  1. There are worlds set aside for runners, but the theory is that you have noted essence and cash and you pay/trade the noted essence for unnoted pure essence. In some cases you might get away with trading some of the law runes themselves and in some cases, you may be asked for it in trade. With the newer trade restrictions, it's not as lucrative or as costly, and so, it's not as desirable and in-demand. Worlds 66 and 99 are the "themed worlds", but I don't know how active they are.
  2. I might have instead suggested that if the person was making this submission in the future along with the other ones on separate threads, that combining all three into one large one might be better than the way it was done here.
  3. Posts by the crew (like this) convinced me to spend the money on the whip. I was a big proponent of the Dragon longsword before that (I like training on controlled). I IMMEDIATELY sold the D long after using the whip. There is a reason people talk about it so much. You will love it.
  4. I have good results with 9 maples and 6 coal, but you could change the coal to whatever else you wanted. The seeds you can get from MTK with the maples are sometimes worth more than the maples (which I sell in groups of 1000 for 36k-39k) and I wait to sell the coal in large batches, too. Raw fish and flax are okay, too...I guess.
  5. Fastest, runners. Next quickest, law tablets and some means of teleporting quickly to a bank Next quickest, balloon transport to Entrana, run to altar, teleport to Castle Wars with Ring of dueling, repeat from the balloon nearby once you bank and re-stock Next quickest, I don't know...maybe abyss?
  6. Since it didn't fit into the other categories, I decided to make a quick mention of something I noticed missing from the Tips section of the Desert Treasure quest page. You can buy an Ancient staff from Eblis after the quest for 80,000 gold, but only one time. If you lose it, you have to buy one on the GE or kill Mummies in the pyramid. Desert Treasure Ancient staff I noticed the item entry could use a bit of clarification. It's not wrong, but it's not immediately clear on first glance how you get the first one from the Location/Notes sections. I'd move most of the info into the notes section.
  7. Just one fight left in the Final Fight portion...the Culinaromancer himself. What kind of armour should I be wearing? I've read that he attacks with melee and a weak magic attack. I'm gonna use an abby whip and melee him, but should I wear the black d-hide stuff or go ahead and wear my best melee armour? I'm thinking this for a set-up: Range Defense: Helm> Helm of neitiznot Body> Rune platebody or Black dragonhide Legs> Rune platelegs or Black dragonhide chaps Gloves> Combat bracelet or Black [bleep]y vambraces Boots> Fremennik sea boots 3 Necklace> Amulet of glory Cape> Obsidian cape Ring> Beacon ring Shield> Dragon sq shield Weapon> Abyssal whip and Dragon dagger (p++) Any advice? (EDIT: Well, I decided to give it a try and teleport out if I had any trouble...he hardly hit me at all with the Rune armour on...I used up the DDP++ special bar and then whipped him the rest of the way. This post can be closed. I should have made an attempt first, I guess.)
  8. A busy couple of days has gotten me even closer to emptying my task lists of quests and side-quests and diaries and...well...everything else. Wouldn't you know it, but after getting another level, I reasoned that perhaps using the stew in the Seers' Village bank was preventing me from boosting to 80, so I walked outside and got a 6 point boost. I fletched the necessary magic shortbow in the bank and then a few extras for good measure, until the boost wore off. I now have the Seers headband 3 in my arsenal, and after taking down my Excalibur from my POH wall, I have the Enchanted excalibur thanks to a visit to the Lady of the Lake. Unfortunately, I can't re-mount the enchanted version of the sword, so I put up the Silverlight instead. I think the new Excalibur might actually be useful in combat anyway. [hide=Seers' Village Diary complete][/hide] After completing that diary, I was on a mission...the next one to fall would be the Varrock Diary, but that necessitated finishing a long-standing unfinished quest. It took most of the night, but I did manage to finish and after switching over to the Ancient Magicks spellbook, I was able to "home" teleport to Edgeville and...voila! Another diary done. [hide=Varrock Diary complete][/hide] Which left the Karamja Diary, so...well...you can probably guess what came next... [hide=Karamja Diary Complete][/hide] After completing the diaries and Desert Treasure, the Final Fight portion of the Recipe for Disaster quest became available and I just HAD to have those "Barrows" gloves... [hide=Finishing off the Culinaromancer...][/hide] It's both satisfying and saddening. I keep finishing off these big tasks and Jagex doesn't seem to be adding enough challenges that I can both take my time to complete and enjoy completing. I do still have a great number of tasks to complete, but the more I play, the less I have left that interests me. I have even contemplated spending a couple of months in F2P just to see if I like the game enough that way to continue paying a member fee. Silly, I know, but I like the "thrill of the hunt" as the saying goes, even if Hunter is actually one of my least favorite skills to level!
  9. I know it won't be satisfactory for upload as is, but I decided to mark up the existing Smoke Dungeon map for a couple of things I think are useful, but missing (and unfortunately, it's not one of the dungeon maps available in game). [hide=Smoke Dungeon][/hide] The green spots are where each Standing torch is located for completing the Desert Treasure - Fareed/Smoke Diamond portion of a quest (in order to get the Warm key in the chest). The yellow spot is where I walked in from the Pollnivneach Slayer Dungeon (a map that IS accessible in-game) and started lighting the torches. It was a lot easier starting to light there, then going north, then to the north-west one, then the south-west one, something that was possible because of my entrance through the Polly well after a dip in the Oo'glog pools (and made easier by the teleport to Sumona with the Ring of slaying). I know maps are a slow process, but I thought this would help get the ball rolling on an update. As usual, please let me know when I can delete this from the host. Perhaps the crew member working on it can download the picture for reference? Thanks. EDIT: Even though I didn't mark it, I think editing a spot in for the chest containing the warm key would be good, too. I knew where it was, but I think it would be useful and more complete that way.
  10. I completed this part of the quest this evening and I have to agree. His melee attack is devastating. I would alter the quest guide a little, something like this...
  11. There is a safe spot, as has been mentioned by other users. I confirmed it tonight. [hide=Damis safe spot][/hide]
  12. I decided to complete this quest tonight and tried this safe spot and it looks like I overprepared. I only needed enough food to be able to get all the beasts lined up behind that spot, which wasn't that much (I simply ran around "gathering" a following and then ran behind that spot and sure enough, I could mage Damis and kill both his forms without taking a single hit after getting to that safe spot). [hide=Damis safe spot][/hide] In my opinion, it's worth including in the guide, because anyone can use this with minimal preparation.
  13. I used this technique less than a month ago and it did work. I know Jagex removed some safe spots from the game recently, but I'm not sure if this was one of those specifically mentioned.
  14. I deleted the pic, but I'll see if I can reclaim it from the deleted images pile... I think this was it: [hide=Tirannwn location][/hide]
  15. I just use the Games necklace to get hear the HG and balloon transport from, say the Gnome Stronghold or Castle Wars to get to Taverly's dungeon area. Yes, the house is closer, but those aren't high traffic areas for me...
  16. ...not to mention, having the Explorer's Ring 3 would give you the ability to craft additional elemental runes each trip, so you'd already have the ring equipped, which would mean the teleporting would be slightly redundant (teleporting to the patch instead of from the altar to the center of town). You could use both teleports, but then you'd still be running to the altar...
  17. It's worth it if you like making mixes. It's not if you only want four dose potions. It's not worth buying the caviar later...very expensive.
  18. I know what you mean about a transportation hub. If you use the POH teleport spell and have set up two portal chambers and a mounted glory amulet, it probably doesn't matter too much where your house is located. It would be secondary, in my opinion. I have my house in Yanille and now have a teleport to that city which saves on a law rune. My Spirit Tree is in Port Sarim so that I can have a relatively short run from a free cabbage patch teleport to the tree network which leads to the balloon transport system and and run up the Grand Tree to the gliders and with the Ring of slaying, quick access to the Rellekka Slayer Dungeon fairy ring. I hadn't thought of moving the house to Rellekka, but really, for me, there is more going on in Yanille (with a daily visit to Pete for sand and the frequent Penguin sightings in the Yanille walls) and I usually use "C-I-P" to visit the Rellekka area, not to mention a free teleport with the Fremennik Sea Boots and a Lyre once-a-day.
  19. I think Jagex indicated something like that...recharge time depending on Agility level:
  20. Traps? If you were following the Tip.It guide, which step (number) are you stuck on?
  21. I would have to agree that people would find them useful. I wasn't even aware there was a limit, but Tip.It appropriate graphics like those shouldn't be dismissed just because some people have used their limit of emoticons or smilies. I wouldn't be surprised if that were to happen, however...
  22. I'm starting to like Tuesday, if for no other reason than Jagex updates. Even if I don't like the update content, I tend to like the fixes they implement. The run energy spots seem like fun additions. I was excited at the prospect of having further run capabilities, but it seems as if I can't run as far before needing a recharge, contrary to what Jagex says in the release notes. The new potions excite me, but at the same time, make me think Jagex is actually watching me play. It all of the sudden seems that when I'm going for new Crafting and Fletching skill levels, they release a new herb and potion. Curiously, they didn't make them barbarian "mix"-able, but that's fine, because I don't anticipate keeping stocks of them around. The herbs, yes. The potions themselves, no. Tears of Guthix put me up a level in Summoning and I decided to put a big portion of the Penguin Hide & Seek points toward the skill as well. I put the rest into the Hunter skill and probably will put them in that skill for the next few weeks, to help me toward 66 and the ability to wear a Spottier cape. Circus points boosted me to level 79 Magic, which means I have some work to do in order to level out my combat skills. I expect to level up the melee skills to level 78 soon, I need a lot of work on Ranged to get that on par with the others, Prayer is...untrainable with my attitude, but Hitpoints should be at level 80 before anything else. I advanced a level in Mining while coming across a Shooting Star, which happened to be nearby the place I was chopping yews in order to bank them for Fletching. Interestingly enough, I have my first level 81 skill as a result of the chopping. [hide=Woodcutting, Level 81][/hide] Next week's Tears of Guthix will put me over the level 60 plateau, or at least I expect it to do so. I'll try to remember to take a snapshot of it, especially since it will be a largely untrained skill (I have used pouches that I purchased and made three for a quest, earning experience in each instance). When I reach 1100 banked yew logs, I'll fletch my way to level 77 and the ability to fletch magic shortbows with potion assistance. I may try Spicy stews before then, but I did use 20 of them trying at level 74, but only got as close as level 79, a 5 point skill boost. If I manage to get the Seers' Village Diary completed, I'll complete Desert Treasure to finish off the Varrock Diary, then try and complete the Karamja Diary as well...in that order. If I don't, I'll probably try Haunted Mine (and Tarn's Diary) and The Path of Glouphrie. Saving quests doesn't seem as important now that I'm not concerned with helping the crew and focusing on my own gaming enjoyment. Real life events have precipitated those feelings.
