Dragonkin: After the Rise of Lucien
Me_Hate_Libs replied to Psycho_Robot's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, that was discovered quite a while back. I don't expect you to read 50 pages, but it's been known for a while. -
I don't want to quit the game. I want them to perform as well as they did 2-3 years ago. And my first post was funny, even if you didn't find it that humorous. I'll stop complaining when they can do something well without having it be completely ruined by something else with it. I didn't complain about last week's quest. I rather liked it. A touch unoriginal, but still very good. Hey Jagex, thanks for this week's -edit- Wolf, love the update  , hate the bugs.

... You know, on second thought, perhaps today there shouldn't have been an update. Like clockwork, here comes sarcastic, spoiled players expecting everything to be bug free 100% of the time. Even though this update is good, keeping trolls silent is so much better... How am I a troll? I use proper spelling, grammar, punctuation. I try to be light about it. I try to put in a little bit of humor. Yet I'm still a troll? Is that because I have the gall to actually criticize Jagex? Should I just kneel down and tell them how great they are all the time like you? Sarcastic? Yes. Spoiled? If playing this game for years and being used to Jagex actually making good updates that aren't ruined by a string of bugs, then yeah, I'm spoiled too. Is the update good? Yes. Is the quality of the update tarnished by the plethora of bugs that are ruining it? You damn skippy hippie. Maybe it's my fault. Maybe after playing the game for years, I shouldn't bother holding Jagex to any sort of standard. It's my problem for enjoying the game in the past and hoping to enjoy it in the future. Don't use asterisks to evade the censor ~assassin

10th August 2009 - Fur 'n' Seek (and Patch Notes)

No, they're aren't. They said they are not changing the exp reward and nothing else. It wasn't meant to be a D&D. I'm... confused. The way you worded that's a bit funny. Are you saying that they're not changing the experience and the thing drops nothing else or that all they've said is that they're not changing the experience? Either way, that sucks. Yes, I did word it poorly. They are not changing the exp reward nor are you going to rewarded anything else. It's just a thing to kill once a week. :wall: It just sucks. It took me four hours that day, and 4 tries of killing Bork to complete it  It does kinda suck, but it looks like the reward for completing the wishlist was the exp you got for it. The horror is just a little something extra, much like a hemorroid. -
[Special Edition] Tip.It Times: 16 Aug 2009 - Quests!

I know of the Fairy tale and Red axe ones being worked out obviously since they have diaries. Also, the last Chaos Elemental mentioned a Myreque quest, that never came, along with the fairy, that has yet to come. So, if these follow that same pattern, and the fairy tale and Myreque come out before them, then red axe and fairy tale will be around Winter, with workshop and Elves around 2010. Oh joy. -edit- God how I miss the BTS. -

That too, but I knew it would suck because I knew it would even be a good RTS game. They may not be my thing, but I can appreciate one if it's done well. I knew that this was too far beyond Jagex and should never have been done.

Sorry, but in addition to 2009 being the RS upgrade year, it is also the year of the 30 minute quest. -

Saradomin I imagine. Plus Robert was never fire breathed, just fire waved. And Robert was badass before we had protection prayers. -
Pictures of those TIFers! ~All NEW!~

Yeah, I haven't been sniped either, but probably because no one really remembers my RS name. That just think, "OH, it's Libs. I wonder what he's complaining about now?" : Oh, and if you were actually wondering, it is making pancakes and then realizing you're out of syrup. Damn! -.- -

*was Not anymore. Now you can trap him in a room. He could kill a Dragonkin, now he can't even open a door. -

I have trouble thinking of quest lines that don't have new updates on the horizon. New installments of Elemental Workshop, Plague City, Red Axe, Myreque, Mahjarrat, Fremennik, and Fairy Tale are all known to be in development. And all the new quests this year (except In Pyre Need, which was a holdout from last year, and is more of a D&D than a quest anyway) have contributed to existing storylines, even if only tying up a few little loose ends like curing King Vargas's curse or finding out what's in the mumbling bonesack. So I think Jagex is going in the right direction. Quite a few aren't in development. Plauge City doesn't have one any time soon. I know people think it is, but it's not. The Pirate/Rabid Jack isn't in dvelopment. Penguin just had one, so it's on backburner for a bit. The desert stuff looks kinda soft. Unless tied into Mahjarrat, which is may a little, but I doubt it. Still can't get into Menaphos. Lunar Isle looks like it had more coming, but doesn't look like anytime soon. Elemental Workshop? Maybe, but I haven't heard anyone from Jagex even mention it, let alone them say they are developing it. Aprosandra, only if it's tied into the dwarves would this be considered devloped. Oh yeah, still no Archeron, or however it's spelled. The History line. Slug got tied into penguins, so they have been merged. I don't know if it's technically a quest line, but I really want a new troll quest. -

Maybe that kin that Robert the Strong killed was a really weak one. Like the Jhallan od Dragonkin? -
I don't think you could include the f2p items. A lot of the drag items require quests to wield them, and many people would simply buy them and mule them over to f2p for a nominal fee. Longsowrd and Schims would be like 125-150k, maybe.
-
Face it, no one plays the game because it sucks. All that time for that hunk of junk. I knew it before it was even released.
-
Actually, it is. This is the way I saw it explained by someone else... A common practice for programmers is to use only single digits instead of decimals for experience, i.e. 1 xp=0.01 xp when they are coding. So the java limit of 2.1b stops this. It's only 200m instead of the actual max is for aesthetic purposes. Yeah, that was probably a little confusing. And that's something they can't solve? They can make an entire new game, but can't work out decimal point? Ouch.
-
I think it took at least a full minute before they would trnasform or start attacking you. So unless you were at the KQ, you'd have plenty of time on them.
-
I don't think raising the exp cap from 200 to 300 million would be all that complicated. It could be, but I don't think so.
-
In my own mind, through my experiences with treasure trails since they were first introduced, they absolutely have had the amount of rare stuff they give out nerfed to very low levels. Regardless of the junk in it, you get very little compared to 2 years ago. Is there still luck in it? Yes. It is completely random? Hardly. For one thing, coins, runes, and anything like that should never have been put in the rewards.
-
Yes, but they'd introduced harder bosses, better equipment, etc. People wouldn't be so worried about the prices of Godswords if lvl 80+ equipment came out.
-
Just because a quest can be done by low levels doesn't mean it needs to made short. Digsite is a low level quest with quite a bit to do in it. Tale of the Muspah was the same thing. Everything below level 12 or whatever it was, but gave me 2 hours of something to do. It seems like most questers are over their short little quests, despite level requirements for it.
