  1. You have 70 slayer. I have 94 slayer. I think I know what I'm talking about. Agreed. I love slayer, but pure slayer is terrible gp/hour. Camping will always beat pure slayer. Still, it is worth getting to at least 85 IMO. Well, remember to day your tasks. Buy battlestaves, do herb runs, etc. If you can, green dragons are anywhere from decent to awesome cash. If you want to range, and can use ogre enclave, ranging blues is decent, although less gp.
  2. My latest project is to rebalance and update a minigame I am quite fond of: Impetuous Impulses. It’s a fun piece of content for the drops it can offer (ah, the thrill of spotting the vivid orange of a dragon impling!), but sadly isn’t so rewarding XP-wise. So what’s the core of this update? First we’d like to make the Hunter experience earned a bit more rewarding so that you have the satisfaction of gaining XP as well as the drops. Then we’d also like to give high-level hunters a few new implings to hunt. We have a few other things in store for this update, too, but what would be the fun if you knew everything in advance? :) I’ll also keep a veil of mystery over the theme, level and drop tables of our latest impling additions for now, and instead will focus on the bigger challenge of this project: how do we go about rebalancing XP values in the game? It’s a bit more complicated than picking a number at random and hoping it’ll work okay. There are many parameters to take into account to try to come up with the best value. The first thing to do is to assess what we currently have. That involves evaluating, from the numbers in the code, how many of each impling spawns on average in Puro-Puro and on RuneScape's surface, and what the average value of their drops is. Then we need to have a good idea of how much experience a player is getting already when playing the minigame, because even though we know how many of each impling there are, on average, in the maze at any one time, we do not know how easy they are to catch. We do this via time trials. Basically, some members of the QA team will diligently play through the minigame for a certain amount of time, catching certain types of impling and making notes of how much XP and what drops they are getting. After a few attempts at each level, we calculate the average XP rate per level. This will be our base rate for the improvement. But we wouldn’t want the XP to be too generous. Yes, I suppose some of you would like it to be too generous, but think what would happen if it was: the once peaceful minigame would become a training area, and while I do appreciate the game for the drops (and the thrill of using one of the mysterious crop circles), I don’t think it would be anywhere near as fun if I had to catch as many implings as possible and throw away the drops for the sake of XP. We can still make the XP fairly nice, though, but to know exactly what our limit is, we need to know how much XP a player can gain when training Hunter normally. With the help of some more time trials, we evaluate how much XP per minute can be gained when hunting other hunter creatures like salamanders or chinchompas. That is a lot of info to compute, so we use tables to sort it all out and represent it using pretty curves. Now that we know the existing impling XP rate and the best Hunter training rate drawn on our graph, we have the boundaries of our new curve! The rest is a bit like cooking. You determine a base curve that sits between the existing impling XP rate and best Hunter XP rate. You throw in a pinch of level requirement, one or two spoons of spawn repartition and maybe powder a bit of drop value on top. You mix, the curve wiggles a bit up and down as it gives more XP to rarer or less generous implings, then you season it until it looks good. Ta-da! You have once nice rebalance! The last step is to time trial that a bit too, to see if it tastes any better. Hopefully, the result will be satisfying without upsetting the game's balance (else Guthix wouldn’t be best pleased). Mod Maylea. Personally, I am loving the sound of this. I love playing Impy Impulses :P, and I might have more motivation to train hunter now, with possibly even higher imps to catch. (Barrows Imps, rare like the rock patriach, and only spawning in the Barrows/swamp area please?)
  3. Very few, if any main players on TIF complained about the pots in PVP, those who did were pures, who didn't understand the combat level system. The potions were unfair in a PvP setting, they provided no visual indicator that you where using them. Every other thing that can give you a boost in combat is either visible to the other player (CMB level, items, eating, familar), or you can trade the item so anyone can use it. These fall in to neither of those category's. However, if they made you glow, or displayed an icon above your head then I would not see them as big of a problem. But you would still have to deal with weapons hitting over the max HP even if that was put in place. Ehh, very few low levels would have the herb levels. Also, I have a high prayer level, which means I have a disadvantage. Should prayer level not count after 70 prayer? You can dose prayer without missing a combat cycle also, so don't say that i have to dose less, as it is irrelevant.

  5. 4 sara brews with uni? grats nonetheless He is in welfare gear, that is why.
  6. If you say 99 prayer slowly, it sounds like gul lib ile.
  7. I dont think calc calculates spec attacks, does it?
  8. Honestly, do not bother doing Corpie if you can't cough up what, 5m? You will blow through so many supplies with such ill-equipped teammates, that it will not be worth it. There is no reasonable replacement for ZS, unless it is Vesta Spear. That said the 2nd best option is LBS+defender, although this is still terrible, and unless you are in void with 90+ melee's pietying and super potting you won't be hitting worth a damn.
  9. Actually, they are useless, for the most part. Extreme Attack, Strength, Defense, and Range face the same problem that Super Attack, Strength, Defense, and Mage do - they get negated by Saradomin Brews. Unless you are in a PvP situation rather than PvM (competing with a crashing team for kills, versus just killing the boss alone or with your team), forgoing stat boosting potions altogether and just bringing more prayer / healing will get you more kills in the same amount of time, once you factor the time delving through waterbirth, or killing 40 GWD monsters, getting your teams together, etc. Only when you expect to have to compete with another team were Super Potions really useful. But kill speed doesn't reduce the amount of time spent waiting for a spawn, or time spent preparing for the trip. Extreme Magic would be good, except Magic has never been a weapon-of-choice for bosses with exception of Dagannoth Rex. Dagannoth Rex exemplifies the same problems that plagues Super Attack/Strength/Defense/Range - killing faster doesn't speed of spawn time, so time per kill decreases only marginally. It doesn't help that runes have gone up in price... Besides those... Super Antifire is still good, but it was never PvP related in the first place (items that prevent dragonfire didn't block DFS or Dragon Bolts last I checked). Special Restore makes me laugh - not worth the space unless you're competing for kills. Extreme Prayer is good, but most of the time, Super Restore is better since it allows the use of Brews. Overload is good, but the periodic hp drop can be fatal if it happens at the wrong time, and the 50 hp recovered at the end may be wasted if it happens at the wrong time. Do you see a pattern here? Because I sure do - these potions are useful only in the PvP situations that Jagex failed to correct, such as FFA Corporeal Beast or GWD Bosses, or as substitutes for their Super counterparts in activities like slayer... where you really don't need the minor bonus anyways, and it's hardly worth the effort. Not if you have 88+ summoning. I almost never use sara brews when MHing, unless it is a small group/i'm tanking.
  10. Correct me if i am wrong but isn't it the fact that pvp drop items that can be converted into cash that is the real (part) of inflation? Sure 76king brought tons of that in, but pvp will only continue this right? No, you are right.
  11. I didn't complain, I just gave my opinion. He posted the link on the thread for a reason, if he wasn't ready for feedback then linking it was a bad idea. In general people don't appreciate rushing vids and so he didn't get any positive feedback, but it's just a game, I'm sure he'll survive the lack of appreciation. To each his own. If you want to honor PK, then do so. If you don't want to, then do not. In ancient times, men didn't even think twice about cutting an opponents throat. Later, it was considered dishonorable to kill even a defeated foe. Honor changes.
  12. Not much of a snipe. A snipe is more like when you only have 1-10th or less of the lsp-ge value of the item, eg 2m lsp snipping a sigil. But still an epic drop. :D
  13. He can also be put in the Holiday box. Feel kinda mean storing him away in a tight box full of clothing though. :P Not to be a Grammar Nazi or anything, but Eek is a girl Den. I didnt spell him wrong. :| In which case, you would be a gender nazi, not a grammer nazi. To which I shall edit my post! <3: You Den. Its grammar, not grammer den. I will be a grammar nazi. It's* :shame: :P someone noticed. I <3 sarcasm.

  15. you are thinking of getting d claws for 8m? Sorry, not a chance in hell. There will be no crash. Merchents/smart players will buy things cheap, and sell high. Just as the summer crash never happened.
  16. Banned for caring about Russia.
  17. I hate you for being pale English Jailbait!
  18. Honestly, I think that were well written from a grammatical standpoint, but from a literary standpoint they were rather boring, and did not say much. However, kudos for coming up with something in such a short time. Also, is it just me, or were all the quotation marks messed up? I don't think ' is used unless you are enclosing a quote within a quote. (E.G. "Well, Racheya said 'Don't forget a gallon of milk on the way home, even if you have to kill some zombie to get to the store.' and I don't want to make her mad.")
  19. Nice ownin mate inorite :D i could almost make a full length pvp vid of me dropping claws :D[/hide] Funny thing is that your video of me downing you for dclaws has more views than your 4th pk video. Anyways, you should really avoid pvp. First time you lost dclaws(to me) you got raped, good game, but the others were just plain stupid. ego? Meh bruno only speaks the truth. xD. n00b is just so pro at looosing claws its amazing. :) Perhaps n00b dies alot but bruno was being rude nonetheless. Until bruno actually starts pking rather than rushing level 110s whilst praying protect from melee constantly I don't think he should really be criticising anybody else's pking skills... But he does it soooo well. Agreed
  20. Silly boy. We ARE talking about Jagex after all. Who knows why they do what they do. Also, it could be old. TBH that makes it more likely that it is real, for who would make something like that now, and use the old icons. Unless OC it was faked along time ago and just now being let out.
  21. No. All but a few look very dumb. First post.
  22. TBH IDC how much time i've spent playing. If I wasn't playing RS, I'd be playing another game or reading, and I still read a copious amount.
  23. I can altar invy+tort with no problem. (41 bones). Sometimes my house hasn't reset when I come back, and I can do about another 10-20 bones before one goes out. Also, I can get altar around 1.1k bones an hour.
  24. ACP with V skirt is a good setup, and BSS is 2nd best to DFS where you need defense, better when you need to focus on getting higher mage/range bonus.
