  1. Current: items remain on ground, for only you to see, for 2 minutes Next week: this is one of the unanswered questions, the only official word was that this was considered.
  2. The GE price will be optional. Who cares what it is or whether or not its been effected by noob trading. Nobody is going to follow it on limited run items. You'll be forced to deal directly with the person standing next to the GE. I wonder if we can get another tomisme price guide going on RSOF. You would be correct except for coinshare. Divine sigils, as well as Nex's unique drops, are very far off their true price in their current GE price. This forces Corp and Nex teams to use lootshare rather than coinshare to split drops. Obviously you can still sell lootshared drops for whatever you want, but coinshared drops are a different story. If prices can only raise by 5% per day - and are affected by fake trades - they will not settle for quite some time. Why would people want to keep prices low? If you have high LSP, you need to cash in before coinshare becomes fashionable. The person with the highest LSP in a monsterhunting team is most likely to receive the loot the lower the price of the loot is (to the point where elysian/divine sigils are somewhat commonly "sniped"). But no matter how many LSP you use for a drop, you can sell it for the same (real) price.
  3. Ill be interested in how it copes with me selling a santa to my friend to 1gp then he sells back for 1gp, i then repeat. probably it is only influenced by trades through the ge so are you saying that trades through the ge are not player to player trades? i don't understand. For something like a divine sigil or torva armour, most of the GE trades are loot coinshared on accident sold to snipe bots. So yes, I'd say that there are some items for which GE trades do not represent player to player trades. I'd rather the GE updated based on unfilled offers rather than outside trades though. As stated above, friends can do "fake trades" to drive the price wherever they want if there is a limited supply.
  4. A good point brought up on another forum: Best reliable cash/hr is now ddosing soloers
  5. All you'll need to pro stake is a rapier and EEE but I could see boxing happening too.
  6. You can say, on the other hand, that it was a stupid way to lessen risk. With the overload of unqualified boss hunters, this is a godsend for those that know what they are doing(you can make more money as there fewer people and you also make money from others graves). It's a good point that you can make money off other people dying, though it's not exactly how I set out to do it when I did GWD 4 years ago. Although this will do some positive things in terms of prices/crowding, it will make deaths a very sticky topic for teams. Would you ever boss again with someone who sold your items instantly? Would you expect others to do the same?
  7. I don't mind losing items on death but this is a stupid way to increase the danger because it splits teams apart and ruins collaboration.
  8. yeah but even 200k would be 2/3 max xp/h for all skills so if pple can do 300k hunt thattd be training it at 200k, mahog tables can be 750k and they'd be doing it at 500k firemaking 300k instead of 450k..etc and Id belive most arent slowing down that much so mid 200k-300ks seems reasonable possibly Ok I grant you that 200k is a reasonable rate but I challenge you to find a maxed (or very high total) player who actually has an exp/hr rate of 200k...if it can't be done by a person in contention then it doesn't matter what the theoretical rate is, which is where we differ in opinion I think. That old list that was posted on HLF had Zarfot first, I believe? With much less than 200k. Either way, I agree that exp/hr now is definitely in the 200-300k range, but that doesn't mean that your overall rate will suddenly jump there. The amount of time spent using pre-99 rates (or more importantly, pre-update rates) is not insignificant and probably never will be. So while a person playing 10 hours a day could get 2-3m exp/day training a mix of skills, it's probably not possible to have an overall rate of 200-300k, which is what the original post I quoted was discussing. EDIT: From your other post, you mention that you only count time skilling. That in itself will never match the a-log exp/hr rates seeing as certain quests, minigame rewards, etc are necessities...
  9. -How fast will the GE's average trade price change? Will there still be a cap on the percentage it can change per update? -Will coinshare use the average GE price to dish out loot rather than the minimum price is currently uses? -Have you/will you consider taking another look at ways to allow trades to go over the integer limit (2^31-1) in value so that players can still buy the most expensive items in the game without antijunk?
  10. The old number that I remembered was 135k exp/hr for Zarfot so I assumed that was the way to do it But I forgot that ancient effigies were added so that boosts it a lot, not to mention Herblore Habitat Still if perfect efficiency is 307k don't expect anyone to get close to 300 over something as long-term as 200m all :\ Also, since your first 300m or so exp has to be from somewhat inefficient methods, that will weigh it down. Right now we are only up 8x the exp to 99 all, so that lesser amount of exp carries some weight; the farther along they get the closer they will get to current xp/hr rates...
  11. Your setup should have 200+ range+melee defence along with 100+ mage defence to be safe from everything except Ancient Mages. Karils top + armour of your choice should work. Since there are only 2 ancient mage spawns, and since the spawn time is *very* long, I don't think you're going to get a lot of robe drops. Also remember that each trip uses a charge of the Frozen key (50k). For a setup, I would wear the gear mentioned with a yak. Scroll your frozen key as soon as you get in so that you don't have to worry about dying and not being able to get back. I suspect the bulk of your time will be spent world hopping, but you will need p pots to keep protect mage and some emergency food.
  12. 1. Rs2 is not 8 years old, and why aren't you counting time in RSC anyway 2. 60k/hr should be 100-130k/hr (@another poster 200-300k/hr is too much even if he's only done fast skills to 200m) 3. 6 hours a day is not uncommon as an average. Hell a lot of people get in 80+ hours per week, so 40 isn't a stretch at all...and remember only a miniscule handful of players have even 1.5b exp let alone 2.34b Epic troll or legitimately clueless?
  13. I'll finally be able to buy a DSS (or first an ESS for a hugely discounted price now that it's crashed)
  14. Squareroot, what you're saying is true and are all reasons why to go in a LS team rather than a FFA. However it's still not getting around the fact that LSP will keep half your team from getting regular drops. Even for corp, people tended to stock up on LSP first; on Nex, it's a no-brainer. The ideal would be CS, but Jagex set the GE prices on new items ridiculously low again. The thing I'm wondering about is how teams will deal with LS drops after free trade in released. Prior to the addition of coinshare to the lootshare system, lootshared drops were sold and split evenly with the rest of the team (and still were in BH until that was removed too). Will we return to this or continue to use a LSP system that rewards players who spend more time online per day then others?
  15. False. People only bring them so that they can fit the equivalent of a super restore and antipoison in one inventory slot. There is nothing to "cure" the cough faster. There is however the tactic that every DDs under Nex before she becomes attackable, then one person stands off to the east side. Nex places the cough on the person farthest away, so if the infected person then stays away from the rest of the team you can avoid it altogether. Also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ltGHgHWNGo Not very full yet, but it might have a long-term appeal. Nex requires too high of an investment to go there without high LSP otherwise. I've had a couple million LSP over the past week and have never even sniped bones or charms in LS Nex teams.
  16. I don't think they've had it planned for *that* long. I'm sure they started looking at it a while before the first vote tally, but assuming they saved the code (I can't imagine why they wouldn't), a couple months is more than enough time to merge it with content released after its removal. Also, free trade is relatively straightforward to implement compared to the wilderness, so I don't believe it was as big of a project as a lot of you think. I can even imagine some trolls asking why it takes two weeks if they're just reverting to old code, but the truth is it will be extremely buggy either way. I almost don't want to go into the wilderness for a couple months after it comes back so they can sort out all the compatibility issues they'llve missed in QA.
  17. This guide works for masses but unfortunately it does not work as well in smaller teams (for more efficient kills). You missed a lot of the subtleties about the different forms and did not mention bringing dragon claws to speed up the most dangerous forms. That inventory is very suspect: it's doubtful you can last 4 overloads and 2 yaks in the boss room unless your team is gigantic; 2 overloads is a much more reasonable amount. Also, you missed bringing a unicorn + scrolls in the yak which makes a difference on the last few kills. Not a bad guide but should have be farther along 4 days after it was posted now that some pretty good tactics are known.
  18. From what I've seen it doesn't work exactly like that. You can get past the blood stage of Nex with multiple reavers still alive. Watch this around 3:30 on: and they don't seem to heal Nex directly (or do they?). The reason to kill them is that there's nothing else to do while Nex has the siphon up and they deal damage through prayer. I could be wrong though.
  19. You're completely right, but one thing to keep in mind. Even if a weapon has damage reduced, it is still somewhat beneficial to have a higher max hit in order to increase your average hit. The hand cannon is very accurate which helps since increasing your range level doesn't improve accuracy. Rigour+void are very useful for raising your average hit and speeding up kills, not to mention void also increases accuracy (not sure if rigour does too?).
  20. Damage cap + need yak
  21. [bleep]ing hoarders, how do they work? On a positive note, it seems the drops from this boss are fairly common, so that's something Jagex did right for once. :-) Perhaps the ceremonial pieces are (from minions), but they're cosmetic and not worth very much. There were very few posted/a-logged drops today, either because everyone was still learning or because it takes a long time to kill. Even if they are common, this boss consumes a lot of money - key recharges, full inventories of supplies, etc. I'd say the profits will be enormous as the GE prices of the new items rise, but it will probably be even worse than corp in terms of guaranteed return and time investment for a profit. But in all, I'd rather have this hard boss with lots of free worlds than an easy boss with no free worlds!
  22. Or as mentioned be designed in such a way that you need two people to deal damage. The first day it will seem both incredibly strong for small teams and easily killed in seconds by the masses. In time we will see standards like 6man corp emerge for it. Hard to tell what works and what doesn't right away. lets make nex a lvl 1 imp, but 1 person cant do dmg on it, however if 2 people are in the room then you just 1 hit it there jagex made an unsoloable boss....oh what thats [bleep]ing retarted if they want to make it unsoloable, dont make some dumb rule, just make it hard I'm not the one who made that statement or designed the boss mechanics, I'm just saying that it might not necessarily be strength alone that makes it unsoloable. For example, the Waterbirth doors still require 2 players unless you leave Blood Runs Deep half-finished, and everything past it is certainly soloable.

  24. Then it wouldn't be as much about preparation as it would be about picking up the tactics and trying strategies when he does come out. The first people to "figure it out" (assuming it is of sufficient complexity) will be in the best position to profit. Obviously there's stuff you can do like form your teams and have a variety of gear, but in that scenario it would be more about getting the most efficient kills per hour. Take TDs for example, the first day teams were messing around trying to figure it out getting 5-10 kills/hr, now people use darklight and solo 45 in that same period (granted, with better gear).
  25. I made about 3300 doses of super prayer on my way to 99 herblore, and I save them for when I *really* need them (corp teams, longer boss trips, etc). It's a waste to use them if you can bring more supplies than you will use in your available time. Super prays are also good at solo TDs to let you stay more overload doses, but not really necessary.
