You obviously haven't treid hard enough; you can make a triangle out of two obtuse angles. :P
  2. But we know it exists, which is the whole point. Why does that, or would that, affect you?
  3. I don't like the tiered plans because they usually lead to variable pricing that is far more expensive than a uniform plan. It sits nicely where it is, in between the users that use little bandwidth and those that use a lot. I think I read somewhere that like 10% of users account for 90% of the bandwidth though. If you want a cheap capped service, go with a mobile phone company.
  4. Money, in my opinion, should never be a factor that limits your education. The money is out there, you just have to look. I'm sure you could contact Jagex, say that you will work for X amount of years if they pay for Y amount of cash/years. Heck, I know in the U.S. you can get a scholarship just for being left handed or a minority, even being a vegetarian qualifies you. Food companies, drug companies, car manufacturers also give them out; I got one from Ford and Tylenol. Being in the computer industry is a very profitable and highly sought job market. Again, don't let money be the biggest concern when you look for schools.
  5. If it doesn't have functions for higher levels of thought, then it obviously doesn't know it exists. What's the harm then?
  6. If you had to carry around a ten pound plant in your body for nine months and go into labour for half a day just to get it out I think you'd want to keep that plant for awhile and not just toss it in the trash at first sight. Let the lady think things through.. you obviously aren't putting yourself in her shoes or you wouldn't be so quick to judge. I agree. To her, this is the work of God purely keeping this child alive. More so because statistically this child was supposed to die after death. If the doctors missed and denied as much as she says, I'm wondering what else was missed. Sure, this child will never be capable of higher thought but it's still a human. Casting it away after the mother has developed such a bond is and would be very difficult.
  7. I've heard the opposite, just that Swansea is a bit of a dump. Turns out you have to have been living in the UK for 3 years before you can gain any financial support from the government for University studies. At least that's what I understood when I applied for student finance for my second year. Here's a link to information about being an international student in the UK: http://www.ukcisa.org.uk/student/fees_s ... upport.php There are ways around it. I just moved and I got a full ride from the United States government and military. I was promised this money considering that I complete the education I stated and went back to the United States to work for the Army for a minimum of 15 years. I pretty much have my life planned out until I'm 55.
  8. Ok, thank you very much!
  9. that melted my brain a little anyone else inspired to see if we can confuse an animal now? You can. animals get confused all the time. Just look at his avatar. :P
  10. I understand now, thank you. So buying a new router would be pointless as far as speed is concerned? Considering now that my router isn't the "smallest pipe."
  11. This is just in general. I have never experienced speeds over ~5mb/s.
  12. Speedtest.net says that I can get to 17MB/s. Yet, when downloading files online, I find them horribly slow at around 500kb/s. Why is this occurring? What determines the speed once it reaches my computer? Does having a 2.4Ghz frequency (with 2.4Ghz phones) on 802.11g bottleneck this usage? Would upgrading to 802.11n (and having a frequency without interference) increase my real-life download speeds (comparable to the 500kb/s I'm getting now)?
  13. Though I myself am not religious, it's nice to see that her beliefs keep her going. One of the pictures on Wikipedia is labeled wrong.
  14. [hide=][/hide] Cower in fear. From the crusty fish lips maybe. :P
  15. I'm assuming that is in his price range, and if it is, those specs are terrible. 2g of ram and a 160g hdd? They are starting to come out with 6 gigs of ram and 500 gig hdd, for about 1000 euros(at least in America) If you buy a computer with 2 g and 160 it will be considered obsolete in a year, especially since the new windows should be out by then. If all he wants to do is play RSHD, perhaps not. I couldn't find many 17" laptops with decent specs on UK sites within his price range, but then again, I haven't much experience with them. RAM shouldn't be too big of an issue here with a 512MB GPU. I agree however that the specs are quite weak. EDIT: forgot to add the link in the above post. :P
  16. I asked a question earlier today, somewhat relevant to the lecture. At which time, heads turned back and I received a blank stare that came from the front of the hall. It wasn't so much of a 'what-is-the-point' stare but rather a 'why-should-I-know/care' look. Which strayed me even further off of the topic and I sat there typing away about the situation and why I thought so much about it. I have concluded to end the thought of the situation with a question: "Is the quest/attainment of knowledge irrational if other think of you as a fool?" Considering the value of knowledge, I would assume not. Yet why is it treated as such? I can name numerous times back in High School when other classmates gave me bewildered looks, probably feeling that I knew too much about the subject. Straying from knowledge, I think of all the irrationalities in the world, the unjustifiable and immoral events that go on everyday. The demeaning of someone's character as a basis for our self esteem. Purposely ignoring laws set by society as if one if higher than the law. Rape, murder and torture. The list goes on. I find the reason for me living is to rationalize the irrational. Yet, I cannot fathom the purpose behind actions such as these. Is it in our nature? Have you ever thought something near similar? What other actions do you find unjustifiable, immoral, or illogical?

A search of the router pulled up similar results as well. 1 2 You can use this online tool to determine your ISP. Sorry I can't help in any other way. I've had my fair share of router issues but none like that. Is there any new firmware for your router?
  18. UK is bit more expensive it seems. But here's a link to MicroDirect with a 17" desktop replacement notebook. It's worth noting that 17" at this price is a marketing gimmick to make customers feel as if you're getting a good deal. However, this resolution is subpar nearly hitting the resolution on my 13.3" notebook. In any case, to get a decent screen on a 17", you're going to have to shell out far more cash. In any case: 2.2Ghz Turion X2 17" Mobile 3450 with 512GB dedicated memory (I would call MicroDirect beforehand to double check. I had to Google the computer model to find the GPU.) 160GB HDD 2Gb? RAM You could get a smaller inch screen and get far better performance.
  19. Good luck finding someone on these forums who will help you now. We don't encourage stealing.

    I'll refrain from asking. :P
  21. I would consider that studying habit actually. Turn your professors lectures into rap lyrics. Sorry I can't be of more help, but hey, if you can't beat it, you might as well use it.
  22. I just filed at 20,000+ lawsuit with Dell. So as you might understand, I will be a little biased towards Dell. :P Just remember: you get what you pay for.
  23. I'm pretty sure that it only works as an output for the laptop itself; you can't use it as a video input. In most cases, you can only display laptops video using a projector, TV, or monitor. If you would like a video input for the laptop you could always buy a USB TV Tuner input box though.
  24. USB to TV Tuners are pretty cheap now-a-days. Are any of those 64-bit compatible?
  25. I agree. This seems like the best solutions as it gives you horsepower from the desktop, with a long battery life from the netbook. The laptop littleboy recommended seems nice but I think it's going to cripple you, especially since you're looking for a new computer. Here's a popular little HP laptop. $999 gets you: 2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo 4Gb of RAM 13" diagonal and 1.5" thick 512MB GPU (dedicated) or up to 2GB shared An HDMI port (which I personally find nice, since I don't have a TV) Hypothetical 4 hours of battery 320GB HDD @5,400RPM And only 5lbs (I was actually considering the MacBook Air for college - weight is important to me.)
