Post your music collection.
Daan, you'll be glad to know that I have no downloaded music on my computer. I barely break 3 gigs, but it's all been bought and paid for from CD stores out of my own pocket (which is why I have so little ;) )

NEW! - Champion Your Band!
I was thinking I'll do Dream Theater; I know enough about them already, and what I don't know, I can easily look up. But if you want to do it instead, go right ahead, I'm not going to stop you. Oh, fine, go ahead ;) I've already done one, so they're all yours. I'd like to learn about them from soeone else's point of view, too. I'd like to see Porcupine Tree too.

Trolls that drop charms?
Mountain trolls do, though rarely and badly. I don't know of any others.

Gold Mining, Between The Rock mining site?
Absolutely, it's an awesome place to mine gold. Fastest in the game I believe.

Misfile
True, and Vash might also be missing his holy sword... It's been a while since we've seen it, hasn't it? It moves slow 'cause there's only a page a day, doesn't it? I read it anyways, even when it's frustratingly slow. Oh, yeah, @Dragoon: He does say 'Nothing happened', though.

Misfile
Since we lost this topic somewhere in the rollback, and things are getting good in the comic right now, I think it's time we resurrected the Misfile topic. I'm kinda freaked out about Vash having possibly killed Rachiel still... This is getting weird. (For those who currently do not read the comic, http://www.misfile.com is the website. It's a daily-updated webcomic by Chris Hazelton, very addictive and amazing.)

A world without internet
I'd play sports a hell of a lot more. I play lots of hockey already, but in summer I'd start playing soccer, organizing games for people my age group weekly, stuff like that. I'd also improve my golf game a lot. Beyond that, I'd actually have to talk to people, so I'd improve my social skills as well.

Help identifying a song
On the kind of radio station that plays Celine Dion and Phil Collins? Don't think so. Unfortunately, I can't help you here.

Champion Your Band, 3 - Rush by klankaos
[hide=Three clean albums]Hemispheres This album marked the final "epic" piece of Rush's career, Hemispheres, which tells the story of the Greek gods of emotion and rationality fighting, and being calmed by the god of balance, who is the space-traveller from the song 'Cygnus X-1 Book I: The Voyage' from the previous album. It also has the distinction of having the least number of tracks on any Rush album recorded, with only four songs on the album. It also saw Rush's first of many great instrumental pieces, La Villa Strangiato. This album did not enjoy quite the commercial success the previous two did, but still managed to go platinum in the US, becoming the fourth in a string of twenty-three gold and platinum Rush albums, to put them tied with Kiss for the third-longest string ever. Youtube clip: Circumstances Permanent Waves This was Rush's transition album from progressive rock to popular rock. Although the album does include the nine-minute, three-chapter Natural Science, the other songs on the album are geared more towards the popular culture. For this album, Neil had been working on another epic song, but had to shelve the project simply because it did not fit with the tone of the other songs on the album. Rush also began to play around with recording tricks on this album as well, notably the recording of the intro to Natural Science in a mountainous valley to make it echo. This album does not contain so much of the playing around with time signatures of the previous albums, either, which were one of the characteristics of the progressive sound Rush were no longer attempting to present. Youtube clip: Power Windows Power Windows is considered by many Rush fans to be the penultimate Rush record (or at least one of the best). Its tone changed amazingly from the previous album, becoming more upbeat, with single notes taking precedence over chords. This album was another with many hits, including 'Manhattan Project'. This album was, although still largely synthesized, so different from the previous two albums that it took many fans completely by surprise. The album's lyrics were centered on the theme of power, as all the songs were about some manifestation of power, whether it be money (The Big Money), emotion (Emotion ) or nuclear war (Manhattan Project). Youtube clip: Manhattan Project[/hide] There ya go. Edited out the crappy rollback screwups, and you're left with a clean version of my thoughts on those three albums, Kalphite.

My father's proposal.
Wikipedia - Insomnia Linked to the Causes section of Wikipedia's insomnia article. Note that in there, the only one that could POSSIBLY be related to computers/technology is an overactive mind. Propose to your father that you have to get off the computer an hour or so before you go to sleep, to let your mind cool down a little, and make sure he knows that using a computer is not a source of mental agitation for you. Failing that, parents are most unreasonable. I had this same problem, though not as severely as you, a few years back - my parents also decided to take away computer priviliges, although they only restricted them to daylight hours. It didn't work. I eventually just dealt with a few issues I had going on (not serious, but I just wasn't used to stress) and I was okay. Make sure he realizes that removal of technology is not going to solve anything and will actually make you MORE agitated, causing even MORE insomnia. Vicious spiral.

The Lost Library RPG ( Entrance "Exam")
Apologies, everyone, for a lack of participation this last week. I've been away at camp, and forgot to tell everyone where I was going. My bad. Unforunately I'm going back next week, so I'm just gonna take myself right out of the story for the next week and a half. Until two Sundays from now, I'm out. Dragoonson or Llamster, one of you can take over my character for the next week and some, or if you don't feel like it, bring in some slightly believable way to put me out for a good while.

Coke vs Pepsi
Meh. I never preferred the Black Cherry Coke to either Vanilla or Classic. As stated, I'll take a good Vanilla Coke over any drink, any time. I've been a coke drinker since, like, age seven, and haven't stopped yet. Never had serious dental issues or stomach issues. However, I'm not a true addict - I buy it over other pop when I'm at the store, but I don't buy it by the truckload. Yes, when I said any drink, water was included ;)

The Lost Library RPG ( Entrance "Exam")
Emmett watched as Ekelstreep peered around the corner, then pulled back. 'What do you see?' he asked, and Ekelstreep described the lone ranger to him. 'Hmm...' thought Emmett, then he turned back to Ekelstreep. 'There are two of us to his one, and he's a ranger underground. We shouldn't have any problems taking him out if we try, but let's see if he's friendly first.' Emmett stepped around the corner and spoke directly to the ranger. 'My name's Emmett. What are you doing down here, so far from your natural environment?'

Coke vs Pepsi
What he said. Anyone here read the book Blink? It's all about snap judgments and how our subconscious works. There was a thing in there about Coke vs. Pepsi. Pepsi was advertised as having beaten Coke in more than two-thirds of blind 'sip tests', where drinkers took a drink of both blindfolded and said which one was better. But Coke did their own research and found that while that was true, they were more popular because Pepsi got worse and overly sweet the more you drank it, while Coke stayed nice all the way through the can because it wasn't disgustingly sweet like Pepsi, which is why people preferred Pepsi in sip-tests. I also don't seem to be the only person who likes vanilla Coke more than normal. However, the black-cherry stuff was gross. Still okay, but gross compared to the classic kind.

Abstract signature
Looks great! The text seems a little cramped, maybe solve the space-on-the-left problem by making the font a little bigger and just increasing the size of the textbox and/or moving it up a little bit. I love the rest of the signature though =)

Learning Acoustic Guitar
Yeah, you'll probably be okay once you figure out where they correspond to the fretboard, which isn't too hard. Although it's useful to learn to read tabs as well, seeing as most online resources have the songs you'll want to play tabbed, not sheet-musicked (if that can be considered a word). I played saxophone as well for a couple of years in junior high, and it's surprising how much transfers between the two instruments.

Champion Your Band, 3 - Rush by klankaos
Argh. Wow, bump from like the umpteenth page =) I'm glad you're getting into them. If you liked 2112 and Moving Pictures, you're probably going to love Hemispheres especially. It's their most prog album - four songs, 45 minutes, and La Villa Strangiato and Hemispheres. Hemispheres being 20 minutes and La Villa Strangiato having six separate time signatures (3/4, 4/4, 5/8, 6/8, 7/8, and 9/8) besides being one of their most musically together albums as well. If I can find it on my computer, I'll post up what I had saved of the post, especially those three albums. Damn that rollback, I liked that post. =P

Offical Age of Conan thread
Well, you know, sometimes graphics designers need to let loose a little. =) Lol, that's just cool. Oh yeah, Nad, it's been bugging me for a while that the title of this thread is (+Revew!) when your sig is spelt right =P Change it! It offends my grammar-nazi sensibilities.

Music genres you Can't stand?[flame war=ban]
Progressive music is very much players' music, and you have to have a certain appreciation for the style of music involved and the technical and composition skills of the artists. If you're just out for good sounds, it's probably not for you, but if you're like me and like awesome, technically skilled artists, progressive is the way to go. That's why I love the genre so much.

'Certainly,' replied Emmett, casting a minor telekinesis spell to lift the flaming ball of kerosene and hold it out in front of them. 'I must warn you, though, should we enter combat, I won't be able to maintain this. Hopefully I'll get off a spell that will give you enough illumination to fight in.'

What are your talents?
I've always thought I learned faster than other people. I pick up new things faster, and so people think I'm better than them, but I'm not - I'm just learning faster. So I end up being bored in school and stuff a lot, and people always come to me for help, because I'm finished. I learned it all the first run through. I play the guitar relatively well, although not as well as I'd like to. Second place in the competitive talent show a couple weeks back \ I play hockey, as well. Best Defence four years running, although I've never played rep. That's what I do better than most people. I like this thread. :

Moral Law
I believe that the human race is hardwired to behave as is good for the rest of the species. All animals are hardwired for species survival, and at the base of it, that's what we are - animals. If we didn't help each other out, then we'd die off, and that's not what we were made to do. The individual may be bad, but the species as a whole is trying to find a way to survive, which means cooperating and looking out for others' interests. Overall, I believe that from another human's point of view, we'll always be considered 'good' if you look at the race as a whole, because we're working for survival. However, from the fish's point of view, for instance (aw, hell, choose any animal you want, it doesn't make a difference), we're not doing good at all. We're probably evil, because we take their friends and family and eat them. So does that make us good or bad? I'm still going with good.
