  1. No, questing is not a skill, and the quest cape is not a skillcape and is not referred to as one by Jagex. Coulda looked in the Game Guide if you wanted to know this.
  2. No, because you'd just need to do another 5 tasks before you get the bonus, and you'd miss out on the 50 task bonus. Don't worry, you get a bonus at every multiple of 10.
  3. No good trees there either. The best place would be Ape Atoll. Pkers won't attack you there because if they take off their greegree, they'll get poisoned and stuff. Tai Bwo Wannai works fine too, since pkers aren't likely to be carrying trading sticks, although I don't remember if you can range over the fence. (Even if you could, you could hide behind the trees.) And nobody goes to the Kharazi Jungle either. Yeah, stick with teaks.
  4. Might I point out that Dorgesh-Kaan would be strictly better once you get into the 80s?
  5. The one on Harmony Island is not an herb patch.
  6. The only tree that might be remotely worth chopping in the wildy is the cursed magic tree, and not only is it slow experience but half the time it isn't in the wildy anyway. You'll be better off just chopping teaks in a PvP world.
  7. Yes, it is true.
  8. A lot of the time the nests are worth more than the seeds.
  9. Edgeville is fastest, followed by Neitiznot.
  10. All tasks complete here. I already had every skill except fletching, and I got that with a spicy stew. I don't think I'll be using the reward very often, though. That 120 flax a day is slower to get to and no more valuable than running to my cactus patch to pick three spines from it, and I never spin flax, so the speed bonus doesn't help. The bonus experience for cutting maples is, as it turns out, useless; maples are still slower xp than willows when they're 110 xp each, and the logs are still mostly worthless in the GE. Unless their price quadruples or something, maples are still crap for training woodcutting. When I tried using the headband to cut normal logs, I got 2 logs from every tree. Either success is based on woodcutting level (I have 99), one inventory is too small a sample size, or the ability works 100% of the time. But either way, normal logs are still not worth chopping once oaks are available. (The experience for chopping 2 logs at once is the same as the experience for chopping 1 log.) That leaves Excalibur. The Enhanced Excalibur's healing ability seems to have potential. If reports of 20 hp a spec are true, then it's basically a combined super defence pot & void spinner if you give up your dds specs. I guess we'll see; it might be of use in some situations. Jagex should have pushed the numbers a little harder. The flax should have been twice as much, and the maples should have been +20% xp.
  11. Ironically, you didn't notice when I noticed it. #-o
  12. Agility is faster than fishing. All skills "just require time." Welcome to Runescape. please show me where you can get in excess of 75k agility xp an hour, every hour. that's the kind of experience i get an hour at barbarian fishing. then please show me where you can afk that kind of agility, then on top of that, show me the dedication in the fact that from 90-99 agility you will hardly ever notice a difference within the game itself. those things cannot be said for fishing, woodcutting or any similar skills. Heavy rod fishing was never more than 60k exp/hr unless you powerdropped. Dorgesh-kaan is 60k exp/hr in agility. It doesn't matter how useful they are because you said it was based on time. I said all skills just require time. They do. You just listed a bunch of things that aren't skills, which doesn't contradict me at all. Well, except 200+ total, which does indeed require only time. At godwars i average 1m+ every single hour. that's less than 100 hours for 99 prayer. incidentally i got 3 sara hilt drops 3 manning in two days for that, when hilts were selling for 120m. Scratch the 100+ hours on that prayer on my behalf please. You implied previously that God Wars bosses require skill. If that's how you're funding your prayer/smithing/herblore/construction/etc, then by association would those not take skill as well? Anyway, the average member makes more like 200-300k gp/hr. In the time it would take me to get enough money and get 99 construction, I could have gotten 99 agility twice over. I did those to 80+ while watching tv many years ago. there are no benefits above those levels for those skills, so i left them around that level. If they were worth anything other than the cape, i'd consider doing more of them in front of my tv-screen making the most of my time. That's wonderful for you, but it has nothing to do with the argument at hand. So because new quests are being released every month, a quest cape is easier to maintain than a skillcape, since the player has 28 days between quests? Zero skill levels above 99 are released each year, so that gives you hundreds of days to level up. True, only a few quests are hard...but then again no skills are hard. They can all be maxed out with simple grinding, with the exceptions of farming and summoning and slayer, which require complex grinding. And? So what...
  13. There is still a difference between every experienced player and every single player (try killing the level 100+ trolls on a low level account). True, it wasn't a real part of the quest, like Death Runes and Blood Runes are to MEP 2 and Legacy of Seergaze, but it would still be nice to see the prize of Laws go up to 1K again. Laws were never 1k. They were 300 gp when the quest was required, and they were 300 gp after it was changed, and they've stayed around 300 gp since then.
  14. Maybe ourg bones are only worth extra experience because the ogres ascribed ceremonial importance to them, with them being found in a burial ground and all. Perhaps it's the special magic about the area that makes them special, and Graardor's bones aren't any different than regular big bones because he's in the God Wars Dungeon and not at Jiggig. There would be precedent for not having a distinction between different kinds of big bones--giant frogs and cave horrors drop them just the same as hill giants and desert lizards.
  15. Agility is faster than fishing. All skills "just require time." Welcome to Runescape. No, 2000k attack experience is definitely slower than 500k agility or prayer experience. And starting at a new skill is much easier to gain levels, since the experience needed for a level-up increases exponentially as levels get higher. All the experience it takes to get from level 1-65 is the same as the experience it takes to get from 65-72.
  16. Hmmm...Saradomin is underpowered in f2p. No level 4 units, and the ones Sara does have are identical to the ones Zammy has, except that Zammy gets greater demons too.
  17. The lamp is instead of the law tally.
  18. Your favor gains a level when you summon something that's the same as your current level. You can't get level 5 sara in f2p because the highest f2p sara guy is level 3, so you can't summon a lv4 guy. Even if you could, none of the sara guys need level 5.
  19. I've already said, the reason was so that people could craft laws with the assist system. What reason is there to change it back?
  20. [/hide] lahit, why is it that you have herblore listed as better than a quest cape, prayer listed as equal to quest cape but construction and "basically all skills you can plain buy" as skills that are worse than a quest cape? Herblore is one of the most buyable skills out there. In fact, it's equal with construction in my book, seeing as how they took me about the same amount of time to level to 99 and cost about the same. And prayer is almost about the same, but a little cheaper, I think (by maybe 20 million gp). Furthermore, why are "all skills you can plain buy" so bad? You do realize that it takes a ton of time and dedication to make upwards of 100 million, don't you? Not all people who have 99 construction and similar skills have hoards of party hats and millions of gp sitting in their bank, just waiting to be spent. Some people spent months making money in order to afford to level such skills. In fact, it could take someone longer to get 99 construction than to get 99 woodcutting or fishing. And the longer it takes, the more dedication and patience you need, in my opinion. I'm mostly just wondering why your list is so uneven. You have three skills that are almost identical in three separate categories. QFT. I was wondering the same thing. Nothing is wrong with "buying" skills.
  21. *notices* See, you're all wrong. You got no idea what the original post was about. :-w
  22. Actually, the problem was that the person being assisted couldn't craft the runes even with assistance, because they couldn't get to the altar to click "Craft runes."
  23. Because before the trade limit you could still do law running by standing outside the altar and trading with the crafters when they come out. That's not possible with the assist system. The reason other quest altars weren't changed was because they were located in quest-only areas, so it wasn't possible to do death running or astral running anyway unless you had already done the quests. [/hide] I'm pretty sure it's not beyond Jagex to extend the assist system to Runecrafting, although it would have to function differently to other skills. I mean, Runecrafting is probably the most reliant skill on assisting than any other. Why extend the assist system to allow you to craft runes without a talisman, when you could just make the talisman tradable? Occam's Razor, my friend, Occam's Razor.

  25. Jagex has this sort of inconsistency. Kril Tutsaroth is a lesser demon for slayer tasks, even though he has wings like a greater, and his generals are greater demons and black demons.
