Music genres you Can't stand?[flame war=ban]
Lol, Nadril, you want stupid country? My dad got the Country Heat 2008 CD. It's absolutely HORRIBLE. I mean... There's a song called 'Ticks'. The chorus: I wanna see you, out in the moonlight I wanna kiss you, honey, way back in the sticks I wanna walk you through a field of wildflowers And I wanna check you for ticks. I mean... Wow. That's pretty bad. I also must disagree on the fact that you can like any genre if you get into it. I usually hate country, but I'm into a bit of Ridley Bent and Big & Rich. However, rap and/or hip-hop just turns me off right away. It's not even the lyrics so much, although sometimes those are pretty bad too (Soulja Boy anyone?). Rather, it's just the musical style. I'm a fan of musical skill and technicality - I'm a prog-rock kid, and rap/hip-hop just doesn't do it for me at all in that style. I've never heard a rap song I enjoyed.

The Lost Library RPG ( Entrance "Exam")
Running away from the duel arena as fast as his legs would carry him, Emmett was still slightly behind Ekelstreep and Zerg. He ran harder and harder, working just to keep up, until they reached a small breach in a cliffside. 'In here!' he called, and the other two turned towards them. 'I can make a flame wall to hold off the villagers until we can get out. Come on!' They ducked inside the small cave and Emmett began his preparations. The villagers were closer than ever, but as Emmett finished his invoking, he swept his hand across the opening to the cave and a wall of flame burst into being over the entire opening. 'That should be enough to hold off those superstitious villagers. Now let's find a way out of this cave.'

New to guitar
Chords are the first thing you should start with, Pyro's right. Cool lead lines are great, but for playing alone, chords are what you need to sound good, and they're the easiest thing to play. Start with that, and a bit of theory. Also, lessons are very much worth it. I didn't want them, but after going, I loved them.

The Lost Library RPG ( Entrance "Exam")
Lol, mmk. Emmett looked around to make sure his companion was well away, and then let off his second spell, another fire spell. In fact, his favourite fire spell. He threw some items into the air and spun a full circle, waving his hands in the same method as he had the first time in Xarosen's cavern. From his wavering hands shot a huge fireball, larger than any he had done previously. It flew to the center of the elves and detonated in a huge blast, slaying the lastof the elves. Zerg, looking slightly shellshocked, stepped from the blast, tough as Emmett had hoped. Luckily, he had not been slain. 'Well,' said Emmett, 'shall we carry on?'

Zombie Breakout: one weapon, one song, one companion
Totally a scimitar for my weapon. That'd be some epic ownage right there. Song? In the Presence of Enemies by Dream Theater. Companion? I dunno... I'm going to have to go with the aforementioned Chuck Norris. Unoriginal, sure, but epic. Ooh, looking at the topic review, I see I Had An Angel by Nightwish. That's a close second for song. Sweet song.

Anyone know what happened to the rest of team Beta?

Offical Age of Conan thread
If you read the official forums for any game, every class sucks. Taking a look at the WoW forums, I've read every forum on there, and there are absolutely zero that have a good ratio of happiness:QQ. Everyone just wants to complain, it's the way MMOs work.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
None of the decent ones would. Unfortunately, many girls are often uninterested in the decent guys, because they all like the jocks who pressure them into having sex within days of starting a relationship, and are only in it for the sex. Why they like these types of guys is a mystery to me. However, as I've seen much about the 'sensitive jerk' in this thread, it's unfortunate that at a young age, girls only often want the jerk side, and haven't progressed far enough emotionally to want the sensitive side yet. It also doesn't help that many of the jerks are the 'cool' kids, or the jocks, or the popular crowd. There are a good number of men who would date a chick who screwed around because it was the 'in' thing, but none of them are decent. :wall:

flying, which would you prefer?
I would totally go with wings. I mean, they're just awesomely sexy. How could anyone resist? And I gotta say, Superman looks like an idiot when he's flying. In the old movies mostly, but the newer ones, he still looks stupid. Whereas, say, Illidan in the WoW cinematics, he looks totally AWESOME. He's vaguely humanoid, and that's what I'd picture myself looking like if I had wings. Wings are SO much cooler. Style-wise, I'd go with flaming orange ones. Feathers and all. Demonic is the cool way to be.

"The Grid", What are your thoughts?
I must say, I love the sound of it. I mean, imagine having any resource you want, anywhere, at your fingertips with no download time or transfer time. You could transfer hundreds of gigabytes in under a minute. The average internet user might not need it, but think of the advances it could fuel in science where some models and plans and formulas and whatever you can think of are hard to transfer due to bandwidth restrictions. It could be amazing. And you know, I wouldn't mind playing WoW or AoC at hundreds of FPS either. =)

The Lost Library RPG ( Entrance "Exam")
Emmett sighs. He didn't really want to hurt the elves, but they WERE supposed to protect Zerg. He quickly pulled a small piece of sulphur from his components pouch and began an incantation, moving into the center of the elves. Suddenly, an explosion of fire rocked the ground around as his fireburst spell went off. The elves stumbled back, slightly dazed, and Emmett took the opportunity to slip aside out of the field of view of the elves, while he started preparing another spell, hoping that his friends would be able to hold the elves away from him for long enough to get a spell off.

Money? How? Why?
Haha, you actually bought that thing? :P Actually, I went betting and won some money while over in America on horse betting. Won ~$900, so I don't mind. Is Frostmourne what I think it is? 0.0.....

Fourth Edition D&D
Today I went into the local hobby shop and checked out for myself the much-anticipated fourth edition of D&D. I'd heard bad things about it, but went in optimistic. That was relatively silly. My hopes were dashed. Wizards of the Coast seemed to have ruined much of their ages-old game, taking out some core mechanics and screwing with the races & classes beyond belief. In all honesty, it kind of pissed me off. I've been a D&D player for near to four years now, and while that's not as much as most, it's still enough for me to get a little set in my ways. This edition looked too much like D&D was trying to be a pen-and-paper MMO for me. Terms like 'tank' and 'healer' scattered throughout the book, ruination of the alignment system and attack roll changes all made the game look too much like WoW for my liking. I'm going to stick wth 3.5E for the time being. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Anyone that bought it and loves it, or hates it? I'm wondering desperately if I'm the only one who really dislikes it.

Know any artists that other people should know?
Most of my favourites are pretty well-known... However, some of the older prog-rock guys are only known to real prog fans, so... Try some Yes and Genesis. Another (non-prog) band is a German techno band called E Nomine. Pretty creepy, dark stuff, but fun to listen to.

The official World of Warcraft thread.
I have to say, though, watching any PvP game is a lot better if you're actually watching one of your friends play, rather than just a video capture. However, I'll admit that WoW produces some of the nicest PvP vids out there. I doubt AoC is ever going to catch up PvE-wise. I mean, Blizzard's been releasing new content for PvE for a long, long time. Funcom just started. If AoC has a selling point, it's certainly not PvE. Their PvP system is apparently amazing, but raiding in WoW will probably always stay king, unless the combat system in AoC somehow lends itself to better, more enjoyable raiding. I can't wait until a bigger number of 80s happen and they start to make vids and strats of AoC raiding. That seems to kinda be the topic of conversation lately, doesn't it? Whether AoC can compare to WoW in certain aspects. Hmm...

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I haven't read the previous page to keep up with the thread, but this comment [bleep]ed a little interest in me, simply because I've had the same problem so often. I'm not one for keeping secrets, and aren't very good at it even when I do try, so usually when I like a girl, she knows before I manage to ask her out. Sometimes, it still works out okay, but as often as not, it ends up that she'll be a little weirded out by it, and turn a little awkward and stop wanting to hang out with me so much. Now, it's not an overly pronounced difference, but their entire attitude is affected and my chances of going out with them ever drop a good amount. I suppose the best idea is to keep it to yourself until you manage to ask her out, but honestly, that's just personal experience and I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do. Hmm... Actually, a lil' bit of advice for Klan wouldn't go awry here either.

The Lost Library RPG ( Entrance "Exam")
Emmett grinned. 'Ahh - hadn't thought of that. Yes, most certainly. Glad someone other than myself is here - I'd be dead for sure.' This last was said during the opening stages of his invocation, one that culminated in a primordial-sounding grunt and a rush of air flowing from his upraised hands towards the steam. The cyclone whipped the steam around and flung it at Xarosen, hitting him full-on. Emmett watched with bated breath, hoping desperately that this idea would work - they didn't have enough time to figure out something else.

A child of the 90's, this is what shaped my world.(few pics)
Oh, man! It's Angry Beavers! I love that show!!!! On the topic of video games, I had a Gameboy Colour, and loved the old Pokemon games. Does anyone else think that the new ones abo[bleep]ely suck and that green, blue and red were the best? Nadril, I loved those old pics, I remember some of those really, really old games. They're amazing too =) God, what good times I had as a kindergarten kid. =P Yeah, no kidding. Another great show. Unfortunately, my TV has been disconnected for, like, seven years now, so those are the only shows I've ever seen on TV. TV nowadays absolutely sucks. There are some okay comedies on, and everything else is just bad. Like, really bad.

Money? How? Why?
Well, yeah. Nice stuff is always nice. Unnecessary nice stuff is still nice. It's just that I wouldn't personally choose to have THAT specific extravagance over, say, a new game for my computer or a nice new hockey stick or something. Personal opinion, I suppose.

RS: Formal Portrait
Wow! That's REALLY good. I agree with the idea that the background is a little blurry, but beyond that, it looks really, really aazing. Very well done portrait. =D>

Money? How? Why?
Well, yes, but with Vista over 98, you get added functionality as well. I mean, what upgrades can you make to a cell phone that improve the functionality? Not the PLAN, the phone itself. I mean, as long as it dials and sounds okay, what more do you need?
