He actually already earned his money back with his investement. Everything he earns from now on is pure profit... I just love the idiotic comments on that site mocking the buyer... How can it be a bad investment or 'he should get a life' if he's already recouped his money and makes a massive income every month (over $20,000 per month?) If he paid $100k for something that has now generated over $20k+ for over 2 years, it means he wins and the criticizer loses. I don't know about those posters, but I'm not aware of very many jobs or investment opportunities guaranteeing nearly $250,000 dollars a year without doing absolutely anything but seeing money build up in your virtual balance and withdrawing it to your bank account at will..

 Thanks for the idea buddy

This also applies to nearly every MMORPG out there: There isn't really an 'objective' to finish, even if you capped out the XP on all skills, finished all quests and got all the best equipment... They will add more shortly, as long as the Jagex corporation exists you really can't "finish" runescape.

It's sad even an underage kid without a license can go to 'certain parts' of the town in the US and get a cheap 9mm gun (which was probably stolen/smuggled by the mafia) with ammo for about $100 bucks, less than an iPod... I don't think this problem exists in Europe.. When was the last time a school massacre or killing happened in an european country? There are too many violent tools in the USA and there's nothing the government can do to stop their proliferation. If I had a kid I wouldn't really consider putting him/her into a public american school...

The conservative christians already hated these books and called for their banning... Now one of the main characters is a witch, gay, and maybe just to piss off christians he also advocates abortion, use of condoms, freedom of religion and same-sex marriage in the hidden 8th book  The pope would probably go mad and faint if he only knew...

Blackwater hires professional soldiers and ex. elite troops from all possible countries and hires them as mercenaries for massive salaries (up to $1,500 per one day ), like BlueTear mentioned, some don't even need to pass the basic testing and training if they have a proven track record (like central american ex. commandos, ex. yugoslavia elite forces from bosnia/serbia, philippine/south african former SAS commandos etc.) The scary part is that blackwater mercenaries hired by the US government don't answer to the laws of any country including those of the US and Iraq. They operate above the law, they've got away with killing civilians in the past, what's to prove they were accidents instead of bored mercs in search of action? The government protects them.. It needs specially trained staff.

In the US, you can. A single execution can cost up to $300,000 including legal costs & representation, killing agent such as injection, last meals, etc... Anything you order isn't going to cost over $200 tops anyways, the guy is about to die... Yes they will grant anything. Of course they'd deny stuff like 800g of Japanese Kobe steak (like mentioned on page 1) which would cost like $1k, they'd just urge you to have a normal $20 steak. I find it kind of sympathetic, that one guy on the list... He only asked for an apple :(

How can a school have a rule against a hairstyle/length in a modern country? :? Are they going to say "sorry, you can't enter" when you come to school in the morning, because your hair touches your shoulders? That's ridiculous and I hope by 'rule' you meant rather a social rule Well do you think it would be acceptable for people to turn up with skin heads? Or liberty [bleep]es? Yeah... :| I can actually name a few people from high school that had 'skin heads' and 1 or 2 with 'liberty [bleep]es', it was a quite diverse school, not to mention all kinds of dressing styles... It's their choice really, are people who don't conform to 'standards' inferior somehow? Though that was in scandinavia so I have no idea if US schools would scream in horror if a school was fully diverse; I beg to differ as I'm quite aware of the state of high schools/colleges in the US... I don't think schools with uniform requirements even exist in western countries on the exception of US and Great Britain... Not even private ones. I'm nearly 100% sure they don't exist in nordic countries which are highly democratic and free.

To be honest mate, with a subject as contentious as this, someone's religion might have everything to do with it. It's certainly neither mine nor your place to decide that. Religion isn't a biological trait, when you were born 20 years ago, you were just the same as your or my pagan ancestors thousands of years ago with no real religion (except ritual sacrifices of animals or other stuff they learned from their parents because they thought they'd get more hunting luck or live longer) A sense of good/bad can be inbuilt, even if you lived in the woods for all your life and never saw many humans, you could know it's wrong to do certain stuff you wouldn't want done to yourself As his question stood, "Are humans inherently evil" I'd say yes. You might be, and probably are, different now that you have a safe home, developing society, easy access to food, no need to kill anything or anyone, entertainment, clean water... But think of all the stuff your ancestors down your family line have done in order for you to live in this moment, they had the capacity to slay animals and eat raw meat, murder other people who were stealing their game/food, abandon your family and reproduce with someone else... If they could do that, you certainly have that same 'evil' in you that will activate if a day comes survival will be harder (right now surviving in a western country isn't much of an evolutionary challenge)

The adults making these ridiculous rules must've been really ugly/lonely as kids themselves, I see no other explanation why (apart from the laughable ban of hugs) they would also ban high fives. They seem to want some personal revenge.. You can't legally enforce that kind of rules even if it's a school, can you? You can't stop kids high-fiving each other if they won a football match 2 days ago and talk about it in school :?

Seriously... The Myanmar military junta government is stupid as a pile of bricks.. "We need to raise even more money to get more ferraris, plasma TV's and rolex watches.. Let's raise petroleum prices by 5x" What did they think would happen? The people were already poor before this, now they can't even afford going to work since gas costs so much... As you were probably aware already, China and Russia don't exactly have a track record of proper human rights, they couldn't care less if protesters die in Myanmar as long as the junta keeps purchasing chinese weapons and russian aircraft

Good news especially for europeans :P Now 1̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¡Ãâì already buys $1.40 worth of goods online, poker sites, subscriptions, you name it... .. And bad news for americans :? The dollar is becoming worth less and less... Wouldn't be a bad time to buy foreign currency. Large oil countries like Iran have already switched doing their oil business fully in japanese yens and euros.

I certainly don't want my kid to learn pseudo-factual scientific theories when he goes to school. School is a place where you learn real facts, like how chemistry works, how biology in nature works, how to calculate... How to survive in the real world and possibly get a job/career/information. I have absolutely no problem with religion (nor would I have if my partner was jewish, hindu, christian, islamic, taoist or anything else), I just have a problem with teaching beliefs as facts. Teaching stories of Adam and Eve, etc. as fact is lying to kids. You can't present educational facts which have no reliable source. You can't teach kids 1+1 is 4 and apples are blue in New Zealand just because a looney wrote a book about it and you decided to believe it. You can't force a kid to believe santa claus 'really' exists just because you say so. If you can't prove something, it doesn't exist. If you're in a courtroom, there are a thousand witnesses to prove you murdered a person, there is no such thing as "your innocence" no matter what your relatives or parents believe. But fortunately in most countries, you are free to believe something or someone exists and nobody can take that away from you. Religion gives great comfort to weak, spiritual, stressed people etc., heck anything that helps people forget their sorrows is positive. Just as long as you keep it personal/friendly.

Who cares what you define stealing as, you're still ripping an artist off. Using a technical definition of stealing to justify your actions is pretty cowardly. Are the millions of people, possibly including your parents, thieves too because they recorded audio cassettes from the radio back in the 1980's, copied them forward to their friends and they copied it onwards? If you want to get technical, an artist isn't getting ripped off when you download an MP3. The label company loses out about $0.10 dollars, and they've already turned a huge profit before you downloaded that MP3. Why is it ok to record songs off the radio but not off the internet?

Haha, sorry but you got tricked. There's no "atheist community" or "us" when it comes to atheism. That's like implying anarchists have their own bureaus and parliament. Atheism is simply rejecting the idea of a supernatural being. It's not a religion. Agnosticism seems the most logical, because nobody can really prove a God's existence or lack thereof. The Pope knows about the birth of the universe just as much as I or some wacko preacher down the road. ---- Not to mention, why are atheists 'pitted' against christians? Over 70% of the world's population isn't christian

I have a $30 MP3 player with 1GB of storage, and it plays MP3's. Why the heck would I need a touch screen, telephone, internet connection, virtual pinball and videos? The kids who spend/urge their parents to spend $400 on useless trash like this should get a reality check and see what they're buying. A hard drive with an LCD display with bundled playback software that is available for free. Kind of like some cellphones... Soon they'll be capable of everything from writing word documents to listening to radio, except making phone calls... The reason why they were created. Every device doesn't need to turn into a multi-purpose media center. Focus on having higher battery life on MP3's, better voice quality on cellphone calls...

Which is exactly why by legal definition 'downloading' MP3's isn't a persecutable offense in most countries of the world. A 'download' is just the file transfer of certain bytes from one location to another. You can't 'download' a car for example. You can borrow it, but then your friend will no longer have it. If you borrow a MP3, both the artist, your friend, and you have the MP3. You just copied an amount of bytes. I don't download much MP3's, and why should I lie about it and be hypocritical, I didn't pay. I got maybe 100-200 songs max. But guess what: Some of those songs were awesome so I bought a physical copy of the album they were on. Without a 'trial' version I'd never even touched an unknown album in a shop. You can't own a song. You can just own the copyrights to it. Even without MP3's, people were recording songs off radio on audio cassettes, then copying those to their friends. Were they stealing? .. No, the song on the radio was free in the first place. Anyone tuning in could've heard it. They were just passing on their audio experience to their friends that weren't tuned in.

This annoys me about my friend, I can't stand him sometimes
BlueLancer replied to XxTearGodxX's topic in Off-Topic
He has serious attitude problems, I have no problems with sharing and helping out friends, but your friend doesn't sound like a "real" friend at all. He's just free riding whoever he can find. How old is he? If he's under 20 tell him he can save up for his own stuff.. If he's over 20, tell him to grow up and be a man. Adults don't ask their friends "can I play PS2 at your house every day for 5 hours". He's not your friend, he's using you. I wouldn't say you're a bad friend for saying 'no'. It's ok if he asked like "wanna play PS2 with me this week at your place", not if he wants to be alone and use stuff you paid for. -
If it's worth anything more than $10k I'd sell it. You never know, there could be a huge meteor storm again and they'd become worthless. On the other hand, money is very unlikely to sink a huge amount in value. Sure it's a nice thing to own, but decide yourself: Is it worth it being a "collector" then finding out later there have been tons of more meteor storms since you found yours, and now they're worth $50 a piece? I'd definitely sell it over having an item of sentimental value you just found

As far as I know communism is about equal life opportunities for everyone, minimal governance, shared public property... I'm a hardcore capitalist but I don't understand what people have against the core idea of communism, just because they've heard 'it's bad' ... On the banning of tag... I can just laugh at those parents. Like someone said on this thread, getting some bruises, experiencing stuff is a part of being a kid. Heck I cut a deep wound in my thumb when we were trying to cut a cookie box at age 5. Yeah I may have cried for a while, so what? It taught me a lesson. My parents didn't sue the knife company. It will be interesting to see how those kids turn out.. The ones raised inside a bubble and they know nothing about the real world, they only know TV, studying, sleeping... Wow that's kind of scary. I mean, I'll feel sorry for those kids when they get a cold knock of reality as adults. The world isn't a nice and painless place where nothing goes wrong in anybody's life. Can they cope with a betraying husband/wife, extortion, fights, being arrested, placing theirselves in somebody elses shoes, applying judgement on situations they've never faced before..? You know, those are things that could be happening to the average Joe who went to college/mechanic/law school and got married with 2 kids, not just to some unlucky hobos. Life isn't simple and straightforward. But yeah, let's ban kids from playing tag because it's "harassment". America is getting ridiculous. Am I getting sued next for accidently pushing someone in a store slightly with my shopping cart? For saying 'could you move please' because I'm "infridging his personal rights"?

I seriously don't understand where you come up with stuff like "prostitution doesn't hurt anyone" and "it's perfectly acceptable to call gays and their acts perverted". It's not acceptable, you may want to read up on Defamation, Libel and Slander Law approved by the senate. You can read about it here without layman's terms, in clear english: http://www.expertlaw.com/library/person ... ation.html You should keep your "perfectly accepted" opinions to your conversations between you and your head, because if you're an american and you take the freedom to call gays "perverted", they can sue you. And these cases do happen, I'm sure most of us aren't idiotic enough to sue you over something you said over the internet. Heck I'm not a gay rights advocate or anything. I don't want to profit from some random guy online. I'm just wondering where your naive thoughts about prostitution, gays, christianity, etc. are coming from. You're entitled to your opinions but if you speak them aloud and hurt somebody, you're held accountable by society's laws, not what the Bible tells you. Being tolerant isn't just a choice you can make; If you want to live by society standards, you have to tolerate people without resorting to calling them names like little children do in the sandbox.

Nissan 350Z isn't a bad car at all, check out the specs and appearance on google. That's a damn fine car for a 17 year old. And the three iPod's with 8gb on each probably don't hurt him either. Can't wait until the meaningless people and his friends pour in and yell at him  "wow, doesn't he have a life to live, he did this the entire summer". At least he did something meaningful that will help a lot of people. Any idiot can go to the beach, drink beer and burn his back. How many people can hack an iPod? And he's young, he's got plenty of time to "live" as he seems fit. Restricting hardware to an operator is ridiculously stupid. I already unlocked my 3G Nokia phone's BB5-code like 2 years ago so I can use prepaid cards on it instead of that cursed expensive Vodafone 'subscription' (As if I wanted to subscribe.. I just wanted the phone)

Banned for random spam... Anyways, in your situation I would explain the situation to them. Heck I couldn't just sit down and be calm when they tell you "ok, could you first design a simple taj-mahal type of 3d architecture example? The photoshop shortcut is on the desktop' Tell them you're more interested in the photography side of studying instead of the graphic 'design' (but you're willing to learn that if they just gave you more time). They absolutely must understand if you tell them you can't be prepared in 24 hours when you meet them tomorrow. This is important to you so I wish you good luck for tomorrow man.
