  1. It's generally advisable to keep Attack slightly higher merely for training purposes. However, if you're just starting out you should level each skill together and keep them relatively close.

Usually twenty hours hours. It will restock periodically within that time, for instance not all of the items respawn at once.

Woah, that truly is amazing! Great job! :D
  4. Many corporations work with software that no longer receive updates, especially those with unique specialities. It's doubtable that Windows XP will receive any more updates that totally break it in a way to make the software unusable. Even if it were to happen, you could rollback to a previous date and omit the update. And yes Dervish, if you buy a copy of Windows XP you should be able to install it over Windows 7 by reformatting the partition. Many users here would be happy (at the very least have the knowhow) to help you with that.
  5. It's far easier to stick with a platform rather than learn how to use a different piece of software and in many cases it's not a possibility to switch over to something different. If it works with Windows XP, it should always work with Windows XP, so I'm not sure what you mean by that statement.

Sorry to tell you that you wasted your money on Bandos. You really want Armadyl or Karils (although it will degrade, but the melee degradation on the former isn't too helpful). :\

I don't wish to be a pain in the [wagon], but the effectiveness of each shop added is lower and lower. Getting a few hundred feathers is hardly profitable I'd say (I could be dead wrong). Perhaps it is wise to mention certain things on a sidenote as optional and to keep an efficient route as mainguide? Put an average profit next to certain parts in the guide? Like picking papaya is 4x (aprox) 1800 = 7200gp. Just put a line with Profit for this part: 7200gp. That way people can efficiently decide which they do and don't. Again, the problem is that these items are heavily dictated by the Grand Exchange. I wouldn't mind adding in a different section with all of the item totals and profits to make it easier to update. However, section by section makes it more difficult to update and I don't have that time anymore. The only feathers on that list that are viable are the ones on Miscellania and Etceteria. There's also a feather shop in Oo'glog that I will be adding in shortly. I got the vials in Rellekka, unless I missed another spot. EDIT: Update: *Addresses three new feather shops for an added profit summation of ~27-30k. Thank you mckinzy5.
  8. I wish I could give you just one answer, but there isn't one. There are many reasons discussed on these threads: http://forum.tip.it/topic/225831-3rd-agespirit-shieldsphats-discussion/ http://forum.tip.it/topic/255239-merchanting-clans-do-more-harm-than-good/ http://forum.tip.it/topic/254675-jan-11-update-speculation-responsible-for-many-items-crashing/ http://forum.tip.it/topic/254427-why-are-all-the-rares-rising-in-price-so-fast/ Here you will find many answers, some longer than others.

  12. The damage done to a player doesn't matter-there is no danger in either fight except for the consumable ingredients used. This being so, the dangers of each are comparable. In one, you sit there for ten minutes with prayer and the other you spend five minutes spamming brews and restores with auto-retaliate on. It's a bit more complicated than that. First, you need decent stats to be able to damage him often enough. Second, you need to know his order of attacks so that you can dodge his 75 dmg attack and prepare for his 98 damage attack. You should be able to recognize them, but the stronger of his attacks were uncovered during the quest. Other than that you just keep your health at above 75. Your former point also applies to the avatar, which has a seemingly higher defense level in comparison Nomad.

  14. I thank you for the initial defense. Take the statement how you will, but I do not believe you can call it 'unprofessional' or 'wrong' when I clearly labeled it as an opinion. It took me three tries to combat the Avatar, as I was not prepared for its healing abilities. But my weapons sliced through Nomad like butter compared to the Avatar. That is your opinion, and one I respectfully disagree with.
  15. I disagree. I don't have 92 prayer, and while I do have 99 attack and other relatively high combat levels, I don't feel it's as difficult as everyone believes. The battle is practically the entirety of the quest and as such it should be set appropriately. The rewards don't have any extreme game-changing effects that compel you to complete it for fear of lessened in comparison to other players (unlike the Temple at Senntisten). Perhaps this is rebound "quest-capers" were looking for; their cape is more intensely coveted. But it is your opinion, I just thought I'd share mine. In addition, I might add that I thought the Decaying Avatar was more challenging than Nomad. [/hide] Really Laura? you must have stolen Nomads walking stick and showed him for the frail old man he is :-P Censors indicate Troll. If it's that easy, why not upload a video of it to demonstrate that Who? Myself or Smelly? I don't believe Smelly to be a troll (as much as he may smell like one :P) and my comment was not in efforts to elicit an emotion from any reader. I am simply saying that I was slightly disappointed by the battle. You do not lose items upon death, making there little if any danger-the only cost being the restoration of barrows armour and the consumable concoctions in your inventory. The video shown early on in the quest gave the quester subtle yet helpful clues in the challenge to come later on. For instance, the ice barrage casted by Nomad should have indicated that ranged might prove useful in the battle. As such, I wore Armadyl to the battle after realizing from the helpful players at Soul Wars that you spawned right outside of the tent. One should have also noticed the distinct hit of 98 on the Elite Archer. Why 98? Would 99 not be more potent and perhaps offer a cleaner kill? Armed with rocktails, diamond bolts, a ZGS and finely crafted ranger's armour I went into the battle. It lasted only seconds, however, as I tripped one of his bombs while he lashed out a 75. Clearly Saradomin brews must more effective, then. I went back in, this time avoiding the incendiary devices and keeping my health well above 80. It just so happened that when he was amassing his signature 98 hit I was potted to 115HP. After I learned all of these moves, the battle was easy and I did not need a second trip back below the hallowed ground. I enjoyed the fact that Jagex added in these little inklings within the story line but I was disappointed at how quick it was. If you could offer me any advice on how to redo the battle I would be more than happy to test out several methods. I do wonder how well vengeance would work there. Forgive me, but I usually do quests to gain a reward or as a break from Castle Wars; my intent is usually not to prove to a handful of users that I am able to complete it.

Such detail! I must commend you for making such a splendid and ornate piece of art. I cannot wait to see the finished product. :D

  19. Am I missing something about the avatar? I keep getting him down to half health only for him to heal. I try to destroy the roots, but he's too fast. I've been using Ruby (e) bolts and then switching to melee.

The problem with the money made is that it is extremely dependent on Grand Exchange. I was thinking about breaking out the sum of a finite arithmetic series, to at least tell readers how much they are buying their runes for so that they might tally up the price difference themselves. EDIT: I just timed myself and managed to get everything except Bork done in 28 minutes, so perhaps twenty is a bit optimistic. Either way, the purpose of this guide is not to mislead people, so I will double the aforementioned time. Thank you. I have corrected the mistakes. It was originally added into the guide, because it's right there on your way to the Gnome Village, but the problem is that it forces you to bank. There's two solutions to this problem: teleport to the Gnome Stronghold first, bank the branches and collect the branches from the willow tree outside the bank and deposit them, then teleport to the Gnome Village and collect the papayas. But this leaves you banking twice and using the tree twice. Or you could run to the Varrock West Bank and deposit them there, but then you have to run back around through the castle. I perhaps made a mistake on my initial test of this allotment, and I'm happy to hear any remedy to this. :) I'll try and find it.

Except of course that you should always use a beast of burden for this, so you'll actually need more. But its more of a pain if you use a BoB. Thats why it be easier to just not use one. If nothing else, you should be using half of the spaces allocated by the BoB. After you charge your orbs, deposit some of them in the BoB and then withdraw the unpowered orbs it is carrying. Then repeat.

Yeah, that's another thing i did. Comparing the prices of Limpwurt seeds and Marigold seeds and the harvests is insane. But Marigold is not great experience though, but it's good if your up for it. Thank you, they are definitely worth doing. Thank you for the additional information. I added in a warning to look at the price of death runes before purchasing. :)
