Yep, a couple of people even reported his posts. Whether I, or you, or him like hunting or not is irrelevant; He's allowed to have his opinion about it and post it here even if it's negative. There aren't moral absolutes on this... Hunting (if done correctly and with control) is not against the law in most western countries, you can even acquire a license to do so. Some people even live on hunting and sell the meat to retailers who pack it. But killing random innocent animals "just for the heck of it", such as rabbits, sheep, squirrels, etc. that you aren't even going to eat, seems pretty twisted to me. Lawmakers tend to agree, you can get charges against you or even a prison term for shooting bigger game animals/other wild animals just for "fun". For example killing, baiting, trapping bears without a license can land you a 1-5 year prison sentence, and even if you obtain licenses, you can hunt down a maximum of 1 per year. But if you hunt smaller animals and also eat them, I don't see what's wrong. PETA fans and others, feel free to voice your opinion. I just don't know why it would be wrong to do something humans (and every other species) have done since the dawn of times. It's not unnatural, if humans never started hunting, we wouldn't exist today to write on these message boards because all our ancestors would've starved to death. Hell, even other hungry animals will prey on humans if they haven't eaten for a long enough time. It's a free country if you're in the US, so you can do it based on law... But I agree that if you have no intention to even dispose their bodies (let alone consume them as food), it's an extremely cruel way to have "fun". You might just as well go to parades for legislating dog fights, at least the animals have a slight chance to survive while the people watching have their "entertainment".

i dont think i really like rs anymore

This doesn't even qualify as a rant, sorry. Next time, try creating a thread where people have something to actually discuss. -
To Those Who Think RS is 100% Safe.
BlueLancer replied to axeraider194's topic in General Discussion
No, as explained above, there is no way you can get any kind of viruses or trojans from RuneScape itself. One of the top ads which rotate on F2P servers contained a popup which apparently tries to install a backdoor trojan on your computer (which will easily steal your passwords, banking, credit card or any other details typed on that computer). http://www.toolbar.google.com http://www.mozilla.com Get a popup blocker from Google or get the safer browser from Mozilla which has in-built popup blocking. It will save you from a lot of harm. :) -
Spam... And yes, you can name people on tip.it, if you're not making negative accusations against them. Don't worry, if you said 'Zezima' in the past you wont be banned

1 of the biggest reasons why I quit RS was the lack of real, interesting content (such as quests). Instead of making quests have a deep and intriguing storyline like in Diablo, they chose to cater to 11 year old's with 'Save-the-cat'-esque quests and half witty puns like the ones in the original poster's images.. The programmer's have fun in the office laughing at these puns for a few minutes, but they should realize they're creating a RPG played by tons of people online, not their personal 'humor project'. (I wouldn't even mind if the puns were *actually* funny with lasting humor value) Some quests in RS classic were quite interesting though, and not childish at all :) (Not sure if I'd want to replay them on RS2)

I voted for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad just for the hell of it. That man has so much balls in standing up for his country's rights in international politics, I can't decide if it's funny or if the man rocks. Since the IAEA found no proof Iran is even capable of producing WMD of any sort (he claimed all along the projects are there for making nuclear energy, just like a lot of western countries do). That was a harsh blow against the US/EU but they still keep pressuring his country for "WMD" (new general accusation of the 21st century?) But an author for children's books? What the heck? A fantasy writer writing about a school of witchcraft is the most important person of 2007? :?

[Tip] Very good way to have money if hacked.
BlueLancer replied to v3nd3tta's topic in General Discussion
At least you had something intelligent to post (and it's true, you don't just get 'hacked'.. It's 100% because of your own carelessness). But please don't bump a thread which is 1.5 years old. 8-) -
Please don't create spam topics. :) Alternatively, if you want to seriously suggest something to Jagex, log on the forums at runescape.com

Backstabbing is merely despicable and shows you have no honor at all. Luring however is a form of scamming. Some players might be very young and new to the internet, they don't have the judgement to think is the person lying for his own interest. It's hard to report luring to Jagex though, but if you talked a lot and you can see the person lying about "showing a cool quest location" for you, and you die after he laughs at you.. Jagex could see it in the chat logs and warn him.

While I was in Japan 2001, it was normal for even middle-aged businessmen in a subway to ask elderly people of a character meaning on the daily newspaper they were reading... It's hell for foreigners, but I'm trying to learn as much 'essential' kanji as possible.

I'm just like you; playing games casually... So I don't really care much for ultra-high specs, BluRay movie support etc... The Wii controller is extremely accurate and the motion censors work well in all games. If you're out of things to do you can just play the default sport games like Tennis, the controller proves itself by it's accuracy. Not to mention, after 20 years of typical 'tap-controller-get-to-next-level-finish' gaming, the Wii is really refreshing. For example it brings a totally new dimension to the Zelda game. :)

BlueLancer replied to axeraider194's topic in General Discussion
You can't get a virus from RuneScape in any possible way, but you can get a spyware program/backdoor trojan/virus from one of the ads that rotate on F2P worlds. It's quite amazing someone would bother doing that, since advertising on RS banners costs several $1,000's per month.. But apparently someone is doing so. Jagex rules urge you not to block their ads, but here is what you can legally do: Block popups. A banner ad has no reason to produce a popup if you don't click it. You can get a free popup blocker at: http://toolbar.google.com/ Or alternatively, you can download the safer web browser with an inbuilt popup blocker at: http://www.firefox.com/ -
Japanese uses hiragana (for words that can't be expressed by Kanji), katakana (to express sounds, foreign translations, things, scientific names, etc), and kanji (chinese symbols). Occassionally 'romaji' is used, but mostly in cases where it's assumed the reader is not a native Japanese speaker/reader, or traditional symbols can't be used (if using a keyboard not supporting oriental signs for example). Romaji is japanese, written with the latin [western] alphabet. I've been learning it for a few years and it's very difficult. :) I'm actually thinking about just forgetting of learning to read/write tons of kanji and hiragana signs I don't know yet, just concentrating on learning to listen and fluently speak it. Really, it's not that difficult to know several languages. What you may have serious trouble with is their alphabets. I thought of chinese as well but the characters will be such a pain in the rear, maybe I'll just learn basic speaking skills...

I saw it a while ago, it's a really great movie. The character portrayed by Washington is perfect in taking his ego out of making business in the underworld, unlike his rivals. Crowe wasn't really all that impressing as the cop/detective, it seemed he just pulled some of the major clues that led to the arrests, out of his ... rather than figuring them out, as if somebody gave them to him. It's also interesting this movie is largely based on real life. The black dealer himself is a real person as you'd figured, who did cash in big time by leaving out the 'middle man' from taking a cut of profits.

umm stereotype? :| It's not a stereotype, it's a biological fact. Most (note: Not all, just the great majority) women are much more emotional than men on average. Just because I or you know some women who are tougher than average, doesn't mean most women are that way.

(Post in Help & Advice next time) You can also get more extensive help by stating if you're F2P or P2P, if you pay get a much bigger scale of training areas at level 20. :)

A lot of females play with male characters in lots of games to avoid harassment by excited pubescent kids. I have encountered also numerous female players in FPS games who use voice changers to appear as male on the team radio. -

Your parents should pay some of that money they have to get you a better education. I can assure you he's just fooling around  He's an adult, and actually one of the oldest players in RS... -
Exactly, not to belittle good merchants, but there isn't really such a thing as "skill" in merchanting. Merchanting is all about buying items for cheap and finding someone dumb enough to pay substantially more for it. It's the oldest practice of business since the history of civilization. The only 'skill' you need is accumulating the starting capital to begin merchanting with a few expensive items.

is it worth going next gen if I don't have a HD TV?
BlueLancer replied to Myridden's topic in Off-Topic
A year ago I bought a 32" LCD costing something around that... After hooking up my friend's Wii, I can tell you it makes no difference. :) Of course.. Who wouldn't like a bigger screen for playing? That's always a bonus. But no, it doesn't really add to the "eye candy". I felt just like playing on an old 19" TV, the graphics are exactly the same. If you save up $1K by the time you're 15 (very realistic, you could earn way more by working a few hours a day after school), definitely buy the console, not a pretty TV. Heck, if you want to spend it all, you can get all 3 major consoles (since PS3 will have dropped in price by 2008) and have money left over for games. -
