Because a model can be good, while the handling, development, release, marketing, etc can all be flawed. I remember my friend playing Everquest around 2002, right around when I started on RS. It was cool. Popular too I think. So I don't really remember EQ2 and when it hit the skids.

Really? The highest requirement for melee armor and weapons is 78, with pvp stuff. 78 is the highest armor in the game. Get 78 and you can wear the best of the best. Why should they skip 78-99 then? Because when you said 99-126, I thought you were talking about combat levels, not specific skill levels of attack, defense, strength, mage, range, etc. My bad. :oops:

I believe the problem with that and the whole 200 mill exp thing has to do with the limit on Java coding.

Not surprised to see that you are once again ranting about Runescape. Well honestly now, another week without even a stupid, little upgrayedd. I don't even have members now and I find this to be absurd. All their promises of the great things that are coming and nothing. I wasn't even ranting. And isn't this a Rants forum so that you can rant about Runescape? I don't think this is the Debate forum as so many others seem to confuse it for. I'll put it like this though. I'll stop ranting when they stop sucking. #-o Well, not a day goes by without you complaining about RS on the forums. Perhaps it's time to go back to WoW. I played RS for 6 1/2 years before I even tried WoW. I found it to be a one dimensional game. And I often go for more than a day without complaining. Those are the days I'm not here posting. Having a life and whatnot. And I complain once, then keep talking as the thread moves on which usually people group in with more complaining. But then again, if I like good content, medium-long quests, and don't like these false updates that are known at upgrades, wouldn't you imagine that I'd be complaining a lot.

And Runescape was hear long before WoW. WoW is also a very one dimensional game IMO. Most games copy it's combat aspect and round out the rest of the games themselves.

MA sucked. No other way to put it. Bounty worlds are weak at best and a total mess at worst. Tracking was a needed and deserving upgrade. Rest was a good update, though wasn't a big one. Was big in the impact sense, not in the size sense. Quests have all been short. Way too short. Soul Wars had an overly basic concept and an unoriginal one at that. 2009 will be considered a low point in Runescape when all is said and done. -edit- Quelmotz, have Jagex ever done anything that you disagreed with or criticized?

They have loads of content for level 60-99s. That stuff is getting old. High level content is still desperately needed.

For the average player yes. Been playing for 7 years and still no 99s. Still though tons of people who'd love to take their levels up higher.

I'd say limit your questing time to half of your playable time during the day, at a max of 4 hours. I can understnd the frustration of spending hours doing quests, and not having gained many levels against the exp you could've gotten spending that time training a skill.

I usually only talked about it on relevant topics, or unless the thread had gone off topic on that subject. I didn't mention it in every post just to get it in there. Well, not all the time. Sometimes my frustration would boil over a little. Luckily I have a whole week free to come up with ways to complain. Not like I'm busy enjoying an update or anything. :roll:

Personally, I'd prioritize the quest lines like Fairy Tales and Elemental Worshop could get their finishes, that simply need that one last quest to finish. Then the ones that have the most quests in them. Myreque, Plague City, Mahjarrat, and the whole desert expansion quests. Then the little stuff they want to continue, like Rabid Jack and the Dwarves.

This is going to be very short considering the length of the great debate posts being made. But can we all agree that Jagex is notorious for not admitting fault or their shortcomings? It was much worse in the past, but they still try to put over on people that if something goes wrong, it's the player's fault. They also tend to rewrite history a bit.

Yea... no. It'll be something small. Don't bother getting your hopes up. But on another note it's nice to know it onlly took months for most people to come around to what I was thnking the week after the "upgrayedd" year was announced. And bob, yeah, mostly every week. Problem is half, or maybe a bit more than half, are updates and upgrades to pre-existing content that many of us have done and are done with. Some are good, some are less than stellar. So while we get constant updates, it feels like we're getting next to nothing. It's very hard to keep taking this. I've already let my membership lapse until 2010 at a minimum. I fear though that 4 months of content being built up will be done is about 3 days once I pay up again. Oh wait, I'm complaining. Therefore my opinions are that of a whiner, have no merit, and can be dismissed without further consideration. Sorry, I forget. :oops:

I don't think Jagex is "lazy" or they "don't care." I still think that the QA isn't meeting up to past standards as far as bugs are concerned. Personally, I think the game needs to be stalled for a bit and take it back down to code to rework it. It's far too complex and a giant jumble right now. That would be the biggest upgrade we've ever seen. :P

Makato, I'd like to point something out again. Runescape is special because you can vote with your dollar while not quitting the game. If half a mill people let their subscription lapse, but still play the free game, they'd be accomplishing both.

Why in the world were either of you there in the first place?

I don't know if I've told this before, but I met my wife on RS. In the Underground Pass on classic. She was from Brazil and moved in with her sister, on the other side of Tampa Bay, about 2 years later. Nowadays I have a girlfriend that complains about me playing. Oy vey. :wall:
