That isn't a problem meant to be solved. It was designed that way. It's always been that way. Was one of the points of the random.

Whats with this? (afk'ing on spiders)
Me_Hate_Libs replied to miracleman58's topic in General Discussion
Actually, I did. I think a combat timer is simpler and more effective. -
Monkey Madness was the first quest that has a monster that could attack you with both mage and melee. I remember how mad people were that they couldn't just pray the thing.

Well, we'll see how long it takes for them to release them all. The Postbag 2 months before the last one had a thing for a new Myreque quest, wonder what ever happened to that one. :|

10th August 2009 - Fur 'n' Seek (and Patch Notes)
Me_Hate_Libs replied to Kirderf123's topic in General Discussion
This is exactly how I feel. I think all of these could be great diversions. (I love the circus, for example.) But I don't do any of these because I can do better by simply training the skills normally. I do the circus every week because the xp cannot be matched in the same time anywhere else. (I particularly like the agility, which is a huge pain to train.) Surely Jagex could calculate a normal training rate of xp and give these just a slight boost over the norm? I suppose that Bork is supposed to be done for the blue charms, and maybe he's good for that for a lot of people, but I get more blue charms than I can use from ordinary slayer tasks. It's good for the charms or the exp. But both are pretty sweet considering it takes me all of 5 minutes to do. And circus is awesome. And no, I wouldn't use the word "happy." I just find it entertaining, though not nearly as entertaining as how much it seems to bother everyone else that their is someone who doesn't blindly tell them how great the game is and they can't just dismiss me as a troll or something. -

I just noticed that you feel the need to whine continuously. Got a bit frustrated with Jagex? Or you just have nothing better to do than whine about an internet game all day? It's not really whining. I'm a curmudgeon. I make jokes. I play the pessimist bit. I denigrate myself and others. I don't feel the need to do it. I enjoy doing it. I'm not frustrated with them. I just don't particularly agree with where they're taking the game at the moment. I don't really care. I'm not bothered by it. And oh yeah, It's not all day and it's like 3 days a week that I'm on here. I have a life. I can't spend all my time on here telling Jagex how great they are and blowing up up their [wagon] like you. But if I'm honest, I'd still much rather be a whiner than a mark like you. -

It's like this. If I go to work, and take an hour off for lunch, I'm still getting paid. I should clock out ainsce I'm not working, but if I don't clock out, I still get paid. As long as I don't clock out and don't get caught, I'll still keep getting paid. If I get caught, I'll get reprimanded. So to avoid that, I should clock out. -
how can you afk switch between guthan and whip? Check every 30 seconds. Heal when HP drops to 50-60. Eh, I wouldn't consider that to be AFKing. I'd say AFK should be at least a minute for it to count.

Whats the best way to train crafting?
Me_Hate_Libs replied to wordsofthelord's topic in Help and Advice
Silver is still pretty decent exp. Just gotta take the time to mine the silver. -
When they were first released, they weren't worth anything. They were not released. The ability to make them was release. After they were available to be created, you had have to wait until Bluerose got her smithing skill high enough make them. Then she sold them for millions.

I think that Jagex kind of values storyline and the actual development of the quest more than the playability and enjoyment for factor for actually doing the quest. Here's the rub. Jagex has done quests. They have done them brilliantly in the past. They're pretty much over them. They want to spend all their time on new things that probably excite them more. Their giant projects which in the past have been WGS and Construction have now moved on to Mobilising Armies and things like that. If I had to guess, MMG is much more into minigames and things like that more than quests and skills.
-
They really shouldn't have waited so long on it. I mean, f2p still doesn't have an amulet that specializes in ranging. That little black mask for slaying would've been better and also would've been more logical. Ranging amulet would've been a better idea for a new drop to be implemented for f2p.

This was established on the first few pages. From the last few pages it didn't seem like anyone was paying attention then. I guess I'll say that I wished to re-establish the point since it seemed to have been overlooked. Maybe magic will be split into two type of Magic? Combat and noncombat. I mean, it is a bit dumb. "I just alched 18,000 longbows. This have taught me how to stop you from teleporting and how to freeze you." Oh, and when you see someone doing it for 24 hours straight, kind of a dead give away. And also, *affecting* with an a, not an e. -

Oh, I like the update. I like the quest. I like the wishlist. I even like the monster being difficult to kill. Granted the quest wasn't particularly original, but meh. I'm just saying the exp reward for killing the monster is lame. And now I'm going to make needling little jokes about it. If you don't like it, let me assure you, I absolutely don't care. Have a nice day. \ -

I was wrong. This is Jagex just being more efficient. All their new updates come pre-nerfed. Saves them the time of doing it later. ;) -
Poll: Which language do you play in?
Me_Hate_Libs replied to Cowman_133's topic in General Discussion
English. Well, until they finally give me a server where I can speak Swahili. I'm kidding though. Jagex doesn't make too many languages for their game or anything. I'm sure we'll get loads of better updates once they finally finish making RS in Sanskrit. :geek: -

Me_Hate_Libs replied to Kirderf123's topic in General Discussion
I agree it needs to be nerfed upwards a bit. If you compare the levels need, a time used to unlock it comapred to the Jade Vine is definitely harder to unlock. Then look at the fact it's alot stronger than the Jade Vine to fight. But Then the Jade Vine gives like 2k(?) slayer xp and is daily where as this only gives 1250xp a week. Forgive me for maybe sounding stupid, but how do we know what the weekly exp rewards will be? I didn't see it anywhere in the manual. Did Jagex say somewhere what the rewards will be? [/hide] http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... tal_horror Every time you defeat it after the first will award you with 1,250 Slayer XP and 1,000 Prayer XP. To make it easier on your legs, after completing Fur 'n' Seek, he'll even enchant your bonesack or ram skull helm, giving it slightly better stats and the ability to teleport you to his shack, once per rebuild. It's an awful reward, but at least we don't have to walk there. Way to go. *sigh* -.- -

Me_Hate_Libs replied to Kirderf123's topic in General Discussion
Oh okay, didn't see that. Vine gives 2.5k exp per kill. This gives half and can only be done once a week. Okay, now I'm sure I'll be blasted as a complainer for criticizing Jagex, but here goes anyway: Why the hell should this need fixing in the first place? How in God's name couldn't they get this even remotely right the first time? Emilee, who I honestly feel bad for because she's gotta take the heat and relay this to this guys in charge, shouldn't have to even discuss this with them. Doesn't any of their programmers remember how much exp the Jade Vine gives? How does this get by them? I have to ask this... after he left office in Jan.20th , did Geroge W. Bush take a 2 week vacation, then take over Runescape on Feb. 2nd? I mean, how do we know that picture of MMG is really him? Or if GWB wearing a very clever disguise? #-o -
Yeah, and it's pretty much a carbon copy of the first quest. Oh and we got no update last week. Oh right, I forgot. I'm a crybaby and a complainer because I criticize Jagex and point out their flaws. My bad. -.-

No, people just don't like that they can't use prayer against them. Actually have to eat food and pay attention. I find their ability of dropping a random skill 1 point every time they inflict damage to be very negligible as well. Oh no, they dropped my crafting from 77 to 71, what will I ever do?! :x

When people say AFK, they mean Away From Keyboard and they mean it *literally*. We're not talking about people who have several windows going and are swtiching between them. We mean people who get up, walk away from the keyboard, and do other things. Being AFK isn't an immoral thing. If you go get a soda, take a leak, what have you, that isn't a bad thing. But when you go through methods to bypass the auto logout timer, this is when you're breaking a rule and being AFK in a bad way. Do we all understand this now? -
Yeah, I have Irons and Steels blocked. I might unlock Irons. I did the wish list for Fur n Seek yesterday and find I can kill Irons a lot easier than I used to, and no one really goes after them. Scabarites are easy in the flat pyramid north of Nardah, south of Uzer. And Goraks due to their hyperactive aggression I find I can mow through them quickly. Maybe not great exp, but 15 slayer point in half an hour isn't too bad either.
-
I don't have a pic as it happened around a year ago, but on one Lesser Demon kill I received a challenge scroll as well as half key drop on same kill. Not that half keys are all that rare, but I do believe it counts as a "rare" drop from a Lesser.

Um, no. This isn't the real world. This is a fake world being run on servers by real people. And as it's Jagex's game that they have developed, and run on servers which they own and operate. My point is that as it's their game, they can ban you for any reason they choose fit. Fair or otherwise. Granted if they did it for unfair reasons they would develop a reptuation and ultimately their game and de facto their pocketbooks would suffer. So while it is not in their best interest to ban people unfairly, they have every right to do it. Granted this has nothing to do with the topic being discussed, but setting you straight. :ugeek:
