Should F2P get skill capes?
So you're saying that nothing should be given to free players. No new content. I'm saying the current pay to play content should stay pay to play. If something new were to be introduced into the game, it could possibly be open to free to play players. But I think it is wrong if something that people payed for (they expected it to stay that way) should stay for them. Imagine if you bought something for twenty dollars, but the next day... it was free. You'd be annoyed, right? My Nintendo DS cost me $150. Today I could get the same model for half that, easily. The same thing has happened to my phone, my TV, my computer, and pretty much all my electronics. I'm not annoyed at all, because I expect new models to come out over time. Poor analogy. So you would be absolutely okay with skillcapes being f2p if they had been from the start, but absolutely opposed if they were changed to be f2p now? Either way, they'd be f2p. What's the difference? How was it a poor analogy? RuneScape is a video game, you pay for the content. This content isn't supposed to be given for free, even as time goes on because people pay five dollars (at least) a month for this content. And yes I would be alright if they were originally free to play because I would know they aren't part of the package of content I pay for monthly. The difference? If you had that stance on everything, nothing would be play to play. This is just it, though. This argument assumes that skillcapes are the reason people are paying for the game. But that's silly. There's so many benefits of membership: nine new skills, over a hundred new quests, ten times as much map space to explore, over 400 additional bank spaces, and loads of new content in all the existing f2p skills (except firemaking). I don't know about you, but that's what I'm paying for. I wouldn't be bothered in the slightest if free players had access to a cool-looking cape they could only obtain after hundreds of hours of dedicated training--it's not like my skillcapes are going to be torn from my character's back. Heck, if Jagex could weaken the stat boosts of skillcapes in free worlds, it wouldn't even give an unfair advantage in f2p combat. It doesn't affect me at all. I don't see why anyone would even care, outside of spite.

Prossy vs Bandos at Armour Zombies
Proselyte is probably going to outperform when the difference in defense becomes irrelevant. If your bunyip is overhealing you in Bandos, you can probably switch to proselyte and the prayer bonus will beat the strength bonus. Or you can always use the bandos for the top and prossy for the bottom.

The RuneScape Knowledge Test - (Round 1)
[hide=]1. Tinderbox, noted logs, and a bird's nest? Must be an evil tree. And nearby evil trees, leprechauns are found. The answer is D. 2. An icy location, a bird noise, and a tornado attack could only be Kree'arra, who is immune to melee attacks. A cannon cannot be set up there, so it has to be Morrigan's Javelin, which is B. 3. Kree drops the pieces for the Armadyl Godsword. Pretty sure he also drops the left half of the D square, since he drops gems, but since he doesn't drop the other half it wouldn't count. The answer is C. 4. A. Bronze dragons don't drop visages. 5. Bandos is the patron god of ogres. The answer is D. 6. Trick question. Although they're certainly not practicing worshippers of Saradomin, they're vampyres created from the trapped souls of Saradominists. There are no known Vyrewatch that are not loyal to Drakan, plus they're vampyres, not vampires, so the answer can only be B. 7. E. I picked Armadyl. Lucien's a jerk. 8. B, Glough. He also summons a black demon in The Grand Tree. 9. B. 10. Had to think which one Kamil was. Dessous and Fareed were blood and smoke, and whatsisname was shadow, so Kamil had the ice diamond, which means he's to the north at the ice path. A. 11. I don't recognize that area, but the statue appears to be of a dwarf, so E is a god guess. 12. Is this a trick question? You're supposed to need a hatchet and a machete. The hatchet chops through trees, the machete hacks through bushes. Unless there's some alternative route I don't know about, it's A. 13. B. Although Zemouregal, Lucien, and the Corporeal Beast certainly haven't helped since then. 14. The local fauna give away its location as Mos Le'Harmless, E. 15. There are only so many construction sites in Runescape, and I'm pretty sure those guys are in the Digsite, D. 16. C. Teleport to the Ectofuntus, run to the herb patch. A familiar activity for any experienced farmer. 17. Trick question. You need access to fairy rings, which need FTP2. But the question asks which needs to be completed, and you don't need to do all of FTP2 to use fairy rings. The correct answer is B, Fairy Tale Part I. 18. That's the columbarium underneath Paterdomus. 19. Making a canoe gives experience in Woodcutting. 20. The weapon gives this one away. The Void Knight Mace is being used to autocast Claws of Guthix. The only one of these bosses that would likely be fought with magic is Dagannoth Rex, the melee dagannoth king, which is the grey one, C.[/hide]

What Str. Weapon should I buy?
But then you can't use it at any of the best spots because it conflicts with a salve amulet.

~ Troacctid's Woodcutting Guide ~
The adze would be worth getting first if you're going for 99 firemaking as well. Otherwise, the extra time spent on firemaking isn't worth the slightly faster woodcutting experience. But this is one of those cases like evil trees where you can basically do whatever you want to do without a major drop in efficiency either way--it all depends on how much you want to train firemaking.

Armour zombie training?
It's slower. Part of the whole reason for armoured zombies as a training spot is the altar.

side profits, is it worth it?
1152+7000=8152 to make one. They alch for 9300 so you'll still make money. If you're buying the battlestaves and air orbs from GE, then you'll lose money. Anyways, you can just buy and sell for ~75k profit each day It would only be profit if you couldn't sell them. But since you can, you're trading a battlestaff and an air orb for an air battlestaff, which is a loss in value.
-
side profits, is it worth it?
You still lose money making air staves. But yes, battlestaves and MTK are worth it. Some others, like Bert's sand and Arhein's seaweed, are much less profitable and not necessarily worth it; however, Miscellania and battlestaves give substantial profit with very little time involved. Really? i thought i made a few gp with buy the staves from Zaff and then buy the orbs for around 1k eack. But maybe prices changed? Cuz i havent done it in a while. Oh i also had all my nats either collected or made. An air orb and battlestaff together are worth about 9.3k, and an air battlestaff is worth 9.1k. You lose about 250 gp per staff if you craft them.

Kent's guide to Summoning mastery! Bork
Speaking of waterfiends, I've started using piety on them, and I'll tell you, it really works like a charm. (No pun intended.) 70 prayer, 85's in melee, a bunyip, and a super set, and I can get something like 70 crimsons/hr even with intense lag. And that was with eating and drinking interrupting my combat. I think I broke even or lost a little, I don't know, but it doesn't matter because charms are much more valuable than money. Three cheers for piety.

~ Troacctid's Woodcutting Guide ~
I've gotten hundreds of nests and only two ravens. They're very rare. Plus, half of them are brown ravens, which are much less cool than the black ones. If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time looking for a new one--it's not worth it, especially when there are so many cooler pets around, like crawling hands or squirrels. Especially since you have 99 woodcutting already. If you find a raven, you find a raven, but they're rare enough to be much too rare to go looking for one. Good luck anyway, though...I found my first raven egg within half an hour of getting the summoning level to hatch it, then didn't get another one until about two million xp after 99 wc. As for this new dropping thing, well...that just makes it too easy, doesn't it? Teaks are much faster when you don't need to re-click the tree. Heck, this makes Zarfot's powerdropping method the default.

Kent's guide to Slayer mastery! NEW SECTION!!!
To be precise, Enhanced Excalibur uses 100% of the spec bar to heal 20 hp (in five increments of 4 hp) and boost your defence by about the same as a super defence potion. It's not as good as the SGS spec, but it can definitely function as a budget version of the SGS; after all, there's a certain threshold of wealth required for a Saradomin Godsword that's much higher than what you need for the Excalibur. Basically, any time you would use the SGS spec for slayer tasks, you can use the Excalibur spec. They're near-identical in functionality. You could think of the SGS as an upgrade to the Enhanced Excalibur in the same way you might think of a Bandos Chestplate as an upgrade to a Guthan's Platebody: an optional luxury item that costs a lot of money and outperforms the basic option by a small margin. (Well, you've used the SGS more than I have, so you'll understand better what that margin is.)

Kent's guide to Slayer mastery! NEW SECTION!!!
Well, if you happen to have a torso already for some reason, then sure, it's personal preference whether you want to spend some mils to upgrade it to Bandos, which is better in every stat. But it's definitely NOT worth getting a torso in the first place. Even if you happen to enjoy BA, which, granted, some do, you might as well upgrade your BA levels with your points instead. And for those people who luckily happen to enjoy BA, have enough defense/summoning/hp/etc to lessen the importance of defense bonuses and aren't interested in upgrading to the best equipment, well obviously they can do whatever they want, but I wouldn't "recommend" getting a torso. The slayer ring is something you might do for convenience, and it is a pretty underrated item, but it counts more as transportation than equipment. You're right that Excalibur is very useful, though.

Whip or no?
Yes, it's the best weapon.

green charm droppers
Slayer is your best bet if you don't want to hunt for crimsons, but really, it's so much easier and better to buy the pouches.

Which logs for firemaking?
If you're thinking about it enough to ask, it's probably a sign that you should switch to eucs...assuming you're not bankrupting yourself, of course.
