Dungeonsweepers (DGS) - Huge changes; read first post.
No. I've only blacklisted one person because of something they said on TIF, and only because they basically informed me that they would have no part in following any instructions we give, nor would they attempt to learn anything because they just wanted to get their next chaotic and leave. If they hadn't expressed interest in using DGS in the same breath, I wouldn't have made the effort to blacklist them, but there's no way I'd give them a chance to cause any grief or stress for any of our keyers. Anyway, no - you're not blacklisted.

Is anyone else just completely disappointed with everyone?
Have you ever skimmed through another Runescape fansite? This is exactly why Tip.it is better than most others. Not the main site itself, but the guides in the AOW, the H&A sub-forum, and some of the discussions that take place in GD. It'd be foolish to insist that a fairy unicorn community is at all useful to a gaming forum without CONTENT. Take away the content and your forum is useless to both the average and hardcore gamer.

It's likely that DGS would move to Grimy's forums and the DGS page on Runescape.com.

He was asked politely multiple times to not post in the manner he was posting in and continued to do so. What do this say about him? To me it says he doesn't respect the people who maintain this website for no benefit of their own and then let people use it for free. Wait, so are you openly admitting to claiming ownership of his guide out of SPITE? C'mon, Mike, that's absurd and you know it.

It's pretty easy to devalue a protest by calling it a tantrum. Ultimately, we set out to make changes and we began it by seeking a private audience with Tip.it admins. It didn't go well. Then they banned multiple people who have legitimately contributed to the Tip.it community. Now it seems as though we're not the only ones unhappy with how things work here. Ultimately, I enjoy helping people and I'd like to continue doing that. DGS will continue, of course, but it'll be outside of Tip.it and I won't be involved in H&A anymore. If someone wants my advice or advice from other likeminded players, they can seek us out in Grimy's forum. I don't believe that protest is inherently unhealthy for a community.

TIF is bit over-moderated
You should be aware that we do not know who is posting the spam. I don't particularly care if you believe that or not, but ultimately it's true. Most of us are too busy with other things to bother with that.

I would just like to make everyone aware that DGS may be relocated. And this time it's serious. At our core we were always about helping Tip.iters get better at Dungeoneering, but I'm not sure how we can continue to cater specifically to Tip.iters when it's more than likely that we'll all be banned soon for speaking our minds and pushing for a change. For now, any rule changes to DGS can be found here: http://services.runescape.com/m=clan-home/clan/DGS I highly advise anyone looking for help and advice in regards to Dungeoneering or anything else to visit the link in my signature, or if you're already a DGS recruit, the DGS page. I'll let everyone know what's going on when we get something concrete. My sincerest apologies to all Tip.iters affected by these changes (both in regards to DGS and the helpful people who are leaving or have been forced out).

Intellectual Property
For me, both of these are definitely happening now. I don't want tipit to become a hell hole so I'm gonna remain here and help make it better. Remember the best way to fix something bad is to actually fix it, not continuing to post and complain and stuff. The problem is that we've already gone into private discussion with the admins, and nothing happened. It was kinda chaotic at first, but once everything was settled and our ideas were put on the table, it was basically brushed off. Then a bunch of prominent guide-writers got banned for harmlessly joking with each other. I mean, what else can we do at this point? I just don't feel like Tip.it deserves our contributions. However, that is not to say that Tip.it POSTERS shouldn't be helped. I'd highly advise everyone to sign up at Grimy's forum at least temporarily if you need any sort of help and advice. Any future guides will be posted there, too. Also, nice job on moving this thread away from the public, Jimmy Jim. :)

Intellectual Property
I wouldn't dare write a guide for Tip.it knowing that now. Furthermore, it's actually detrimental for Tip.it to ban guidewriters without deleting their guides. He-who-shall-not-be-named's guide could become obsolete with the next update, but he won't be able to make changes . . . because he's banned. They've effectively doomed his guide to misinforming newer users in the future. Very, very unprofessional. They need to delete guides when asked. It is not their's to take, regardless of the fine print.

TIF is bit over-moderated
May I make a suggestion? There should a confirmation screen when creating new topics in general guides. The confirmation screen should say "are you sure you want to give up your intellectual property to Tip.it?" Then we could save everyone the hassle of having their guides stolen. :)

Posting this in the right place - far from the eyes of the general population. :) ^ This will never get done. Nice one, Tip.it.

Efficiency Trolls
This message was sent to myself and many "efficiency clowns." This project was originally being headed by Quyneax and Bladewing was involved. Guess what? Three of the people involved have now been banned and most of the others have been ostracized to the point of boycotting it completely. Tip.it admins and mods and even the [bleep]ing general Tip.it population ban us, censor us, and send us to the preverbial gallows because we help people on these forums regardless of their feelings toward us. THEN WHEN THEY BAN US, THEY KEEP OUR GUIDES DESPITE MULTIPLE REQUESTS TO HAVE THEM REMOVED because their usefulness as a fansite directly correlates to the work we put in for them. Frankly, this is pathetic. You can't ask us to help you and then [bleep]ing ban us and censor us. ^ This will never get done. Nice one, Tip.it.

fury or herblore?
Extremes are more useful than a fury. However, the difference between a fury and a glory is non-trivial. You should use your fury till you have enough to sell it to buy a good supply of extreme strengths and attacks.

Fastest Slayer Points
It's not a matter of speed. Even with turmoil, extremes, rapier, and a steel titan, they're just not great for experience/effigies/drops/charms. And not really related, but I can complete a very large dust devils task in about 20-25 minutes.

Penance vs. Void?
Full penance is only useful for getting pro BA teams. Void is useful for - like Nifflin said - more reasons than I care to post.

Power Slayer
http://forum.tip.it/topic/262065-complete-slayer-guide/ http://forum.tip.it/topic/280097-effigyscape-wip/ And Enaid has a nifty slayer setup post that I seem to have lost. I know someone has it copied, so I'll let that person (or Enaid herself) post it.

I like the tools. We'll figure out a way to deal with the randoms in a more elegant fashion. It's undoubtedly annoying right now, though.
-
Dungeonsweepers (DGS) - Huge changes; read first post.
One thing that will really help is for everyone to ask randoms if they've fully read and understand the guidelines. If they really know what they're getting into, I'm less inclined to kick them out. If you see people doing stupid things during floors, tell them what they're doing wrong. If they argue or neglect to make the changes, report it to an admin (here or on Skype) and one of us will personally take care of it.

The guidelines are more strict and there's a warning on the DGS page. Here, I'll copypaste it: - As a relatively small dungeoneering clan, we are not able to accommodate everyone. - We have very high standards and are quick to kick/ban. - Please do not use the clan chat without reading and understanding the guidelines. - Do not PM admins about joining DGS. - Do not join DGS before 70 dungeoneering. Any suggestions? Frankly, I don't mind 100+ randoms joining as long as they adhere to the guidelines are willing to learn, but only because they'd more than likely need only a little instruction here and there. I am definitely not willing to teach just any random who stumbles into the chat - that service is reserved for Tipiters only. This is just my opinion though. We're getting so many randoms because we're currently #9 (was #7 last night) on the clan highscores for exp gains and #5 for dungeoneering exp gains. Ultimately, it's going to be hard to weed out the randoms without a proper level requirement. I really wish we could just make our clan page private, but alas . . . Again, does anyone have any suggestions for how we could deter RSOFers?

There's no signup, just pop into the clan chat whenever.

Camping Corp
I don't really know a way to word this without sounding insulting, you can't find a decent team without maxed melees, overloads, and turmoil. You can probably get into big RSOF teams, but that's about it, and they're not very good.

Are these two items really worth it... for me?
Again, I've seen rapier fail much harder than CLS -anywhere-. I feel as though there may or may not have been a thread somewhere relating to this . . . Anyway, Ezzzzzyyyykaton - like Enaid said, a rapier would also help you fight off crashers (important for Bandos). Dungeoneering came out when I was around 97 slayer, I think, and I just went ahead and kept slaying for various reasons (not the least of which was that I found 117/148 extremely frustrating). If you're below 96 slayer, the rapier will most likely save you time on the last three levels, on top of being useful for just about everything after that. Basically, I know you do a ton of bosshunting and a SW cape and rapier are great tools for such; the rapier more so. Also, K'ril is weak to stab. ;)

That's odd... How many people were in the group? I had one last night in a 5 man in w117 since I couldn't find anyone in the cc to dunj with and all it spawned were level 111+. We let it reset 5 or 6 times, but never anything less than 111 came out of it. Monos were changed pretty recently. They're now easier than they used to be (for the most part).
