIL. They also have a warmspot for FAILWHALE. The constant beating of it is what gets to me. And I hate lolcats. I HATE THEM. usually. I didn't know THE GAME was a meme though - I remember hearing that in elementary school - 5 or 6 years ago.

The Last Airbender
LOVE the show. Movie, I'm skeptical. I don't need to explain why. Oh, and Aang doesn't look like he's doing martial arts in the trailer... whereas in the show they studied four different forms for each element and translated it into the show... (See seconds 13 to 17 in the trailer)

Stuff that creeps you out (Insects maybe? D:)
Man, I just read through all of this and now I'm going to bed. The smile was most freaky, even though I realised it was a dog photoshop after a few seconds. Still freaky as hell though. I'm freaked out by deep water. I can't reach the bottom, I can't see, and I can't tell what else is there. Fear of the unknown I guess. That and alien invasion. I would commit suicide if I was ever taken by aliens, or if they came to invade. Which reminds me of how much I wanna see District 9. I'm gonna have some helluva nightmare tonight. Followed by sleep paralysis. I hate you all.

where to mining addy and/or mith?
It used to be the best single-handed crossbow, before the crossbow overhaul. Now it's about the same as an adamant crossbow (I think), and can only use the kebbit bolts... which are a hassle to obtain. I suggest just buying a Rune Crossbow, and broad-tipped bolts, which are only about 65gp each, and as strong as adamant bolts. If you're contemplating whether to hunt the kebbits to get the bolt ammo, don't. There are much better things to train hunter with, and, as said above, the crossbow is easily beaten.

23 July 2009 Brazilian worlds (Runescape in Portuguese)
If they make the game into Spanish, I would assume it would be Latin Spanish, rather than Traditional Spanish. Not much different, just sayin' :P But, I suppose people in Spain play more than Latinos - from what I understand South America/Mexico/a lot of U.S. Latinos aren't particularly well off...

Buying a New Computer.
NVIDIA GeForce 9100 GS, only slightly better then integrated. But, it will still play portal. :geek: Regardless of that, i'm thinking you really don't need quad cores and 8 gb of ram, go for the computer Joe posted. Insanity's recommendation has better customer reviews, and no critical reviews, but Joe's suggestion has lower customer reviews and a good review from Cnet. Also, when you suggest Joe's, do you also intend for me to buy the videocard as well? PS. I edited in a question at the top that would also be nice to answer please thankyou.

Games You Think Should be Movies
I was going to put that, but I think I decided against posting it. But I was thinking more of a high-budget miniseries. Intro episode (so you know what's going on and why Milo (my name for him) went to the end of the world), 16 UNBELIEVABLY EPIC battles, and then the finale where the priests come and kill him. Maybe even an anime (it feels like it would work... but idk I don't watch anime). I'm also going to throw the Metroid Prime Trilogy into the mix. It would definitely be more of an action movie than an adventure film. Not sure how well it could work, though... Keep ideas flowing :

Games You Think Should be Movies
A movie could never fully capture a FF game. Take FFXII for example. You can play through the main story and it is rather boring, grinding some, fighting bosses, and beating the final boss. Then you have the side quests, all the different marks, the hell wyrm, the sky pirates den. Now the real meat of the game lies with the marks. Now in two hours we all know they'd focus on the main story. While fights with the hell wyrm or Yiazmat were the real epic parts about that game. This is one example but all FF games are like this. FFVII: the weapons, FFVIII: Getting all the GF's, FFIX: Ozma, FFX: the monster arena. All side quests although the last fight of FFVIII was about the most epic one. It doesn't have to be exactly like the game. Just pretend you have complete control over the production of the film, and an infinite supply of money.

Buying a New Computer.
My computer sucks. A LOT. It can't even play RuneScape reliably/smoothly at the lowest settings. At first, I thought I would buy a better graphics card from Newegg and a) save some money, and B) learn information that will no doubt be useful, but then I realized that my computer is so bad that this probably wouldn't even be worthwhile. So I've decided to save up and just buy a new desktop PC, ready-made and manufactured, from a local chain or store (like BestBuy). I am looking for a computer that would be good for general use, as it's mostly used for iTunes/Runescape (Although I'd like to play Portal...). I would prefer a desktop over a laptop, but a laptop is not completely out of the question (laptops are better than what I have now anyways). I don't want a Mac. My budget is preferably under $500; but I could probably stretch it up to $600. If you need to/want to see my computer specs, just ask and I can put them up. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Another question, regarding video cards. I understand that more memory > less memory, but I don't understand what a system requirement will mean if it says 'Direct X level 9 Card,' or Radeon X800. Could someone please explain it?

Games You Think Should be Movies
I know that videogame to movie adaptations nearly never work, but what are some games you believe should be made into movies? And just assume that you're the director :P I'd like to see Final Fantasy 6 - Epic storyline and great characters, along with a beautiful soundtrack. I think it would work best as 2 films though (Beginning to Apocalypse and Apocalypse to End), and cuts would be necessary (Mog, Umaro, and Gogo for sure, and maybe even Cid, Shadow, and Gau (which still leaves 9 Major Protagonists)). Haven't thought of any actors to fill roles yet.

Today...
How? Like when it was in your pocket, or did you set it down or something? Set it down in the 'loose articles' bin for a ride. I was laughing about the people next to me when I got off, and re-met my friend; walked out of the ride. About 20 seconds later (no exaggeration) I remembered that I left my phone, but it was already gone

A Question about the Harry Potter Series (SPOILERS)
Hey :? We just don't use that word over here... [hide=SPOILERS - Voldemort's Horcruxes]There are actually 8. Voldemort intended to create 7, but in failing to kill Harry, part of his soul was transferred into him. The full list is... 1) Voldemort's body 2) Tom Riddle's Diary 3-5) The Representative Items that once belonged to Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw 6) Nagina (is that right?) - Voldemort's pet snake 7) The Ring 8) Harry I suppose technically Voldemort isn't a Horcrux, but he there are 8 shards of his soul. Here is the wiki article, with all the information needed.[/hide]

Greatest Underrated Games
I was going to buy Psychonauts, but the closest one was in a Gamestop in a town miles away :( So I settled with FFXII. Can't think of any underrated games I own though.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince [REVIEW]
I liked the movie, moreso than I remember enjoying the 6th book. I recall the book as being too focused on the romance, until actual story development came in, near the end. The movie focused on the romance as well, but it worked much better to serve as character development for the limited amount of time allowed for the movie, and was taken more comically. I also loved Slughorn  If asked to see it again (for free of course) I would - it is a very good movie, and one of the best in the movie series. And if I see it again I'll do a full review :P PS. Near the end, when Snape revealed he was the Half-Blood Prince, a kid sitting behind me goes; 'What's the Half-Blood Prince?'

I thought about buying it for the DS, but I can't really afford it at full price. When it goes down, or when I have some extra cash, I'll have to be sure to pick it up.

[DevBlog] Animation Update: Pack 1
My computer couldn't play the second animation on the main RS site, but it can here. I hope RuneScapes base requirements don't go up - my computer's graphics card can barely play it as is

Final Fantasy Discussion thread
What are pebbles for? I bought a bazaar good (some grimoire that makes me get better drops), and I started getting them. Now I have like 20, but they're only worth 3 gil :| Also, any tips for fighting the boss in the Stilshrine of Miriam (the mermaid with ice minions)?

PS3 Price Cuts or Bust
Even if there is a price cut, I won't buy it until it's backwards compatible. There are too many good PS2 games (even if I only have 4 or 5 of them).
