Future Update Discussions
Well, as we have two update weeks not covered in Behind the Scenes, I think it has a good chance of coming out midweek this coming week or early the week after.

"Like 5 minutes" is not an average, 10 is top speed and maybe 12-15 average.

That's pretty extreme...I'd say change killcount and double the droprate at most

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Players who are willing to pay 4.5b for 1 item have something to tell about the history of that cash. That amount can't been made on an honest way imo. When thousands of people have that much or more, vague accusations like those fizzle out Ely is 585 in GE as of this timestamp

18-Feb-2011 - You brought back the Wildynow you can prove it!
It's the artwork team. I am pretty sure the content team already has plenty to work on, without needing concept art or something. Solution: hire more developers while keeping a steady amount of artwork/CM employees or the other way...but that's not as pleasant to think about.

200M in all Skills
That is if you teleport to the wild every inventory If you teleport every 6 hours before the auto logout then you only need to make 47 teleports to wildy it says that the brawlers last for 1109 successful cooks and that 1 inv of wines count as 1 cook, don't know anything about teleporting tho. Am i missing something, never knew brawlers had a teleporting count; anyway where would you bank at wildy? Every time you make wine the counter is reset So you can have as many unfermented wines in your bank as you can continuously make Meaning that one "successful cook" could be many thousands of wines

Nex heals on both curses and prayers during the last phase. That rumour is completely false. For me, the decision is an easy choice. A constant 10-15% increase in ranged accuracy is more important than the increases in strength for your 2-3 claw specs/kill.

1/100 could be closer to the truth, actually. no no, hes correct, read his post closer 1/1024 for each item is my educated guess. Slightly off topic, but does anyone have a picture or confirmation of effigies from Nex (obviously only applies to FFA)? I've seen conflicting information but no confirmation.

Making money doing nothing
what about lesser rares? santas masks etc Nope. Phats AGS SGS Claws can be 500k-2m for a full day smaller items are only maybe 100-200k (unless I forgot something)

If there was one new feature you could add to Runescape, what would it be?

Ideal Nex Set Up, The Numbers
Nex has been trioed many times with wildly varying gear. Haven't seen a duo since the safespot was removed but I'm sure that can be done using void or karils. @The comment about normal people, Karils+veracs+claws+fury, etc, should be standard for the average monsterhunter. As for shield, you have plenty of options, even down to just a DFS for some teams. Yes it's a step up from ~30m corp gear but to fight a level 1001 you should expect that.

Nex
The kill count should take 15 minutes max with your stats. It's about the same speed as Sara and Arma KC. That ignores the fact that you can stay all day at Arma/Saradomin but must bank after 2-3 overloads at Nex. Corp also takes 2-3 overloads, and the run from the bank there is 2 minutes.

My biggest fear is misclicking on the door once inside and having to get 40 Zaros KC again...does anyone know if there's a confirmation going from bank back out? Some ideas for KC: -Base the door on a points system -Zaros monsters give points -The other 4 GWD generals give lots of points If you could do the KC all at once and do several trips in a row, it would cut down on the team KC coordination needed. It would also let you kill useful things instead of Blood Reavers. I also like the one-time KC idea, or potentially a quest/miniquest/whatever unlockable reward for the same effect.

Apart from the stolen credit cards, which is something that is controllable now, how does RWT negatively affect legitimate players? Oh and I would contest that RWT is the objective of botting as shown by how there were still many bots during the restricted trade era for simple personal in game advancement and not for RWT. The numbers of bots have gone up but bots are often for personal use as much as for RWT. With unlimited cash and training available 24/7, botting produces more competition for higher leveled resources. Legitimate players have to earn money to be able to make overloads, to name one example... RWT lets you buy them. The same goes for botting or paying others to train your account during restricted trade. Through RWT, players can risk as much as they want at bosses, PKing, staking, etc, and not worry about that impact. Legitimate players are restricted by what they have the means to supply. If your view of botting is limited to level 3s chopping yew logs, picking flax, and playing the archery game, then yes - these accounts do not have a direct impact on legitimate players. But main account botting and buying money (produced by these low level bots) to use on main accounts fundamentally change the game experience for legitimate players. There are no higher level resources that botters cause competition for. Chins are the only one, if that even counts as a higher level resource. Most high leveled moneymakers are unbottable. Trust me, losing 200m staking sucks even if you RWT, you still had to earn that money in real life. I don't support RWT because I don't like the idea that a persons IRL status can effect their performance in game, however botting isn't nearly as bad and it's connection to RWT isn't as strong as people make out. This was shown when RWT was eliminated and botting still grew. Sorry, I didn't explain what I meant by "resources" fully. I don't mean skilling resources, although there are much better high level gathering techniques than chins. Botting, which provides most of the means for being able to buy cash, means you have more people crowding high level moneymaking methods like bosses and removing the profitability of mid-combat moneymakers. When players can pay for cash to buy high leveled gear, the demand increases while the supply is bottlenecked. RWT was never fully eliminated. Botting on low level accounts stayed because it was still possible to transfer cash in more roundabout ways and also because people paying to have their stats raised got the same advantages I outlined above. Also, are you talking about botting on main accounts or on low level skill/gathering accounts, or both? The underlined part seems to contradict itself - if you have a large amount of spare cash IRL (status), you do not have to earn it IRL, and it won't suck to pay to affect your performance. The bolded part is what I fundamentally disagree with. What do you think all the flax pickers, green dragon killers, archery game players, yew cutters, coal miners, lobster/shark fishers, and many other bots do with the cash they make if not sell it? Why do bots that don't steal your password and PIN require a cash payment? I won't claim to know what percentage of RWT is done by legitimate players, gold farmers using workers, or botting networks, because you cannot find statistics on that. What I can say is that botting produces consequences for legitimate players.

Long-term profit is the best, yes. Let's say you start a small perm team like Grimy said. You are spending hundreds of millions on supplies and more time per drop than anywhere else is RuneScape. As the level of difficulty of a boss increases, its drops should become more consistent in kills per drop to make up for the added burden described by Grimy. Unfortunately Jagex has taken the opposite route, with low level bosses like DKs/TDs/GWD having the best consistency and high level bosses (Corp, Nex) having the worst. Nex's normal drops are the best, but they don't pay for supplies like Corp drops do.

Even though the OP's arguments are sound, Golvellius's post is right on the target. I'll disagree. The boss is difficult. This is a good thing, even if it does take a long while to kill. However there is no need to make the boss cost so much to kill, and there is absolutely no need to make its drop rate so low. We all asked for a new hard boss that is not solo'able. We asked for new high leveled gear. But we did not ask for the gear to be impossible to acquire. I say they messed up Corp by making it's drop rate so low on the sigils, and they've messed up Nex in the same way. If I was in charge I would make it a 1-10 drop rate, take away the kill count, and give the banker a shop that sells discounted sara brews/rests. Keep Nex as difficult as she is, just give us some supplies so it doesn't cost us an arm and a leg to kill her. Not a bad suggestion, but careful that the savings on those supplies don't exceed the 50k it takes per frozen key charge. Part of the problem, Golv, is that these drops are worth more than you can trade. When phats equalize or pass max cash, they'll be near impossible to trade. And no one wants to be minions for the few people lucky enough to have huge LSP under the stupid lootshare system. Nex herself is fine. To get people interested: 1) Slightly increase the droprate so that prices fall into the tradable zone (under 2^31-1 cash) 2) Fix Lootshare (doing this will probably help accomplish #1 as well) Any one of the following changes would fix the Lootshare system: 1) Reset LSP daily 2) Remove the 10% decline in LSP per day 3) Raise GE prices to their real levels to make CS viable Lootshare was already a problem for corp, where the prices of the good sigils were in the 400m-600m range to make them a bit easier to snipe. For Nex, where the drops were stupidly priced at 100-200m or lower, monsterhunting without nolifing was thrown out the window.

I mostly agree with everything in the first post. Nex is a beast. But most worlds are empty because the supplies are a significant investment and the drops go to players with high LSP from missing div/ely. Perm teams are the way to go to ensure that drops are split evenly without having ridiculous LSP. I will post a lengthy checklist I have about how to kill Nex if this moves forward. Also, there have been widespread rumors of a Nex nerf, and I think at this point Jagex needs to at least fix Nex if they aren't going to address the flaws in the GE and the Lootshare system. If they were going to nerf Nex, the best changes to make would be: 1) Lower the killcount required (10-20 kills). 2) Lower the lifepoints per form. 3) Reduce the amount of blood reavers spawned on the 3rd stage and the time Nex uses soulsplit in the 5th stage. I don't want Nex to be made too easy. RS needs a boss that requires tactics, as pioneered by the Dungeoneering bosses. The above changes would keep the difficulty of the kill similar, but would simply boost kills/hour.

Randoms need another revamp. For players botting for profit, 400k exp is a long time because high profit, "bottable" methods tend to give low XP. For high level players doing "unbottable" things, this results in a random every hour or more. Randoms pay for the time they take but are ineffective in their fundamental design objective. @Nifflin: bots don't affect legitimate players directly, but RWT (the objective of botting) does in a huge way.

his task list MUST suck. Any good task list have tons of afk tasks: spectres, etc I guess it doesn't count if you have to use a Steel Titan because constantly clicking special attack isn't too afk.

Clanwars the most dangerous place on RS
Are you implying that the average scaper is someone who can neither read nor think? Yes

Skilling and untradeable high level rewards.
TDs are still 4mish Frosties could get you close to that Arma isn't there but it's still OK DKs are not so good anymore but are still the most consistent And of course Nex is best cash rate but you need a few hundred mill LSP since Jagex refuses to address the problems in their systems On the topic of high level skilling incentives: they are good when appropriate. I find it funny to see complaining about players with higher levels having an advantage in a game.

An effigy every 400 kills ? No way. I have killed 20k+ and only got 27 effigies, i don't know on what u are basing this estimate >.< According to Vex's formula, Frost Dragons drop an effigy every 524 kills, which loosely matches most drop logs. Both 1/400 and 1/741 could be streaks of luck even with a huge sample size.

Wanting to stake...
If you're going to stake with gear on, I highly suggest investing in some better equipment options first: -Fury -Ranger boots -Archer's ring (i) Also ditch the rune armor for better alternatives (not sure what the best is for that level but it's not rune). What you posted looks like PK gear. For staking, you need the absolute best or turn that slot off.
