how to 360 flip goofy
You are questioning his intelligence, basically calling him a vegetable, because he doesn't type in a grammatically correct manner; this is the internet. It's certainly not as bad as some people on here and it's even worse when they don't put spaces after punctuation.

well, i cant because im grounded from cpu for 2 weeks for hacking my dads admin acc and downloading maplestory =/ You seem to be confusing "hacked" with "quietly peered over his shoulder". Based on your grammar, I find it difficult to believe that you can perform simple motor tasks. Ironic.

Is a Macbook a good college laptop?
Again? Have you ever touched one? 1. Yes, you can. You can't upgrade the GPU or CPU. But you can't do that in Windows all-in-ones either. 2. This is aluminium MacBook. There is a right and left click and multi-touch. Mmm? 3. Crashes? Relative. 4. Windows? Gates? Life without walls? Soooo cool. 5. COLLEGE 6. Yes, you could. 7. Relative. 8. ? 9. You get English speaking representatives and can take it into an Apple Store and get a replacement on the spot. As long as you're covered by the 1 or 3 year warranty, the same as other companies. http://blog.alienwaresucks.com/ http://www.ihatedell.net/ http://www.hewlett-packard-sucks.com/ http://acersucks.wordpress.com/2006/03/15/ I would get the 2.0 and use the saved money on a 3rd party SSD, but I don't require much HDD space. Then again, the backlit keys are really enticing, even for a touch typist.

Conficker Worm
In Google type in "avg" if your browser doesn't crash or lead you to a disconnected page, you should be ok.

Conficker Worm
Just open up Windows Updates and search for new updates. Conficker strains are reported as the 2nd and 10th most detected on consumer desktops as of today.

Conficker Worm
It's not a major problem to us, if you can access http://www.microsoft.com, you're safe. If you're running any form of linux, you're basically 100% safe from the worm :D whataboutamac? Macs aren't important enough for them to target, it's not a broad-enough audience. All I need to do to kill my computer is type "killall -9 -1" in the terminal. laura might kill me over that statement. (is not a Mac fangirl)

I need someone to prove me wrong.
Uh, actually, we have models that help us conceptualise objects in four spatial dimensions. But we can only visualize in 2D, even with depth, the same concept as to why he was asking the question rather than why it does or doesn't exist.

I need someone to prove me wrong.
Well, yes that's why I put it there, but it also sounds like a cool dinosaur name. :D

I need someone to prove me wrong.
All hail Philosolaura Rex. Sounds better, no?

I need someone to prove me wrong.
How do we know a second dimension exists? Because we can easily imagine it on a piece of paper. What of third dimensions? Well, we know objects exist in three dimensions. What of fourth dimensions? We can't grasp time because we don't have the absence of time. In this case, we have a line but we cannot picture what a line is without being a line. My thoughts anyways.

Is a Macbook a good college laptop?
Probably an iBook or PowerBook G4 in including previous models.

Is a Macbook a good college laptop?
:P I was in the same exact boat as you, college and everything. And after filing a $20,000+ lawsuit against Dell I'd had enough of companies ripping me off. Anyways, I was deciding on the $999 white MacBook or the Rev A MacBook Air, but I took the more expensive route and went with the 2.4Ghz Aluminium MacBook. I must say, its elegance is subpar to none, the keyboard (chiclet style) is far easier to type on, and the MultiTouch trackpad is amazing. The display is better than the previous laptops I've had, but it comes short on viewing angles. The LED lighting does come on as fast as advertised and looks, from what I can tell, the same as an LCD. Another thing I noticed about the display is that you don't have to, when opening the notebook, hold the base of the laptop, it's minor, but it's something I found neat. As far as hardware goes, it's a speedy little machine. Boot time is faster than the Vista desktop I had from Dell, though for the record it was defective. The nVidia 9400M is a great integrated solution as far as I'm concerned and if you're looking at gaming, I can get 36FPS on Crysis in XP with lower settings; so it is playable. The 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo is fine, but the fasted CPU I've had was a quad core of the same clock speed. I'd suggest the 2.0 though, as benchmarks only show a 9% performance increase for what it's worth (I wanted the backlit keys). The 2GB of RAM is fine for me, a little limiting since I'm used to 6GB. The software is perhaps the best I've seen on a computer right out of the box; iLife is simply an amazing suit. If you're into photos, iPhoto does wonders with Faces and Places, both of which do their job well (facial recognition was a breeze and it easily found the locations of the pictures I took). iMovie is easier and more user friendly than MS Movie Maker as well as the addition of more in depth features. iWork is, to me, better than the Microsoft version in certain aspects, namely Keynote. I just made a 40 slide Keynote and it was far easier than on MS Office. The transitions flow smoothly and the sound effects actually work with the presentation. Pictures were easily imported, rotated with the trackpad, and cropped using the Alpha tool. Pages is my main gripe about iWork, lacking features I was used to in MS Office with less functionality. The little things got to me, namely not previewing the font or size as I scrolled over new aspects. I don't use Excel, so I can't comment on the Mac equivalent, Numbers. All in all, it's a great computer. And as you can probably tell, I do enjoy OS X more than Vista or XP (and 7 for that matter) though I do have XP partitioned on here. There is a slight learning curve when migrating from a Windows PC but it's easier once you get the hang of it. For college, the only difficulty I had was using the CDs issued with the textbooks, but who uses those anyways? :P As many people will point out, Macs are expensive. But to me, that was justified with English speaking representatives alone. I'm not going to sit here and preach to you like a fanboy or whatever, but this laptop is amazing and I'm glad I paid what I did for it. If you'd like to have any other information all you have to do is ask. ;) I also might add that refurb products get their battery swapped out, the defective part, and the outer shell replaced. It could be worth it to go with a refurb and save. [hide=Pictures] [/hide] [hide=My post in another thread]2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 2GB DDR3 1066Mhz nVidia 9400M (which is better than the ATI 3450 I used to have) 250GB 5,400RPM (thinking of buying a 128GB SSD since the largest file on here is iTunes and the iPhone SDK. Perhaps after the price drops a bit more though.) The only thing I don't like about OS X so far is Pages. I found the MS Office "ribbon" intimidating even after two years of use (everyday) but I could manage to do so much more. Pages is too straight forward, if that makes sense. Keynote seems a lot easier than Powerpoint and the transitions are superior. Whenever people used Powerpoint's transitions and sound effects when presenting, I'd laugh, simply at how cheesy they were. Numbers/Excel I can't comment on because I've never used either. Zooming in/out in the trackpad is annoying in Safari Beta 4 because it resizes the font and it's difficult to get back to normal. Having no maximize button is hard to get used to; it just seems like wasted space. Anyways, even after two days, I'm glad to have bought a Mac despite the cost.[/hide]

Well, what I meant is, you can find a better one from the Logitech website for less. Sorry.

PETA Kills 95% of Adoptable Pets in it's Care.
I don't exactly like PETA, but 95% seems reasonable given the current adoption status. Tragic, but true.

what operating system do you use!!
Here's how you solve your problem. You can: a) Disable User Account Control from the control panel (And open a HUGE security hole in your system) or B) Convince Microsoft to rewrite how Windows works so that it knows who started the action. Which still opens a hole. Other operating systems have done more or less the same thing, for example Linux. (With sudo, for example) It's a good practice and adds a lot of security. And seriously, how hard is it in Windows to just click the continue button? In most Linux distros I know of you have to type in your password even if you are an administrative account, and with other distros (Like Debian) you have to type in the root password. (By default anyway, it can be changed) Unless you're using the root account for whatever stupid and securicidal reason. I found it extremely annoying, mainly because of its implementation. For example, I'll download something and afterwards click "Run." At which point I am prompted with UAC box that makes me click something again, nearly ten seconds after I clicked "Run." But I usually multitask and have the installation minimized, if so, the UAC doesn't pop up or blanket my screen, it makes another window. And to my frustration, my installation is not complete because UAC didn't notify me correctly. I'm glad Windows 7 fixes some of this with the user control settings. I understand it's only a simple security measure but it gets old, real fast.

Tips on Moving
I've moved every two years (Army brat), and I have to say that you can't really prepare yourself for it. I planned out everything ahead of time and it was nothing like what I expected. The best advice is from Nike, "Just Do It." You'll be fine. :

what you wear?
The question assumes that I wear clothes. I go to the commissary to buy my clothing articles. I find that Saran wrap is much better than cotton. Alright, all kidding aside, I shop online.

Are animals intelligent?
Some animals are by far more intelligent than some of the people here. But anyways, I guess it's what you define as "intelligent," as I've seen dolphins communicate to humans by underwater buttons which light up.

New question about monitor/keyboard etc. costs
I second that, I just filed a lawsuit for $20,955.83 against Dell for scamming me and purposely ignoring fundamental issues plaguing an entire computer model. Microsoft Works doesn't contain much, it's basically a dumbed down version of MS- a basic word processor, spreadsheet, and calendar function. Vista won't skin back to XP by itself, though it can go to 98 or thereabouts. If you want XP you'd have to download a theme pack from various sites that allow you to skin Vista. Any mouse they sell is probably crap, go for something like a Logitech mouse. Oh and McAfee isn't all to good of an antivirus, I'd go with something like Avira Free.

14-year old sex offender
She's not a sexual offender in any way - legal or otherwise, because the law is simply faulty here. Those laws were set to protect children from exploitation by adults. And furthermore, there's nothing less than a sexual offender that is severe enough to compel anyone to stop their acts. If anything, a new law should be set as a median between no action and sexual offenses. But what really needs to be done is parental counseling and involvement. If I was 14, I'd be far more concerned about getting my phone taken away then status of "sexual offender." Something needs to be done, that's for sure, but it should not be to label a 14 year old girl a sex offender for the rest of her life when she can barely contemplate right from wrong.

Should I get an HDTV or PC Monitor?
I bought and liked this monitor. Full 1080P is great, especially since I don't own a TV.
