  1. People say, "Runescape, yeah, it's good...it has terrible graphics though." Well, now it doesn't have terrible graphics. So yeah. Plus, the graphics team and the content team are comprised of different people, so it's not like content is just being sacrificed for graphics. Nothing wrong with making stuff look nicer if it isn't getting in the way of new quests and stuff.
  2. Jagex made it pretty clear at the beginning that the prestige of victory would be its own reward in this competition. Congrats to the winning clans!
  3. You could have your friend buy an expensive piece of equipment with the money and lend it to you for free whenever you want it. Or if you accumulate any unsellable junk like maple longbows (u) or willow logs, you can use the junk to balance the trade.
  4. I've been on fish/flax for months and they've held their prices well. Maples can give better profit than flax, but there's luck involved, not to mention some extra busywork to get the seeds out of the nest, and the logs themselves are worth barely anything and slow to sell.
  5. Oh, if you're using Dharok's, then you want zombie monkeys on Ape Atoll. But the better spot is in the dungeon with the [bleep]es and falling rocks and stuff, not the spot by the altar...you'd need prayer potions. You're probably better off killing armoured zombies with a whip. If you're set on maxing or something, try a keris dagger on kalphites...it hits higher than Dharok's anyway.
  6. The Chaos Tunnel dags have much better drops and should definitely give you enough to break even on pots. Even if they didn't, you'd be losing a lot less than you would in the Lighthouse...cannonballs are more expensive than prayer potions. As far as Bandos, the chestplate is much better than the tassets. The chestplate has a smaller drop in defense and a larger boost in strength, and it looks much cooler to boot. But the tassets have a smaller strength boost coupled with a larger defense drop, so they're much less worth it. If you're using 10% strength prayer, you're better off with Verac's skirt than the tassets. You should keep the chestplate, but you can go ahead and lose the tassets if you'd rather pocket the cash difference. And for the ring, wealth is perfectly fine on monsters that actually have rare drops, but if you're fighting something like aberrant spectres or whatnot where your best drops are common stuff like herbs, you're better off with an Explorer's ring or berserker ring. (Well I guess spectres drop the mystic robes, but the Explorer's ring is still better there anyway.) If there's a task without a good rare drop where you aren't praying, then a zerker ring is worth wearing. Otherwise, there's no need for it.
  7. The strawberry seeds should be pretty easy to sell if you don't want them...there's some moderate demand for them. The rest are all droppable, although you could plant the mushroom spores--they're not bad...the patch is right next to a fairy ring, so there's hardly any transportation time to worry about.
  8. Wow, picky aren't we? While we're at it I suppose you want it to drop 50 crimson charms per hour too, right? Armoured zombies are exactly what you're looking for. Don't sweat the 5 hp difference. ;)

Not really. Magic logs are actually more efficient than yews if you make less than 250k gp/hr, whereas sharks are less efficient than monkfish unless you make less than ~100k gp/hr. That means (since monkfish are more than 100k gp/hr) sharks will never be more efficient than monkfish. (Magic logs, by the way, are still less efficient than eucalyptus logs even if you make under 250k gp/hr. Yews are just overrated.)
  10. You can speed up even further by using a slayer ring instead of a house teleport, and by taking the hardest follower to get better rewards without increasing difficulty (since you skip the combat anyway.)
  11. The trick is to skip as many events as possible. If you can manage high-speed trekking, you should be able to get lumberjack fast enough to be worth it. Even if it takes awhile, trekking is profitable enough between snakes, nail beasts, and reward tokens that you'll be making way more profit than if you'd been woodcutting, anyway.
  12. With 99 def, you'll probably be able to do most tasks in one trip with just food, let alone a bunyip. You can easily go without Guthan's.
  13. Your opinion is mathematically incorrect. The miniscule increase in damage provided by +4 strength will never make up for the time it takes to get the torso. When you play Barbarian Assault, you get no profit and no experience. In the hours it takes to earn a torso, think how much experience you could have gotten if you'd stuck to training your melee instead. Then think how long it would take for the extra strength of a torso to add that much extra experience. See the picture? There might be something to it if the torso was actually the best equipment available. But it's inferior to barrows in any situation where defense matters, and it's inferior to proselyte in any situation where defense doesn't matter. Even in a hypothetical situation where it is the best option, the difference in damage provided by +4 strength is relatively small--hardly worth the time it takes to obtain the torso. On top of that, the Bandos plate is better in every category anyway, so eventually once you get enough money you'll just throw your torso away.
  14. New penguin quest seems likely. Who else do we know who would be spying on us from submarines? Anyone else would use human spies; blending into the environment like this is exactly where the KGP specializes. If it's not penguin business, I'll eat my proverbial hat.
  15. Mark Gerhard has my applause so far. He's actually getting the company to really listen to what players say, and to talk back. The development diaries are going great so far, we have patch notes for every update so we never need to be surprised by unannounced changes, Jmods are posting on the forums more frequently, and there was that whole Q&A thing. Furthermore, Jagex actually committed to spending more time tweaking and improving old content, which is a big step forward. They clearly are willing to respond to player criticism of updates, and have so far successfully made positive changes based on rants (like the changes that have been made to Soul Wars). They're spending more time on QA instead of rushing to release the new stuff on schedule, which is clearly a good thing. And more and more new quests are focusing on continuing existing storylines--they even actually completed the goblin quest line. Thumbs-up all around. Yeah, I really like the new leadership these days.
  16. Basically what you're saying is that the economy needs to be tweaked because f2p miners aren't making enough money, mages are paying too much for runes, and runecrafters can't buy enough essence. But none of those are true. Mining is already the most profitable f2p skill. Pure essence is freely available at fairly reasonable prices. And runes...okay, magic is still too expensive to be used regularly in combat, but that problem wouldn't be solved by this change anyway. Besides, even if there was a problem, merging essence would be a terrible way to solve it. If you want to upgrade f2p mining, it would make more sense to introduce new mining-related stuff. Similarly, if you want to upgrade runecrafting and magic, do it through actual content, rather than blatantly trying to manipulate supply and demand.
  17. Well, the thing about using it as a hub is that it's actually faster to teleport to the Grand Exchange directly and run to that tree than it is to use the cabbage tele and run to the Port Sarim tree. That's part of why the planted tree isn't so useful.
  18. Well, here's what Zarfot says in his guide (Quick find code: 98-99-703-58532304, Page 11):
  19. I like that the Etceteria spirit tree plops you next to the bush patch, so you can get a free 1k farming xp off of poison ivy when you go to refill your favor. Then again, once you can plant a spirit tree, farming xp isn't very useful anymore, is it? Brimhaven is okay too, good if you do tree runs, but then again, back to the whole "farming xp after 83 doesn't do anything" bit. It's nice for linking the spirit trees to the charter ships though. Tbh the spirit trees aren't the greatest transportation system around. It's not really a big deal where you plant yours.
  20. You can use ordinary fishing bait. It's slightly cheaper.
  21. How? What would be better about it?
  22. You left out brewing. And I would consider farming to be one of those daily things. Fruit trees, at least, since they take such a hella long time to grow.
  23. It's really the same as summoning a new familiar. You need another pouch and everything. You just don't need to dismiss the old one first, which I guess is convenient.
  24. You don't cut the fish then drop them. It's one or the other. If you cut them, you don't need to drop them, because you can use the roe and caviar as bait. (Just drop the fish offcuts.) If you do drop them, you drop them before cutting them so that it's faster, and you bring your own fishing bait. Dropping is faster and takes less attention, so it's better. For firemaking, Port Phasmatys isn't the best place to burn. I recommend the Grand Exchange--it has the most open space, and you don't need to leave the bank to get to your burn line. I also recommend practicing backwards firemaking a little...it's faster than regular firemaking, and more interesting. (There should be a guide here that oughta help with that.)
  25. But that still doesn't explain what's wrong with the status quo. Why is the change warranted?
