doesn't it defeat the point of having a death system if you can pick the items you keep? It won't be much of a penalty if you can dictate what you lose. (also its even harder to choose when you are dead).

I personally don't beleive that F2p need a new quest. What Jagex is trying to do is when you eventually get bored with F2p you upgrade to members. From a business point of view theres no point updating consistently to encourage customers to not pay. The infrequent updates work much better as they wet the appetite for more frequent updates ie. in members.

Your level 84 and you get hounded by low-level F2per's? What were you wearing? I'm 85 and I can't remember the last time another player acted immature to me or begged for free stuff (was so long ago). Though it may be because I'm F2p and the most expensive thing I have walked around in is full Guthix rune armour...

I have to agree there, I've been playing for a decent number of years now and only have 2 people on my friends list I talk to regulary. The rest are people I talked to once or twice and then never talk again. In my opinion no one deserves respect, it can only be earned. It's about how people react to people rather than how many hours they put in a game.

I can't confirm this, but I think it's as strong as a rune Scimitar on demons... Believe it or not I used to be f2p and I tried silverlight out on "real" demons after finishing demon slayer just like everyone else did and I'm reasonably sure it sucked it's slower and less accurate than rune scimitar/longsword so isn't really worth it.

I can't think of a circumstance when I would need to swear and so cannot see this as a feasible change. It will only encourage that small minority to cuss and swear every alternate word.

sounds like a pointless topic imo, when I read the title I thought it was about the combat triangle. How does having combat for 3 rounds suddenly make pking balanced? Also the notion that people only train their skills to pk is laughable.

Maybe have a system like Fist of Guthix, where runes are supplied and rangers receive their arrows back?

tbh, I was surprised the the runecrafting guild was made F2p at all. but of course I am extremely grateful, something I can aim for :thumbsup: . However I disagree with a lot of peoples ideas of opening P2p items to F2p just because 'P2p don't use them'. Just because they arent used by the mainstream of the client base doesnt mean that they can be added with impunity. If F2p is given too much too frequently (ie. whenever a members item is released that is not 'popular' then they will lack the incentive to get members as new items will gradually flow into F2p hands to keep them occupied and reduce the incentive to get members. There, essay over :)

dragonhide body and rune platelegs seem the best to me, though its a toss up with rune chainbody/dragonhide legs. have you checked how much each cost? that might help you decide. (e.g. how much you'll have to spend to replace if you die etc.)

I found the Christmas quest much more enjoyable than the event this year. The ice sliding required a little bit of thought but was easy enough to sort out when you had a little think about it (doesn't help when your girlfriend is nagging in your ear to help with dinner though :lol: ). the Christmas event seemed a little simple though that was probably down to more effort being put into the quest, however it was enjoyable none the less. Also liking the emote! :thumbsup: *quick question* do you reckon the ice necklace will remain in game after the event? as when you try to destroy it it says you can get it back from Diango but I dont know whether it will just be re-attainable to complete the event in the next 2 weeks.

+1 the longsword is also more accurate, and hits slightly harder. i used a longsword my whole career, and the only reason i ever use a skimmy is if the target has little to no defence, then only is it better. ps. unbiased my arse Hehe, I went to Roaches with my F2P friend with a Rune Longsword thinking "Hey, it might be pretty good from what I've heard!". I was dead wrong, my lvl 84 F2P friend with Rune Scimitar was getting the kills... I just ended up using the Rune Scimitar I got as a drop from there instead. just use the controlled option with the longsword. I've found that cockroaches seem to be less resistant to stab attacks than slash. I tried it and was beating all the scimitar wielders ;)
